Great sense of humor. As a veteran mechanic, whom has worked on allot of trucks, can truly appreciate the details. Especially being from Cleveland, which has just as much rust as Wisconsin. Milwaukee, like our sister city. A church and a bar on every corner downtown. Coke machine is fantastic
Like your videos a lot. Been a model builder for well over 50 yrs. Worked in a Coca Cola bottling plant in Presque Isle, ME in 1967. These bottling plants were located around the countryside so that delivery trucks could go out and serve stores within a days drive, 100 mi radius or so. Another fellow and I, and the foreman, would unload empties from 7 trucks and load them for the next day delivery. Started at 4 pm and usually took to midnight or more. Was young then, it was easy. Coca Cola "syrup" (about the consistency of pancake syrup) was delivered to the bottling plants in those 55 gal steel drums. It was thick and not carbonated. The syrup was mixed with water, according to the recipe, and filled into glass bottles right in the plant where we worked. Those barrels were heavy but had heavy steel hoops around them so they rolled on the cement floor easily. Rolled quite a few as they were always in our way. Keep up the good work!
You've turned a 'i would never buy that' to a 'I gotta have that, maybe 2!' lol. I now consider this my favorite build of yours. And i have to eat a little crow here. I mostly watched your videos for the kit reviews, thinking i wouldn't learn much from a guy who mainly builds box stock. I was wrong! I now have at least 5 new things to try out for my weathering. Plus the bed of this is outstanding! That's even better than some I've done using real wood! For a guy who uses rattle cans, i believe you have world class skills.
Hi Chris, I'm new to your channel and I have to say you have talent building models. I'm 61 and needed a hobby and I haven't found anyone I can learn any better than you and I'm really enjoying this hobby. I really want to build that Coke Cola stake body next. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
The more of your videos I watch, the more I learn. Your weathering skills are superb. And you explain things clearly and patiently, never assuming we already know how to do something or what tools and products to use; I greatly appreciate that. Your narration and music selection makes for an easy listen and your video angles make for an easy watch. You’re like the Bob Ross of model building, lol.
Great build..i live in Athens, Tennessee and the city of Athens used to an automatic transmission diesel engined version ford c600 garbage truck..when it would go up a hill the front of it looked like it was going to come up off of the ground where it was taking the weight of the truck cab off of the front wheels👍👍👍😊😊😊
Neat and realistic, im building amt freightliner single cab single drive C&F version got the cab painted white with the green and red decals and red frame built then interior came along and locked up the brakes im stumped on the colors for interior, you did great painting yours. Thanks great work chris.
I love it he has a back story, when was building I always created a back story as I was building and finishing the kit. It was kind of this story that would play out in my head.
Hello Chris, nice junk yard truck. I like that they included the crate, barrels and broom from the stake truck kit. The Coke machines are great. Guess you could call it a 2 in 1 kit. Coke or supply truck. I bought a case of the rack body truck. I think I have 7 or 8 of them in storage. The kits I have include the option for a Ford C Series six wheel tractor. Another 2 in 1 kit. I used the rack body on another truck it was the Ford Ln 8000 box truck with a crane kit. I used the twin axles from the Ford Dump truck to make it a LNT 8000. It fit perfectly on the Short Hauler kit frame with no alterations. The engine is a 534 C.I. Series N Super Duty industrial engine. It is used for trucks, larger boats and industrial applications. My preference is a truck that is driven every day. Your build would be great for a diorama sitting out in a field or in a barn. I really enjoyed this build. Thank you.
I love these "build down" videos. I'm still working on a chevy pickup that I'm building a barn find and put a story behind it. did some dry brushing like you've shown in your previous videos and like how it's turning out.
I just discovered you channel a few days ago. I am in love with the final results of your work. I will be honest, I watch the very beginning where you show what the kit has in it, then I zoom toward the final pre-assembly......after you have the kit painted up.....and then watch through to the end. I skip the entire build process....not because it's boring or uninteresting....I just know that I will not build a model again...most likely. I have two kits....a 66 Chevy II Nova and a 1 of 2500 Testors Panavia Tornado fast attack jet. I bought the 66 Chevy II kit nearly 15 years ago and all I have done to it is to glue the two block halves together. The Tornado jet plane....I opened the box once to check out the parts....and that was probably 12 years ago. Those model boxes have collected nice thick layers of dust over the years. Anyhow....I love how you weather and age some of the models, making them yours and making them seem like they have been used and run about for decades instead of being show room new and shiny.
