I think the 7’2” MH glass Shimano Zodias is a major sleeper for a chatterbait rod. When I first got it I thought it was too soft, but after lots of use it’s proven to be deceivingly powerful when I need it to be.
Id like to see how the st croix 7.2 H Moderate victory/legend tournament compares...im still a MH fast guy when it comes to chatterbaits...i use copolymer line almost exclusively, maybe thats why.
I've settled on the 1st gen Megabass Levante Diablo Spec R after trying so many different rods off purchases/friends/family. It's a bit softer tip than the Orochi xx model, and enough backbone to drive hooks. I just hope this rod never breaks because I noticed a difference between the 1st Gen and 2nd gen.
Don’t sleep on the cashion chatter bait rods either. Great value per dollar, and the actions are awesome for graphite. They won’t win a beauty contest but functionally they are great and made in USA!
Cashion makes really good rods I love their rods I have about 4 of them now and I will be buying more of their rods. But I love their chatterbait rod I have caught many big bass on it and caught my pb on that particular rod.
I got the super combat stick it’s a great rod. I was using the 7’4” Brent Ehler cranking/Chatter bait rod. In th tatula elite line and it was a great performer as well.
I absolutely love that MH Glass Expride for 3/8 oz chatterbaits (and nothing above)! Great for casting and skipping, but a great feature is you can feel every vibration of the bladed jig. A hard charging bass will stop the vibration, which immediately clues you into catching up to the fish and setting the hook!
I think Thrift was the first major pro to win on a chatterbait, Hite took it to another level. It’s weird that they couldn’t be further away from each other on the type of rod they like for it, Thrift is graphite and B-Hite is glass. Both have had major success. I love the BLX 7’4” LG, it makes for a great lipless rod as well. The Rebellion 6’10” is also a great chatterbait rod for close quarters throwing in and around cypress trees. Curious to see how the new 6’10” and 7’3” Zillions with flex lite stack up to some of these rods. Thank you for putting rod weights in this video, it is truly appreciated. Wish everyone would do that.
I bought a Dobyns 743c Kaden from you guys last year and it’s amazing ! I throw chatter baits on this and a 744c either Rod I would highly recommend !! 👍🏻👍🏻
I love my SCSC-73HG.... specs and performance is Out of Scale. After watching this video i am very glad i got this rod its has the best performance of all the models you showed 😊😊
The Tatula glass rod is a fantastic value. I primarily use it for heavier Jackhammers. You mentioned maybe a bigger reel, I have a Tatula 150 on mine, perfect match. I have an IMX Pro 7'2" Med BJR, you guys should consider carrying that rod. The multi-taper gives it a fast tip with a parabolic bend when loaded. The action looks very similar to the NRX. I also like the Randy Howell Tatula Elite 7'4" Regular and the Megabass Orochi Diablo for chatterbaits. Omnia - you guys are fantastic, keep up the good work on the videos and great customer service. Seth is my favorite pro, love his videos and gear recommendations!
Goodness how in the world didn't the St. Croix legend tournament 7'2H Rip-n-Chatter composite glass rod weighing in at like 4.5oz not make it on this vid? I truly own every single rod in this video. And I bought all of these including more in search of the perfect Chaterbait rod. And I will say hands down the St Croix Rip-n-chatter is the best one for all around. It is soft enough to fish easily and open water. And strong enough to fish in heavy vegetation. And fast enough to snap off weeds when your bait gets gummed up without snatching the rod. I'm mind blown that, that rod is not in this video. It is an absolute gem. I have literally over $7,000 of "bladed jig" spec rods. Even odd ball rods many ppl don't even know about like Kk bladed rod or Savage gear glass bladed jig etc.
I have been using that rod for the last year and have no complaints! Super light and sensitive. Slow enough to let the fish get the bait and has enough power to fight some decent size fish. I have given this rod every opportunity to disappoint me and it has yet to do so.
I love my tatula I don’t have the glass one but if you throw a 3/8-1/2oz chatterbaits the 7’2 med I found works so well nice tip it feels softer but I never had an issue yet knock on wood
Thanks for doing this comparison. Polish, you might want to look at the Halo fishing rods, HFX series Lee Livesay, 7’6”, medium, heavy, casting crank. A friend told me to try it and I have not put it down.
To be honest, I own a 7’2” medium heavy X pride rod it also makes a great 6 to 10 foot crank bait rod or whopper popper rod I also have a Dobbins fury 734 rod that I use for top water and repairs perfectly with the Daiwa Tatula Elite 150
Shout out to Omnia, super awesome video idea!! That goofball on TW videos could never do something like this, an I’m a TW guy 😂. Awesome vid boys, keep these kinda vids coming, makes it super easy and helpful when researching a rod I want to buy!!
I was using a5.2:1 reel on a med action rod and landing every1 then used a fast action with the same ratio reel and landed ½of them. I've just been using my uglystick and leaving my shimano at home
One technique I’m still looking for a unicorn rod for. I do not like the way glass rods feel at all so that knocks out almost all of the list, and was never a fan of how noodly the 883c BJR is. I ideally want something that’s more of a MH+/ light side of heavy power rod. The Conquest 904c is probably exactly what I’m looking for but boy that $800 price tag is nuts
I have the rebellion 7'4" h glass and it weighs 6.2oz... I think the blank is very simulat to the seth tatula ... luv the rebellion line... most slept on from daiwa
The rebellions, might be the best value rod line of all time. The 7’4 BLX LG is a very legit chatterbait and lipless rod. I’ve never understood why those 2 series didn’t take off here.
I got the Brent ehler tatula elite glass rod. I wanna say it’s a MH but I feel like it should be a heavy.. I love glass. it take time to get the feel down.
Off topic but how tall are ceilings in that room your in, you giving me anxiety raising 500$ rods above your head indoors like that… lol, good way to bill dance yourself
No joke, I have a 13 Fishing Fate Chrome rod - 7’3” MH Cranking model that weight 4.6oz. I always felt it was light and balanced and this video made me curious enough to weight it. I have been thinking about trying it for chatterbaits. After seeing these weights shared, it’s incredible to me that a composite rod for $80 weighs 4.6oz, even if it’s a little underpowered.
Usually a crank bait rod is softer more forgiving even though its parabolic it not good for a single heavy hook penetration. You need parabolic but powerful down mid and lower blank to pop from grass. Graphite cranks if its stiffer more powerful may work but you cant have it whippy.
I'm sorry but fishing rods and reels are starting to get stupid in price I'm sorry but no rod should cost 500 dollars every since fishing has gotten popular the consumer has been taken it in the poop hole
Really appreciate you listing the physical weight of each rod.
I think the 7’2” MH glass Shimano Zodias is a major sleeper for a chatterbait rod. When I first got it I thought it was too soft, but after lots of use it’s proven to be deceivingly powerful when I need it to be.
If you want a chatterbait rod in the Dobyns rods lineup but dont like the feel of a glass rod then look at the Dobyns Sierra 734C
I love my dobyns glass rod for crankbaits and chatterbait
Id like to see how the st croix 7.2 H Moderate victory/legend tournament compares...im still a MH fast guy when it comes to chatterbaits...i use copolymer line almost exclusively, maybe thats why.
Shimano Adrena 72 MH/Glass is my go-to Chatterbait rod.
I also use Megabass P5 Destroyer - Javelin 7’5 Med-Moderate.

