I recently got the left rear valve solenoid code. Went ahead replaced my vtec solenoid. Have to replace the connector plug to the old pressure sensor bc the clip broke and pops off it so the cel light comes on. I too have a 2001 civic manual. Also have to replace the oil light sensor bc it is leaking oil on top of the oil filter

Wanna know what my 2002 was? I tried everything to no avail and found it changing valve cover gaskets. There's a plug in the head downstream of the spool valve that had vibrated out and was laying in the oil inside the valleys of the head when the valve cover was off. Cleaned the hole, used loc-tite, no more trouble. V-tec works! 218K miles now....
I replaced the VTEC solenoid, pressure switch, changed the oil and light would still come on. I ended up doing the bypass wiring and light never came back on. Only thing I resolved with changing out solenoid assembly was fixing the oil leaking from gasket.
I have a 2001 civic ex Manuel with same code. Just did complete tune up and now light came on, I took to a shop locally and they said it was nothing to worry about and light was off and it’s back on 3 days later

Amazing what a little engine oil will do. V-Tec is known to need to have the gasket replaced. At 200K I'm sure it's ready. Good video Sam!