You go that extra mile. Seeing that awesome weathering realism is just fantastic. Your touch makes these reviews. More tutorial than review"ish. Reminds me of "Duel" Ford made a decent cab in this era. Thanks
Wow! I've watched a LOT of Hpiguys videos, but this one has more tips per square centimeter than five others combined. Can't wait to try out some of these techniques. Thanks!
That looks amazing. Thank you for your video. It’s helped me tremendously. I started this kit about 3 weeks ago, and man, it’s a tough one. I haven’t built a model since I was a kid. I’m building mine just like the box. Things that gave me issues so far: None of the parts numbers match. None of them. I had to find and assemble parts by the terrible pictures alone. This is where your video really helped. The exhaust system was a nightmare for some reason. Probably from the paint not allowing the parts to bond. The side mirrors. Holy cow these things suck.. All in all, I learned a lot and my kit is almost complete. The next one should be a lot smoother! Thanks again!! 👊🏻
This is a repop of the bog standard stake side truck kit from like 4/5 years ago. The big wood grained parts are for a big ass crate, and those are 55 gal drum sides. The only difference is Coke decals and the coke machines. I built it 4/5 years ago. Only "I wish" about it I had was the gas engine. I wish it had the 3208 cat motor like my 89 fire engine had. Was a great building kit. Well, editorial on my wish. The fire engine was a 6000 not a 600. Our 69 fire engine was a 600 and had the 534 gas monster in it. No 2 speed rear end either, had a 5 speed. The 89 had a 3208 cat a 5 speed and a 2 speed rear end. Only part of the dash was padded on our trucks, that hump over the gauges. Rest was semi gloss/satin black. I think only the 89 had that. Understand the color choices of the interior,so the seat rips show up,but really missed the old man tan seats! That body color is a nice color, and I remember these trucks and the white two tone let you know this was an upscale, classy company! Whatever they did. Loved the finished look,as always.
Actually a lot of those old trucks from the '60s & '70s had painted tanks, unless ordered with aluminum ones, I know the old Chevy and GMC trucks I drove had ones that were painted black and they did rust.
Excellent work, especially since it was all done in 2 days! I'll definitely be picking up some of the crackle-finish paint for the interior of the IH Emeryville I'm working on now.
Nice job on this truck, especially the worn look on it. I always want my truck kits to look this way. I've learned a lot on how to do this watching your videos. Thanks for making the video, I really enjoyed this one!
Very nice build. I've been thinking about getting this kit. I own a 1968 C-600 in real life and it would be awesome to have a miniature version of the truck once the restoration is complete. Thanks for the review of this kit.
I have the same coke machine in real life. Its a 1956 westinghouse w series. Its unrestored, still on R-12 refrigerant and still works. Dang i gotta get this mod just for that reason!
Great job on this Ford C-Series. I like your weathering on the kit. This kit really has an identity crisis. The box says C600, the Cab says C800, the 534 cu-in SD V-8 was only available in the C900 (in the 1970s anyway), and the bucket seats were only available in the diesel trucks (C6000 - C8000).
We can say the story is about trucks that only go to loading docks. Plenty of those trucks around. Have to pay extra for lift gate service. The Hostess version has a lift gate that works, it's cool, built it up on that video.
Boy Chris you keep doing a good job love these subjects big rig kits I like a lot next to sy-fy kits they are the favorite kits your weathing techniques are great I also have some nice big rig kits monogram 1/16 scale kenworths and peterbuilt trucks I walk in to my hobby shop and seen them a bought them on impulse I do that from time to time love this build keep them coming Dennis
You're building an amazing Coke truck. but wait- Omg is that a Faygo root beer on your worktable?! Midwest represent! :) we here in Indiana know the good stuff when we see it!
Hello friend, I love your channel and the selection of models you make, the cars you choose to build I love. Have you not thought about acquiring an airbrush? the paint spray is very fine and there is less of the phenomenal orange peel. Very good work with this truck, I really liked the orange color.
Awesome, man. You're making me want to get back into model building. Love your channel, especially videos like this that cover more detail painting. I wish you'd do that for some of your more basic car builds. Also, if you have a list of what kids of paints, paint-pens, clearcoats, etc you use, that would be helpful.
Great sense of humor.

