I just wanted to clarify: This is *NOT* a Mod; it's simply Text Formatting, which is usable by all regardless of the system you game on. I know some see Nexusmods a few seconds in and think PC only, but that is *ONLY* where the individual who made the original guide posted it. ✌🫡
I prefer naming the containers with a single letter or icon. That way all tabs are visible at the same time and i can click directly on the one i want without scrolling.
@@sideofgamingx really depends on how you play. Like I myself for example, I never click, I always scroll through the containers - much faster using A-D and Q-E and the highlight of the existing spot/commodity - so I had plain 0-9 numbers, but now colors and names make it much quicker to scroll.
You've gotta be kidding... they baked old school text formatting into the game and didn't mention it anywhere.... What an insane game this is. I have 20 something days on my main save. Now I have to go through it all!
This is amazing. Longtime Player (PS4 ) here, in blissful ignorance of this being even possible.. Thank you to Azure for ferreting this out, and thank YOU for sharing this. :)
Lol, that's what makes a great community: one person figures something out, and people keep sharing it for all the galaxies. Thank you for checking out the video. ✌
Anytime! Doing it to storage really helps clean things up and makes it manageable if you are really into crafting, since that's one area I personally feel the game has always lacked.
This is awesome content, I'll have to revisit this to take more notes. Thanks for the short, to the point, and really useful video. I'm gonna have to play around with my storage and ship names now! Inventory management has been such a brutal slog, especially when I come back from letting the game rest for a few months and don't remember how things were assigned.
Thanks; I appreciate it and am glad you found the content helpful! I agree about inventory management; it has been an area the game has lacked for a long time now. Being able to sort all the material by color has been game-changing for me, especially when it comes to crafting. It doesn't matter how long I'm away; when I return, everything is right where I left it.
Hey thanks for checking out the video! A lot of travelers didn't know text formatting was a thing, so I'm glad to hear the video added something to your NMS journey! ✌️🏻😁
Thank you! Awesome video, looking forward to using it. Side question…. How do you get your storage rooms to be open like that with the refiners in the middle? I keep getting weird walls and pillars. Is that a mod like your bridge mod or something?
Anytime!! I'm glad you found it helpful. No, there is no mod as long as you connect rooms from the Industrial section; whether it be storage, refiners, room expansions, etc., they shouldn't have any walls between them. If you try connecting rooms of different styles, there will be walls, and the floor won’t line up either. I hope that helps you out, and if you still can’t get it to work, let me know! ✌🏻
Yep, when you look at you Freighter sections, you have industrial, tech agricultural ect.. So as long as your 'expansion' one matches the ones next to it... they will be open.. But if you put say your INDUSTRIAL (Refiners, exractors ect) next to a TECH expansion, will still be rooms. This is such a commmon question, a LOT in this game to learn... took me a little while to work this out too.
My studio app says I replied, but it's not showing up, so if this posts twice, that's my bad. To answer your question, it's a mod by JJhookah called JJs Bridge. If you play on PC, you can head over to Nexusmods and pick it up. Hello Games has a mod folder natively in their install file. I try not to mention mods in my videos so the content I create can be used by everyone, regardless of PC or console.
Awesome! Let me know how it goes for you. There’s another bridge mod that looks even better, but it hasn’t been updated for Worlds 1 yet and requires you to recompile the .LUA file yourself.
Honestly, I don't think Hello Games has ever mentioned anything about it since all this is simple text formatting. Often, things like this are found by an individual and then shared amongst the community. Thanks so much for checking out the video; I'm glad it helped you out!
Some of your members are talking about how to make money. If you don’t want to use any glitches👍, the easiest way to make a ton of honest money is on dissonance worlds with water. Find the right one, build a base, use your Nautilon sub, and go for it. If you try only 1-2 sentinel ships per week, you have enough money. But at times I do 5 a day, which can be up to 150 Mio U. Some planets ONLY have sentinels under water, but you have to find them. I suggest combining that with a new galaxy. Things tend to change between galaxies. Good example are the derelict freighters, they can be very different between galaxies, but so can planets. However I have one base, Havelcourt Galaxy, I can go out and find 4-5 sentinel ships within an hour. They are only far between, so take your starship with you.
I used to have a good way to make money. I never used it myself I have it for other players. I relocated my 700k unit activated indium base to a paradise planet another player found for me. I had to downsize it because of constantly hitting the build limit. It was bringing in 500m/day. Since activated indium has been nerfed it's around 50m/day now.
When I do this for my freighter or settlement, in some windows - teleporter for example - it won’t show the name but the machine string starting with for example. Any idea? Doesn’t bother me much, but still😂 otherwise I love it. Especially when you scroll and not do the “mousing”, it works amazingly well. You can handle it with your peripheral view, saves a ton of time.
Totally normal! 😊 What you’re seeing is just how No Man's Sky handles text formatting. Not everything in the game can be displayed with images, or colors, especially for things like teleporters. So, instead, it shows placeholder strings like .
@@sideofgamingx I enjoy it. The inventory management is really neat, as previously mentioned. I found the game to be much simpler than NMS but similar. Its a terraforming game so that was a new twist… worth a play
Hey, so this video as a whole is the tutorial. Since all this is text formatting, it will function the same regardless of the system you play on. So, with you being on PS5, if you follow the steps in the video and the formatting steps shown starting at 2:22, you should be good to go! Now, as far as the Organization goes, all I do to organize my inventory is this: after color coding my boxes, anything red goes in the red box, anything blue goes in the blue box, anything green goes in the green box, and so on. I hope this helps you out. Thanks for checking out the video! ✌
Great tip!!! How did you scroll through the containers? It drives me nuts to have to exit one and look to the next, and then move down when I want to go to more containers.
@@sideofgamingx I'm using keyboard mouse. I've often thought about grabbing my controller to try and use it. Which is easier to run the game? Next time I log in I'll check to see if I was just blind for how to switch between containers. Thanks for your help

If I may ask, how were you able to create a 30,469.1 hyperdrive range? The most I have ever done is a little over 5,000. Is it a mod? Also, thanks for the video. I have been frustrated with all the scrolling just to find an item in a container. I just subscribed.

Hey! Freighters aren’t absolutely necessary, but they can be super helpful, especially as you progress in the game. 1. They serve as mobile bases, which gives you a massive boost in freedom since you can warp and have your base with you no matter where you go, and your storage containers, refiners, nutrient processors, etc., are onboard and always readily available. 2. While it's not much, once you have a freighter, you can start recruiting frigates and sending them on missions. These missions can bring back resources, money, and special items while you’re off doing other things. 3. As I mentioned above with a freighter, you can warp between star systems, which gives you a lot of flexibility for exploration , especially if you want to bounce between different areas as an S Class Freighter can (I believe) get close to 6000LY fully kitted depending on supgercharged slots. (Someone please correct me if I am wrong below) I recommend grabbing one when you get the chance, but ultimately, if your current play style works for you, it's all about what makes your experience fun!
