The Ford F-Series is a series of trucks marketed and manufactured by Ford. In production since 1948, the F-Series is a range of light trucks marketed as full-size pickup trucks, slotted above the compact Ford Ranger in the Ford truck model range. Since 1999, the F-Series also includes the heavier-duty Super Duty series, which includes pickup trucks, chassis cab trucks, and medium-duty trucks. As of current production, the Ford F-Series includes the F-150 pickup, F-250 through F-450 Super Duty pickups, F-450/550 Super Duty chassis cabs, and F-650/750 Super Duty Class 6-8 trucks. The most popular version of the F-Series is the F-150, now in its fourteenth generation.
The best-selling pickup truck in the United States since 1977 (the highest-selling vehicle overall since 1981);[1][2] the F-Series is also the best-selling vehicle in Canada.[3] As of the 2018 model year, the F-Series generated $41 billion in annual revenue for Ford.[4] At various times, Ford has marketed the F-Series across all three of its divisions in North America. From 1948 to 1968, Mercury marketed the F-Series as the M-Series (in Canada); during the 2000s, Lincoln sold the F-150 as the Blackwood and the later Mark LT. The F-series platform has underpinned several sport utility vehicles, including the Ford Bronco, Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator.
As of current production, the Ford F-Series is manufactured by Ford in four facilities in the United States.
The fourth generation of the Ford F-Series is a line of pickup trucks and commercial trucks that were produced by Ford from October 1960 to August 1966. Sleeker and wider than its predecessor, the new F-Series introduced several firsts to the truck line. In Canada, the F-Series continued to be distributed by Mercury dealers as the M-Series.
Along with the traditional separate Flareside beds, Ford introduced unibody trucks. These were originally named as the "integrated pickup" and consisted of the cab and the bed into one continuous piece, with no gap between them.[3] The design required fewer stampings, such as the back of the cab served as the leading edge of the bed, less complicated assembly, such as the single-wall bed sides were spot-welded directly to the door sills, and the body had a less complicated path through the assembly plant's paint shop.[3] This achieved cost savings in the manufacture of the truck, but the one-piece cab and bed body was still mounted to a traditional ladder frame chassis.[3] Only two-wheel-drive F-100 and F-250 models used this one-piece construction--four-wheel-drive models and all F-350s, as well as all models with Flareside beds, continued to use separate cabs and beds. Styleside beds were carried over from the 1957-60 models.
1962-1964
Due to poor market reception, and rumors that overloading caused the doors to jam shut, the unibody trucks were dropped midway through the 1963 model year. The 1963-64 models have the turn signals in the grill. 1964 models received an all-new Styleside bed with more modern styling.
In October 1964, the 1965 F-Series introduced an all-new frame, which would be used on the F-Series through 1979. The body itself remained largely unchanged, but on 1965 and 1966 models the turn signals are above the headlights. Replacing the rudimentary straight-axle in the front was all-new independent "Twin I-Beam" suspension with coil springs on two-wheel-drive trucks.[4] The 1965 and 1966 F-Series trucks are distinguished with a "TWIN I-BEAM" emblem on the front fender. A 4-door crew cab was also introduced on F-250 and F-350 models.
The 240 cu in (3.9 L) and 300 cu in (4.9 L) straight six was introduced. With the introduction of the 208 hp (155 kW; 211 PS) 352 cu in (5.8 L) FE V8, output surpassed 200 hp in the F-Series for the first time.
F-100 (F10, F14): 1/2 ton (4,000-5,000 GVWR max)
F-100 (F11, F18, F19)(4×4): 1/2 ton (4,000-5,600 GVWR max)
F-250 (F25): 3/4 ton (7,400 GVWR max)
F-250 (F26)(4×4): 3/4 ton (4,900 GVWR max)
F-350 (F35): 1 ton (9,800 GVWR max)
A Camper Special was available featuring heavier-duty components to accommodate the slide in campers that were becoming increasingly popular during this time.
For 1965, the Ranger name first appeared as a styling package for the F-Series pickup trucks. The interior featured bucket seats and a curtain over the gas tank which was behind the seats in the cab
use to do these when i was a kid, im 44 now and been doing them the past month so far I've done 14 models. love all your vids lots of help and tips when i need them, thanks. i used to play with epoxy uv cure resin so now i use it for speedometer glass and sometimes radio like the amt 2021 charger rt. fun hobby lol i have a resin 3d printer as well so soon ill be printing little things to add to my models like dashboard decors etc. thanks again for the tips and ideas, appreciate you buddy.