Chris, My Dad's shop had a 1961 Ford C600 dump truck that I used to ride with my dad to the dump. brings back some memories.

all this models that you make are very good to make a miniature movie set, I hope a movie studio would see this to shot movies or video scenes
The more of your videos I watch, the more I learn. Your weathering skills are superb. Glad you like them! Thanks a lot! I'm honored that some folks would compare me to Bob!
Thank you for all the weathering tips! Can't wait to use them!
Water in the headlight. You didn't miss a thing. NIce job. Would love to see it on a diorama.
I use to drive one of these back in the day with a 3208 caterpillar with a 5 speed trans and a two speed rear axle good build.
That truck looks so realistic. Nice job
I always build mine as slightly abused but still used. Nice weathering on this truck.
Thanks for stopping by!
You've added a lot of realism to this build with the weathering and patina!!
Neat and realistic, im building amt freightliner single cab single drive C&F version got the cab painted white with the green and red decals and red frame built then interior came along and locked up the brakes im stumped on the colors for interior, you did great painting yours. Thanks great work chris.
You sir, are definitely the master of weathering.
Thanks a lot!
you do a good job It'`s some times I don't whilly stick to your approach
Its like a very old junkyard truck
Good job

As long as I don't catch it myself I'll keep working!
still floored at how great you make these look like the real thing, bravo Chris .
I'm loving this line of Coca-Cola scales they're doing awesome job Chris
Love your back stories,, very cool,,,gives the model character
Glad you like them!

I love the spare parts and the coke ads. very collectible modeling.

Enjoy getting back into the hobby!
Your paint skills are next level.
Thank you!
I built and still have this kit when orinally released. The parts you thought were placards are really the sides, top, and bottom of a crate.
💘 how you " flattened " the front tires to create an appearance of this sitting abandoned somewhere!!
Very nice, I always learn something new when you weather your kits. A day with your hands covered with model paint is a day well spent.
Nice job adding weathering and patina...
Got this one on the bench now.
This is a repop of the bog standard stake side truck kit from like 4/5 years ago. The big wood grained parts are for a big ass crate, and those are 55 gal drum sides. Looks good, myself I would have dulled the stainless steel gas tanks. They don't rust
Actually a lot of those old trucks from the '60s & '70s had painted tanks, unless ordered with aluminum ones, I know the old Chevy and GMC trucks I drove had ones that were painted black and they did rust.
another Awesome build ,I really all of the extra stuff that comes with it .
I will get one but from my local Ma and Pa hobby store
Outstanding job Chris.
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
And I thought I was the only one who used craft paints and my fingers. Thanks for the great tips!
Very cool looking truck kit 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Chris, that was an awesome build of the Ford C600 flat bed! Excellent weathering details!
Man oh man you do nice work. I like that you don't use a lot of cast resin and photo etch parts on your builds.
What a fantastic build !!! Love tha back story that it is displaying...
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
Beautiful attention to detail, I wish you had left the tanks so that they still showed some chrome!
Thanks for watching!
Very nice build. I've been thinking about getting this kit. I own a 1968 C-600 in real life and it would be awesome to have a miniature version of the truck once the restoration is complete. Thanks for the review of this kit.

dude ur model building is so relaxing to watch and yeah u ARE THE bob Ross of model building. yeah i saw ur FB post LOL
Thanks Tony!
I have the same coke machine in real life.
Its a 1956 westinghouse w series. Its unrestored, still on R-12 refrigerant and still works.

