The Zillion is the best reel I’ve ever used at any price point and I can almost cast bfs lures on it and turn around and punch with it with the double pinion support. I use mine for weightless flukes on a 7’2MHF Expride.
You are 1000% percent correct on everything you stated in this video. I only fish Daiwa reels and I will never fish anything else. There is gonna be some mad shimano fans in here but it’s the truth. Zillions and steez are on a completely different level than anything else on the market. Daiwa is king 👑
Great video. I have 30+ Daiwa rods & reels going back to the TDA to the Steez. All time favorites are the original Zillion rod, 6’10” MH, & SV Steez (non-TW).
Awesome video! I absolutely love these rods as well. I have the exact same setup for my chatterbait rod, the 7’3 Regular. Crazy thing is all of the regular bend rods in this series are FLEX LITE SVF Glass. I was blown away at how lite and sensitive this new glass was. You can’t beat the Zillion reels either!
I love my Daiwa tatula elite rod I paired it with the new 24 TW SV Tatula reel. and for a 400 set up hands down the best! The look and feel is top notch
For spinning i love Shimano, for baitcasters i love Zillions. I have 4 JDM SV TW’s & 3 TW HD’s. My SV TW’s are for lighter more finesses & trout. My TW HD’s are for LMB & Stripers. For BFS i feel Shimano is king, i have 2 Alde’s & one Conquest. Prefer the Alde over the CC although the CC is really nice but its like wearing white shoes cause the dang thing is the only reel that comes back with scratches after each trip & i baby my stuff. For spinning the Stradic 19 is just sweet.
Frostin Austin you are the man and a true hammer! Imp Dawia's lineup is far superior to any other brand out there I rock all zillion gear as well and don't have a single negative thing to say. Tight lines homie 🎣🎣
That 610 is a glass rod. All rods that have their flex light tech will have fiberglass in it. But you are correct for still being a glass rod it it’s incredibly light.
Never tried Daiwa. Once I tried Shimano, never found a reason to try anything else. I love the new Bantam A’s paired with the Expride line up. I do have some Curado’s that have never let me down as well.
I think Shimano makes great products, but the Daiwa's I have used are absolutely the finest precision fishing instruments I've ever used. I've NEVER had a reel that can cast 1/4oz fluke 100ft against a steady wind until these zillions. 1000's of casts, not so much as an extra loop of backlash around the spool!
I like most brands so long as its the right reel for the right job. like the dc shimano reels especially for casting into the wind but I find the drag pressure a bit lacking. I have several mid range daiwa spinning reels and they are work horses, light weight and easy casting all day. My penn slammer is heavy and feels like the ak47 of fishing reels, awesome drag, and its little cousin the peen conflict has survived so much abuse. And my abu c4 has caught me the most metre plus fish, so I’ll be keeping that reel on the wall when its ready to retire. Couldn’t cast it to save my life, so thats the one i float line livies with.
I've had a couple tatula sv tw's and after a few months, the finish started peeling off of both. They functioned fine, but I didn't really care for the look or the feel either. Never had an issue with any of my shimano reels.
@@scottketcham6357 13 fishing makes some good reels with the ceramic the hundo if you want life long but Shimano man yeah if you don't want to break the bank with hundo and for that fancy and 13 fishing for ceramic Shimano is go to .
I have that rod and I build my own rods too. It’s an amazing soft jerkbait rod, so far my favorite. I have it paired with a bates hundo and I wouldn’t put any other reel on that rod and I pretty much have them all.
Own a tatula. Good reel. But actually prefer my Piscifun Phantom’s. No kidding. Overall top to bottom, bait casting or spinning, freshwater or salt, my money would be on Daiwa.
99% of people that don't use daiwa is just because they've never tried it. If they had that would be the choice. Shimano DC are good also, but they just don't last. I have Diawa reels that are 15+ years old and still work great.
This is the truest statement in the comment section. I used other brands and slowly transitioned ALL of my reels to Daiwa over the years. I have Reels I started guiding with 10 years ago that still feel brand new. Literally hundreds of thousands of casts, if not a million casts!
I have the 7'5 mh-h zillion and the 7'2 expride mh. Expride is a bit more sensitive over the zillion if that's what you are trying to go for. The zillion to me looks much better and feels better in the hand than the expride. Both are solid. You can't go wrong with either. My favorite is the zillion lol.
@@vangthao888 thanks man super helpful! I was thinking about getting the exact zillion. Its rated to throw a quarter ounce all the way up to a an ounce and a quarter, how accurate would you say that is? Seems like a huge range
I have a hard time believing there is anything better than these rods. These are so light and sensitive and strong it's ignorant. I personally have broke a ton of megabass destroyer rods over the years, they've always made it right but it's a hassle. Never used NRX+ rods
I bought 3 JDM Zillions a couple months ago for $220 each. There are a number of large Japanese retailers that have them. Digitaka is my favorite because of how fast the shipping is. Usually 3-4 days to my door in Florida. The JPY has gotten stronger since July, so prices have gone up some
Amazon Japan 🇯🇵 I just bought 5 of them to replace my tatulas. I didn’t really need to my tatulas are amazing, but at 225 a piece I couldn’t pass that up.

Snap 2 steez and one surf rod back in the days. Their reesnd is garbage too bulky and shity on casting, SHIMANO FTW
Can you do a review on just that 6'6" medium extra fast. I would like to see how well it twitches the bait when you apply action.

What do think about BFS fishing? I have the salamandora bfs reel and loooooove it for big Rez or big river smallies
Sounds like a ton of fun I've never messed with them. Usually I just go to a spinning rod.
Dobyns hands down
I'm surprised that Diawa has not come out with a Zillion Spinning reel.. Seems like they make everything in the world with Tatula