I'm always amazed at how beautiful these Moebius kits are. Great detail and I love the full color instruction sheets. Nice to see you kept this one clean instead of well worn.
Nice build!
If they ever do the '67 Chevy pickup, I'll be in piggy heaven!
Oh yeah - '67 through '72 Chevy & GMC pickups - long-bed, short bed, step-side, smooth side, 4x4, 2WD, bone stock, street machine, 6-banger, "Mouse" or "Rat" V8s, panel delivery,Suburban.... Lots of possibilities to kit ala Mobius Fords or RM Chevys = multi-versions from relatively few major toolings. Yes, please!
Definitely maybe even the blazer
The chrome bumpers on these old trucks always makes me chuckle. Probably fewer than 1 in 100 of these trucks were sold with chrome bumpers. These were working vehicles. Chrome was a premium. I don't think I ever saw a pickup with chrome bumpers until the 80s.
About the only thing I dislike about these kits is the moulded on side trims which mean you're pretty stuck with the chrome options.
I really like your videos. I wish they would come out with a 1952 ford f1 model.
Revell used to make one. I remember building it when I was 13
Interesting suggestion. I wonder if RMC sales of 1950 F-1 pickup were so poor that some '48 -'52 versions "died on the vine?" Just consider the success the venerable '53 from AMT has had - despite having some quirky "features, like door panel molding inside of cab shell....
@randsterama Day and night actually !
My eldest daughter loves this video, because of the blue and white paint scheme you gave it. I build the Moebius ‘71 Ranger XLT for her, in the same two tone, the same way you did yours. I converted it into a ‘67 by using the ‘67 Moebius kit and using the AMT ‘78 Ford Firestone truck, I converted it into a F-250 Highboy.
I had a happy mistake with this truck. I wanted a blue and white interior and wasn’t sure how I was going to do the blue. When I did the blue, I got enough overspray into the cab to turn it blue, to match the rest of the blue, on my truck.
Cool!
Maaan doing everything in my power now to keep from pulling out the credit card and ordering this kit. I've never a Mobius kit- everything they say about them is true. Why can't every kit go together so easily and line up so nicely? LOL other Model companies take note- this is what we want more of-clear concise instructions, color callouts, crisp rich details, 300 extra optional parts, and zero fit issues... Thx for the build up Chis! :)
Nice job! As always, it looks good. You have a very steady hand in highlighting all that raised trim with a sharpie.
What a sharp looking truck - love those colors you picked.
Thanks 👍
Very nice color scheme used on the truck. Really stands out.
Sharp truck..especially with the keystone mag wheels..great build👍👍👍😊😊😊
I am going to have to try a Moebius Kit. This is a beautiful finished piece of work!
You should!
my personal fav Ford truck.....66 means she was built at the factory in 1965 , my birth year....owned a 66 Mustang , for 27 years....302 w quick gearing , and a mild cam...She was fast & too much fun....Rock onnn Chris , nice build
Robert
Absolutely love the frame and driveline on all of the moebius kits because of realism and detail
So great to have so many "real ride" kits - more like what was likely to be driven by someone we knew - sometimes even ourselves! Chris, your builds capture the "real feel" of vehicles which are being driven, instead of "museum pieces," "dealer showroom displays," or "trailer queens!"
Stunning Chris
Beautiful job as always brother. You may have to pay a little more for moebius kits but the cost is 100% worth it when you consider all the extra options and just how perfect they go together and look amazing when done. Thank you for sharing. Everyone keep yourself and love ones safe and healthy and remember to smile.

Twin I-Beam. Great build as always, Chris.
I'll be finishing up my second Moebius pickup today and can't wait to get started on the third!
I owned an actual 66 ford.....what a money pit....loved it. Suicide brake cylinder no power steering...was a blast to drive. Had some of the best body lines on a truck ever.
Love the colors that dull coat and black wash makes wheels look so realistic thanks again for the great video !!!!!
I'd love to get this model one day. I can't wait,
A great build on a wonderful kit. Those Moebius kits are awesome.
...one of your nicest builds!
Thanks!
Oh Yea, My dad’s was red and white with a 352 4bbl and a three speed on the column. I was 5 when he bought it. Kept it till 1973 when he got the F-100 Ranger XLT. I loved those trucks.
I love it when they mold the grills and wheels open.looks more realistic
Very Nice Build and a great kit as well, perfect colour combination.
