They're definitely doing it right. I've been disappointed by updates that brought cosmetics and little content but everything considered the game has so much content one can play hundreds of hours and still discover new stuff, and the game is a delight for the eyes. And you need to buy the game once, no dlc, no nothing. I'm so grateful to hello games, and I'll probably still play nms in a few years, along light no fire.
I've got NMS on Xbox and PS4. Still love this game and am shocked at every update that Hello Games does. These guys are real programmers and gamers. This is their baby and I'm sure I'll get Light No Fire and follow Hello Games forever. I'm 59 and still playing video games to this day and I've NEVER seen a game or a company that supports it's game this well and for this many years. 8 years later and still doing updates for free. I'll buy games from Hello Games from now until the end of time or until I explore every planet in No Man's Sky whichever comes first. 🤣
Considering the billions of profits involved in pay for extra in games I doubt very much anybody would follow in Hello Games footsteps, the only way it would ever stop is if people stop paying for that crap and people wont. Imagine if we had to pay 99c every time you stepped into the appearance modifier.
I'd like gas giants and expanding on the smaller added stuff like dungeons and fossils, and honestly, the oceans need more hostile predators with expanded biome diversity. IMHO.
I hate how games like this are the exception instead of the rule but then again if all triple A games companies followed in Hello Games example we probably wouldn’t appreciate it as much.
The fact that this update gave a player boost, does not make it the best update in 5 years. It is the biggest number, but you can clearly see the hype is already worn off, as the steamdb shows it in freefall.
HELLO!!! We need an Armory addition to our base. It would be nice to have more weapon storage. But!!!! It’s great time to be enjoying the No Mans Sky !!!!