I'd like to try one but they are sooooooooooo ugly I can't bring myself to spend the money 😂. Really wish they'd improve their aesthetics
I got the super combat stick it’s a great rod. I was using the 7’4” Brent Ehler cranking/Chatter bait rod. In th tatula elite line and it was a great performer as well.
Would’ve liked to see the imx pro version of the 883 bjr
I bought the IMX BJR 7'2" M and love it, ordered the 7'4" MH this year.
My Chatterbait rod is a Lew's Custom Speed Stick Topwater Special (6' 8" medium moderate fast 1/4-3/4oz). I primarily run the bank target fishing.
I absolutely love that MH Glass Expride for 3/8 oz chatterbaits (and nothing above)! Great for casting and skipping, but a great feature is you can feel every vibration of the bladed jig. Dobyns fan here. Would’ve loved to see the graphite version of the 736cb. Thanks for the comparison bends, they’re great
Alpha Angler Chatterbound! Great video as always, well done!
2nd this, I have 2, amazing rod
I love my SCSC-73HG.... specs and performance is Out of Scale. After watching this video i am very glad i got this rod its has the best performance of all the models you showed 😊😊
of course it is...😁
Compare the new Zillion 73H. It feels and fishes a lot like the super combat stick. It’s 1oz lighter and less $$$. Both are fabulous
Glass expride is my favorite
The Tatula glass rod is a fantastic value. I primarily use it for heavier Jackhammers. You mentioned maybe a bigger reel, I have a Tatula 150 on mine, perfect match.

There's a lot of IMX fans out there. We might have to add those to an order.......
Fantastic job guys!!!
Keep the videos coming!