Another good looking build. Those Moebius models are great.
Great job on this pick up, looks excellent and sits up nice too. You are right about how a guy could really go crazy building it in so many custom ways if you had a good spare parts bin. Thanks for the video, look forward to the next one, take good care and be well.
I give this guy a like/thumbs up when the video starts.
Great build Chris , built this kit a few years you can really go to town on the interior
Nice old truck kit
Very nice kit build
Chris; have watched your builds since day one. Learned lots, and lots of products from you, but I'll faint dead if you ever scraped or sanded off seams and flash from parts. great work anyway, I'll be begging for more.
Great build as usual Chris keep up the great work
Thanks, will do!
Very very nice. A great haul!!
Love the paint job. Love the color combo.
Thanks a bunch!
Fantastic build brother
Yes, yes and yes Chris! Love this build. Mobius sure knows how to out a truck. My builds have gotten much quicker and been having more fun building for myself. Still need to see you build up an A10 warthog. Keep so coming buddy!
Super fantastic job. Really love the colors. Keep it up.
I really like the 2 tone paint looks awesome one of your best builds.Watching your channel got me to finish an old build and back into hobby.I am currently working on 67 GTX.Thank You for the tips on paint and detail.
I bought the first release of that 67 GTX in 1995 - one of the nicest kits I ever built!
Beautiful truck. Keep them coming.
Mobius kits rock, just like you Chris. Another great build.
I got to get this kit. This one has a lot of sentimental value to my mother when she was a kid
Great vid..................You can always do so much with a truck kit !! 👍 👍 👍
Aw, man! Super cool model. Super cool build. Awesome job on it. Great music as well, lol. Really fantastic.
Nice build,love the color choice.Awesome😎
Fantastic....nice paint ! Congratulations ! Regards ! Henrique from Brazil 😎👍
Enpricse with your building the right combo colors great detailing to make it realistic
Gotta love those Mobius Kits! The '67 I'm working on is amazing, I hope I can do it justice, my painting skills are somewhat rusty ( no pun intended). Really sweet build Chris!
Another great build!!
All sky blue would be beautiful as well as what I have in mind for a project truck idea for the 65-66 ford trucks id do red on top dark and black on the bottom and carry the theme into the truck door panels and the dash would be sweet as well great model examples by moebius again though and great build sir
Looks great man! My dad gave me his 64 F250 back in 1993 when I was in high school. It had a 223 straight six and a three on the tree.
Awesome build. I had a red 65 2 tone white over red. Need to get mine one. 👍👍
Very very nice ! Beautiful colours
What an amazing kit. So much detail. Hope to find it in Australia. Should be available. Well done.
Good job with this
Great job 👌 love the color 👌
i Love these old car kits😀
Thanks for coming along for the fun!
:)
Excellent awesome superb outstanding incredible jaw dropping eye popping amazing beautiful job you did with that truck just great keep up your great work fantastic.
Never bought a Mobius kit yet, almost bought the Chrysler 300 kit but it is expensive here in the UK. Great build, the detail and moulding on this Mobius kit looks great.
Great job Chris love the Moblis kits there great thank you once again
Outstanding as always Chris love the colour scheme.
Many thanks!
Fantastic Chris! This kit came together real nice.
Black and red would look awesome
That blue's a great color. Reminds me of the Skyline blue GM used on the square bodies. Nice job. Looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.
Yeah!
Beautiful truck
I love it!
Great build
Another great build, of a very iconic truck, well done, I hope you are keeeping safe and well.
One sweet build love the stories that go along with the build creat your own stories makes modeling so fun examples may have done a engine swap maby dented a fender replaced with junk yard parts good work as usual waiting on the next one
I have to admit my favorite part of your videos is watching you paint the transmission with Testors Silver. I can smell that enamel now.....lol
Right on!
Beautiful build, I just ordered one.
Looks awesome Chris. I just built the mobius 71 ranger almost like a snap kit it goes together so well. Thanks for sharing
Stunning build Chris, I love the color combination!
I love the Moebius kits! So many extras included. My only issue is be careful not to make your paint too thick. I find it does make things a bit more difficult for assembly. Other than that, I will continue to buy them. I hope they come out with other kits.
Great looking build Chris, that color combo makes the whole truck pop.
I have the 71' long wheel base that I'll be doing in a color combo close to that. Mine will have a confederate flag on the roof, I'm doing it like the 1:1 I had back in the mid 80's.