Wow! Learned a lot. Thanks for the detailed explanations and demonstration.
Glad it was helpful!
Another amazing build Chris
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
I would love to see you do a build up of the Lindberg Dodge L-700 Cabover truck.
Maybe some day when it's reissued
Another fantastic build. I really enjoy the fact that you take chances and do what you want to do
Great job on this Ford C-Series. I like your weathering on the kit.

You would think even with a stake bed it would have a lift gate because it’s carrying machines. Oh well, awesome build as always!
We can say the story is about trucks that only go to loading docks. Plenty of those trucks around.
Have to pay extra for lift gate service.
The Hostess version has a lift gate that works, it's cool, built it up on that video.

Now that came out very sweet! Inspired me to think of building a truck🤔. Thank you for the video👍🏻
love the junkyard look the barrels need to be leaking stuff and stained the bed with oil and such
Awesome job as Always would love to see you do a diorama for this truck 👍👍
Looks great Chris
Another great weathering job. A very interesting take on Coke-Cola series build. Wonderful.
This is a really nice kit but tricky at times - your rendition looks awesome!
Great review. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I am thinking of building one as a Ford Motor Company divisional truck - for spare parts etc.
Such a great looking Coke machine. Great detailing.
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
You're building an amazing Coke truck. but wait-
Omg is that a Faygo root beer on your worktable?! Midwest represent! :) we here in Indiana know the good stuff when we see it!
I think it's Shasta, got it from Menards. LOL, thanks man!
"A plethora of plastic". Yesssss!
Also thanks for sharing snd weathering ideas.
I love his videos.. I am building the AMT Kenworth W925 kit...I hope you build and review it also.
Enjoyed the tips and the relaxing music!
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!

Have you not thought about acquiring an airbrush? the paint spray is very fine and there is less of the phenomenal orange peel. Very good work with this truck, I really liked the orange color.
I have three airbrushes and use them if needed to mix a custom color.
Very cool, excellent build! You know, though, you could also have done a faded, slightly beat up Coke machine, missing/broken glass, etc. Great video!
Sounds like a cool idea for your build!
Just wow!
I'm with you on that he's an absolute artist

That's right!
Thanks guys!

You're are welcome!
That chrome was so nice, I saw three Chris' in it! lol There's a similar Ford truck by where I work, sitting off of the interstate in a field.
I think that looks great; lots of lived in/abandoned look. Great work from beginning to end. Great vid, thanks for sharing.
Awesome review as always CHRIS.I just picked this kit up. Thank you always for your reviews.
Thanks for watching!
Man, each build never ceases to amaze! Masterful skill level! I'm glad I subscribed, and love each video! Thanks Chris!
Turned out great that's a sharp-looking outfit
I had a kit just like that but the box art had the truck painted yellow with drums and a crate in the back .
Great job on the weathering look! Looks awesome!
Another great job of weathering and love your back stories.
Thank you!
Awesome, man. You're making me want to get back into model building. Love your channel, especially videos like this that cover more detail painting. I wish you'd do that for some of your more basic car builds. Also, if you have a list of what kids of paints, paint-pens, clearcoats, etc you use, that would be helpful.
Paints and such are all listed as I use them in the painting sections, or I mention them during the parts show offs and stuff.
Sharp looking coke machine...
Cool build, please keep them coming! 👍👍👍🐈🐈🤘🤘
OUTSTANDING build Chris. I love the wear and weathering tips!!!
`Every wich way but loose...`
Man Chris you really know how to beat up a truck good work as always 👍👍
I had begun this kit (or a similar release).
Extraordinary!
Excellent worn patina on that build. Great videos, heep em comin.
Awesome build
Those wheel backing parts u referred to are the tops and the bottoms of the 55 gal drums
Superb work again mate !
Thank you Gary!
Another awesome build. Keep them coming.
Thank you, and thanks for watching and commenting!
I love your weathering technique!
Thay are 55gallin barracks because you have the tops and bottoms and sides