Which model rip n chatter?
@@jakkuup St Croix legend tournament 7'2 heavy
how does any of the St Croix Rip n Chatter rods stack up? im lookin at getting that in the Victory line this year.
I have been using that rod for the last year and have no complaints! Super light and sensitive. Slow enough to let the fish get the bait and has enough power to fight some decent size fish. I have given this rod every opportunity to disappoint me and it has yet to do so.
Will you add/test the new dobyns 746 cb Its graphite but is his new one he made for chatterbaits
I love my tatula I don’t have the glass one but if you throw a 3/8-1/2oz chatterbaits the 7’2 med I found works so well nice tip it feels softer but I never had an issue yet knock on wood
Can't believe the St. Croix LTB Rip-n-Chatter wasn't included in this.
I just bought a jackhammer rod combat stick. It’s awesome!
Thanks for doing this comparison. Polish, you might want to look at the Halo fishing rods, HFX series Lee Livesay, 7’6”, medium, heavy, casting crank. A friend told me to try it and I have not put it down.

Really enjoying these videos. Also Shimano expride line is goated especially for the and quality you get
Amazing video series.
Dobyns 734 in Sierra or Champion is a great graphite chatterbait rod. There's also a brand new DC746CB.
Shout out to Omnia, super awesome video idea!! That goofball on TW videos could never do something like this, an I’m a TW guy 😂. Awesome vid boys, keep these kinda vids coming, makes it super easy and helpful when researching a rod I want to buy!!
That's the hope! It's so difficult to understand the bend in a picture online so we want to give you all the information we can.
I was using a5.2:1 reel on a med action rod and landing every1 then used a fast action with the same ratio reel and landed ½of them. I've just been using my uglystick and leaving my shimano at home

Dawia Rebellion 7’3 or 7’4 Glass would be rods like suggest for next round. Hear they are super light for glass.
I have the rebellion 7'4" h glass and it weighs 6.2oz... I think the blank is very simulat to the seth tatula ... luv the rebellion line... most slept on from daiwa

Lews KVD CC5 7’4 heavy;moderate and its glass. I exclusively throw Chatterbaits on it.
I am really enjoying all of these rod bending tests, Pete. It was definitely a great idea.
I got the Brent ehler tatula elite glass rod. I wanna say it’s a MH but I feel like it should be a heavy.. I love glass. it take time to get the feel down.
The new Lews custom lite bladed jig rod is 🔥
I bought the NRX+ last year, it's sick!! Phenomenal Chatterbait rod!
Imx pro 883 BJR’ TB says it’s there favorite
What do you think about the MegaBass Levante EMTF?
Tatula casting rods have an issue. They only run 8 guides and the line comes into contact with the blank under load.
Check out the cashion rods
Chattertrap by Scenko Stix by a million
X2 !
Wish you tried the st croix mojo glass
Off topic but how tall are ceilings in that room your in, you giving me anxiety raising 500$ rods above your head indoors like that… lol, good way to bill dance yourself
We're in the warehouse so the ceiling is ~30 ft. up don't worry!
Try the Cashion Fishing Rods Chatterbait Rod
Dobyns is a composite.
Zodias 7’5 glass
Dobyn 746cb
Those are good option
The new 746cb champ smokes that 736
No joke, I have a 13 Fishing Fate Chrome rod - 7’3” MH Cranking model that weight 4.6oz. I always felt it was light and balanced and this video made me curious enough to weight it.
I have been thinking about trying it for chatterbaits. After seeing these weights shared, it’s incredible to me that a composite rod for $80 weighs 4.6oz, even if it’s a little underpowered.
Can we get the best squarbill crank bait rod ?
Usually a crank bait rod is softer more forgiving even though its parabolic it not good for a single heavy hook penetration. You need parabolic but powerful down mid and lower blank to pop from grass. Graphite cranks if its stiffer more powerful may work but you cant have it whippy.
I’d go for tatula elite. 150$$$$. Can’t go wrong.
TFO tactical glass rod
Tharp series 7'4 med/hvy
What about ark rods
Dx 743
Dc 704
Dc 705 cb
DOBYNS FTW
Abu Garcia winch rod is legit
If I didn’t hear the price, I’d think you were describing an Ugly Stik. Why not just use an Ugly Stik?
Berkley Cherrywood and done lmao.
The rods on this video are too heavy for my liking, that expride not bad tho but I prefer a lighter power for the fight!
Why can't I find a 6' 10" chatterbait rod? Anyone!
Because that short of a rod limits the casting distance I’m assuming. They also do not load the same even in the same actions
Should feel good at $500.
I'm sorry but fishing rods and reels are starting to get stupid in price I'm sorry but no rod should cost 500 dollars every since fishing has gotten popular the consumer has been taken it in the poop hole