Keep the builds coming, always enjoy seeing what other people are building.
wow, that's a really nice kit, may be getting this one thanx!
Great looking truck model. AAA+++
Thanks 👍
BIG SHOUT OUT AGAIN TO THE PERSON WHO GAVE US THE TIRE SANDING WITH DRILL TECHNIQUE. THANK YOU
I've doing that for years using a drill press, use what ya have !
@@bruceparadis1725 can't believe I've been doing it by hand for years and never even thought about finding an easier way. HAHAHA
I was using a chuck in my drill l cobbled together with washers & nuts, but now l use the socket method thanks to Chris, l couldn't believe l didn't think of that.
@@garyslentzii2796 it's amazing at some of the lengths we will go to build our models and detail them to our own satisfaction. I'm just little annoyed with myself that for all these years I have been doing it by hand and not 1 time did I stop and think how I could save myself some of that work. Hope you and the love ones are staying safe and healthy.
@@teddyjones8027 Thanks, stay well my friend, love picking up new tips, keeps you sharp.
So true, about getting it all back in the box!
Awesome truck! Got that sixties Ford stance that says, coming thru boys!
Man! That came out nice!
THANK YOU LIKE YOUR VEDEOS
great job looks awesome , love the 2 tone
I can't believe what a steady and accurate hand you have wielding that Sharpie...my pens always seem to sputter and leave gaps...my hand can't stay on those trim lines for s**t.
Awesome 😎. That color looks like a Florida blue , awesome work as always.
SOOO KOOOOOLLLL. WOW
Mike Espo .
Chris another fantastic kit review
And a great build
Love your channel
Please keep them coming
I had a '66 F100 Custom Cab 2WD back a few decades ago. I might just have to get one.
Sharpie for the windows?! Why didn’t I think of that? Genius!
Awesome truck, I've got the 71 ranger still work but they are awesome kits super detail. Love the tips.
The Ford suspension is called TWIN I BEAM awesome job once again
Looks great! Keen to do one of these, I think I'll probably add Fireball Modelworks 8' flareside bed to it though, along with some resin skinny lug treads for the stock wheels.
Hope they do a '61-66 'Wrongbed' kit eventually, I mean it wouldn't be a huge retool.
Some years ago, I built one of those trucks. The real one. Exact same colors and everything. However, this truck has been in an accident. And the accident resulted in damage to the crankshaft pulley. The engine had all the original, 352 badges. But when we sent it to the engine shop, to have it looked at, and make sure the crank wasn't destroyed in the block. We found out something amazing. Customer was the original owner of the truck, and had never had any engine work done. Yet, the engine shop told us that, it had been bored and stroked, to a 409 cubic inch. Turns out, and we spoke with some Ford executives. People who were there at the time. Ford was developing a small block for NASCAR. And then NASCAR came down with the ruling that, all of their engines were going to be based on the Chevrolet 350 platform. So, they took all of those 409 off the shelf... And put them in pickup trucks. 500 of them. Insurance Company had paid almost $18,000, to have that truck restored from its accident. By the time we were done with it. And all of its verification had been done. It was a $92,000 truck. Because of that extremely rare, NASCAR developed, 409 cubic inch engine. That was disguised as a 352.
Nice job looks great
Hi! My dad had this exact truck and recently had to sell it. I want to get him one for Christmas but didn't realize you had to assemble it yourself... and boy, is this intricate! What are the chances you sell completed versions? :) so impressed by your craftsmanship... I could never!
Beautiful 2 tone!!i recently ordered the Morgan Automotive Detail resin conversion to make the Canadian Mercury M-100 truck.
Oh boy is that a thing? There's some great aftermarket for these Moebius kits.
VERY VERY COOL IDEA
I wonder if they could do M-250 emblems and tailgates? Combine that with Fireball's F-250 4x4 transkit for the bumpside kit, plus the 8' flareside box, and you'd have a really unusual model. I'm not super jazzed on the way Morgan have done the emblems, I would definitely have thought photo etch would be preferable for the grille letters at the least.
@@floody79 i'm guessing it was done that way to keep costs down?
@@curtisboxill-boxmansbuilds2980 yeah no doubt ease of manufacture in a familiar medium.
Nice.
Chris as steady of a hand you have, you should be building watches or disarming bombs 😊
The good thing about disarming bombs is if you make a mistake, you never have to hear about it.
Nice build, I'm also working on a truck.
Me gusta la camioneta; me va a gustar cómo quedó el resultado; saludos.
