I honestly think Nicki should have tapped into more business ventures during her hiatus. She could've released another perfume, created a makeup brand, a fashion line with a more mature and sexy appeal, expanded her moscato line, continue to establish her record label (Which does anyone know what happened with that and the girl she supposedly signed.), star in more movies, tv shows, do more collaborations and brand deals, like Nicki has the resources, the money, the connections and the fanbase to really create a business empire similar to Jay Z. Yet it seems like she didn't choose to diversify her brand. My girl really could've been a whole billionaire with Rihanna if she had played her cards right. It just seems like all her peers have moved on to better things and she's just stuck. I just feel like if she had something outside of rap, she wouldn't be so worried about everything and everyone else. Beyonce has Ivy Park and Parkwood Entertainment, Rihanna has Fenty, Drake has his own festival, Lady Gaga out here winning Oscars, and acting might I say, phenomenally in movies, Ariana is doing the whole makeup thing like bruh, she could've used these last couple of years to expand into even greater things but didn't. And at this point, I don't even know what could be said anymore.

The CRAZY part is that Latto didn’t submit the song to rap or rap performance. She submitted to MELODIC RAP due to her singing in the song. She submitted something completely different to the rap categories. Nicki submitted numerous songs to rap categories. I felt the Academy moved that song so she had a chance to get into more categories and all of her songs wouldn’t have to compete against each other. She was dead wrong

I think the issue is with Nikki is that, unlike a lot of men in rap, she didn't find a way to diversify herself so that rap wasn't the only thing she has. No shade but her acting career didn't become like Ice T, Ice Cube, Queen Latifah, or even LL Cool J. Also, while she has deals, that alcohol brand she was associated with isn't seen much or talked about anymore. Her legacy is purely rap.
Which, to me, I think makes her sensitive to the fact that, she has completely dedicated herself to music, yet she can't get the accolades. Yes, Nikki is one of the top rappers, and by far if you just name women. Yet, these new girls who don't sell get bigger pushes and opportunities than her? People like Cardi B, who are not only as messy as Nikki, but have cases, yet still are getting Pepsi commercials, getting to be in movies with Oscar buzz and cast in blockbusters? Heck, even getting TV shows? Nicki went to LaGaurdia High School - one of the top performing arts high schools. Yet, she seems to be limited to her undeniable talent when it comes to rapping.
And I think like a lot of rappers, Nicki knows the rap game isn't geared towards being in your 40s, 50s, and beyond. Yes, Jay-Z can still release an album that is not only critically acclaimed but financially successful, but Jay is an anaomly, not a rule. So at this point, I can only hope Nikki stops actively looking for a fight, letting people (particularly her fans) hype her up, and just worries about her bag and close family. Maybe that'll lead to the comeback she is overdue for outside of the music industry.
Have you ever thought Nicki doesn't want the deals she gets. Even with her acting, she could of easily expanded that but she didn't want to, she didn't even try. She stuck to her passion. Additionally, Nicki stay getting all these brand deals and sometimes it's not as much as other artists but you have to remember their probably not getting paid nearly as much for sometimes doing more than nicki does. Nicki isn't lazy but you can tell she isn't the type to do all this travelling and extraness for deals and opportunities like majority of her pics come from her house lmao.
My point is, rn Nicki's focus is on her rap but that's because she genuinely has a passion for it hence why she gets so agitated when she sees individuals like Cardi hating when she don't even write her raps.
Icl, Nicki is surviving throughout her 40s in the rap game. Her fanbase is so strong that she will never flop and she gots so many connections and influence that even if she did start to flop she knows what to do to stop that. Also, you can't deny her passion is acting when she went to high school for it vs the various others in New York. But, her career outside of music has seemed stagnant for quite sometime and I don't think it is purely based on her wanting to solely commit to rap but her not getting the opportunities she wants or thinks she deserves.

This is incorrect, in an Interview/Doc Nicki her self said that when she was younger acting is something that she really wanted to pursue and then she found rap, when she was giving side roles and cameos in movie projects she said even though they were bit parts it took a lot of time just to shoot them, and then you have that waiting period of when the project actually comes out, it was the instant gratification she missed, when she makes music she writes her verse, create the hook and boom the sequence is easier and seamless, with film there’s different takes, waiting for hours until the director needs you etc, so she her self Chose rap, don’t make it seem like she tried the acting thing and failed or couldn’t get roles because that is not the case. Nick had dabbled in many business ventures and probably the first female rapper to do so, from music, to food, to perfume, to clothing, to alcohol to even most recently gaming. Which means she can be successful at anything she chooses to pursue but that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t continue to rap, no one tells Beyoncé that she should give up music and venture out into other things or calls her one dimensional for doing music because that is just her natural passion no different to Nicki.
When Nicki had a problem with lil Kim we understood. The problem with Remy we were with Nicki. Then Cardi, Mariah Carey, latto, and so many others it’s getting tired. And using the race card with other pocs is just tiring

I couldn't agree with you more Josh! I'm not really a fan of anyone but I never understood why Nicki was deemed the best of the best. Did she break the mold...yes to an extent but Nicki can't freestyle, she can't dance, and she hasn't broken into major film. Can she write....absolutely, but a lot of these girls are bringing more than their looks and bodies. Eh. I disagree. She could make any comparison she wanted because that was the entire basis of her argument and it was a very valid one at that because Latto’s song was still in the running to be considered for a HIP HOP nomination, yet Nicki was pushed to the pop category. She also brought up Adele, Harry and Doja, in addition to Drake and Latto, yet only one person felt hit and responded as if she were being personally attacked (prior to the screenshot being tweeted out). It’s unfortunate to see Nicki tainting her legacy with feelings of gross entitlement (eg, expecting Latto to speak out against The Grammys). I agree that she is stuck in a world where she’s the sole winning female rapper, but the audience has evolved. It’s just like her clinging to the definition of a real rapper as one who writes, when this new audience doesn’t care if you write your raps, they just want to be able to do TikTok videos to them. And yes, Nicki isn’t the girl for visuals. I credit Cardi to really upping the ante on visuals and rollouts. Everyone has their strengths and what they contribute to the game. Nicki is a lyrical beast. I want her to step up her marketing game. Still waiting on the live with the girls from SFG Queensmix and the Queen Radio with the Fine9. Nicki is just dropping music with lazy marketing so the records aren’t making the impact they can.

I agree w a lot of what you said but let’s not act like Nicki doesn’t have the visuals. & I still think there are a lot of us who appreciate genuine pen game. The artists who write are always gonna be of another caliber.
I’m gonna have to disagree. She wants to see other female rappers win. However, the reality is that she is not gotten the most appreciation for her undeniable talent. Like how the hell has she not gotten one Grammy all these years? I would be annoyed if I were her too.
I think at this point she just needs to stop collaborating with these female rappers because there's always drama involved. If she collabs with a popping rap girl, people say she's riding their wave. If she collabs with unknown rap girls, then she's painted as only collaborating with girls who are not threatening to her/famous. She should just collab with pop stars and rap A-listers, focus on 5th album, and try to branch out of the music industry
