With Tager, it would seem that his hurtbox is so large that his centre is technically not in the corner than allows him to be crosses up like that. Which is messed up but CT was full of jank.
Hey, man. I have a thing for game design, and your list of "reasons why someone play 'x' archetype" was very interesting. Do you plan to continue it, especially for rushdown and puppet archetypes?
while LK did mention gatlings not working on most characters standing, CT Tager is so bad that they don't work on CROUCHING COUNTERHIT. You literally can not combo with this character, it's so bad. Hell, when they fixed it in CS, he didn't get it, he still couldn't combo neutral buttons standing until CS:Extend.
I remember people thinking Tager was good when BBCT was fresh. My group had a pair of tier enthusiasts playing grapplers for the first time because of that disinformation 😌
Juggernaut being able to cancel all normals into 2 frame command grab whiff makes him not so bad. That's the reason why he lost chains actually. That command grab was actually broken.
there's a reason why back in my early 20's when CvS2 was fresh, all my friends and I called Kyosuke, KyoSUCKe... dude got dealt a TERRIBLE hand in CvS2. shame cause we rarely get Rival Schools people outside of their series and the first(?) time they do it this bad. Batsu in Tats and Akira in SFV got a much better go at things.
Juggernaut doesn't have ground chains because he can cancel his normals into his whiffed command grab, which is just like, 2 frames. So he can do stuff like, forward + HP into whiffed command grab, and he can just do it again for pressure, since he'll be technically safe on block. He can also combo either his HP throw or command grab into his launcher (corner). And god help you if the player knows how to do the combo that ends in the command grab, so he can relaunch you or just finish you off with a super
watching this makes me think of how bad Launcher was in Vanilla DNF Duel 😭 - Her fastest non-throw normal was frame 10 - She has literally 0 overheads, all her jumping buttons hit mid (in the current version this is made up for with great corner carry and zoning, plus extremely threatening strike/throw mix in the corner) - 6MS didnt combo into anything midscreen without white life to conversion cancel, so in a game with near-ToDs her best midscreen combo was often just 5AA 5S 236MS or 5AA 4S if you wanted oki - None of her B normals could be canceled, meaning she always had to deal with A starter scaling on close hits - Her j.B projectiles had a tiny hitbox and could just randomly be minus if blocked depending on the timing of the last bullet - Launcher's one saving grace was her strong corner pressure and corner combo damage if she managed to get you there, but her midscreen combos for the most part ended with her opponent at fullscreen in a game with fullscreen neutral skips
Special shout out to the original Guilty Gear Potemkin, who is probably the worst character in all of Guilty Gear. Which is quite the statement because Potemkin couldn't catch a break for half of the series.
I don't think Juggy in Xmen vs SF is THAT bad. I mained him. You could do standing jab, strong, then super. His command grab was really good too. Canceling forward fierce with the command grab was my go to.
Juggernaut really isn't so bad. It's really hard to break throws in X-menvSF, and he does so much damage that one combo into throw reset is a dead character.
I remember throwing people throw headcrushing them to death back in the day. Granted I doubt me or anyone I was fighting was doing remotely optimized combos since no one had solved the meta yet back in 1997.
XvSF Juggernaut is easily better MvC2 Juggernaut. The reason is because XvSF Juggernaut has a command grab. As a command grab it is pretty bad (no range, can be teched) However, when whiffed, the command grab has very little recovery. This means he can cancel his normals into his command grab to drastically reduce the recovery animation. With this tech, his double fist (f+hp) becomes a much better poke and it just makes his normals safer overall. While you can’t combo into his launcher from lights in xvsf, the hitbox and active frames are much better. Not having to deal with assists is huge. He does really well against overly aggressive rushdown characters with his tank style of play. Also having access to his mediums for space control is huge. There is no need for ground chain combos. The only combo you need is button into head crush or team super which is hit confirmable. While XvSF is all about infinites, MvC2 is all about mobility and Juggernaut has some of the worst mobility in the game. He also gets eaten up alive by invincible anti air assist. The Storm vs Juggernaut match up is probably his worst match up in XvSF but it is even worse in MvC2 due to the assist system.
I was confused by the video as every time i tune on a live of XvSF on some japanese arcade stream there is people using Juggernaut. So this was the catch. Thank you for this explanation.

Iron Tager was rated high in the beginning? Which beginning!? The first 30 seconds of the games release? Chile!!!!! This brings back some memories! I was a tager main back in the BBCT days, and they were dark. So many Jin mains with their 5B jump cancel mixups, Rachel mains having free reign to do whatever & Nu........Nu was the worst for me. I had people immediately counterpick with her if I hovered over Tager in tournaments. Luckily outside of the true Nu mains I was able to beat them, but the struggle to get in close range against a character that could jump cancel all of her drive buttons wasn't a pleasant experience. I will say that despite the struggle playing him, I have to credit him for making me a better player in a way. There was one day we were all playing guilty geat accent core. My main was Potemkin, so I was more of a threat with him. I started to notice whenever my crew would switch from GG to BB my playstyle would change dramatically. With Pot I was AAing more, setting up more tick throw set ups & just overall being a complete menace since Pot was extremely good in thay game. In BB I was extremely passive, never anti aired & I was nothing more than a combo dummy in close range. One day when we switched over to BBCT, I didn't immediately realize how aggressive my Tager play was until I had a 6 game win streak against my crew. Made me realize that even those 2c was a subpar AA. I might as well use it, so I did & so the rachel main & Jin mains had to respect me more when closing the distance. Suddenly I can to the realization that I could instand block Jin's 5b and punish him with a command throw thanks to either I-frames or the quick start up of my 720. Now the Jin players were really forced to mix up with jump cancels to keep me guessing, but the instant overhead setups weren't working as much. Rachel was still a pain thanks to all of her tools, but I was able to squeeze out some wins on a regular basis. Nu.............yeah.......I f***ing hated her still. Still a frustrating matchup, and my win rate improved marginally at best. Only fought a carl main once & I'm truly grateful it was only once. Never felt so defenseless in a matchup before in my life.
Hearing about how so many characters in fighting game are just completely terrible makes me so depressed. Like what’s even the point in playing any characters you like if people are just gonna shit on you like crazy for it.
I played Kyosuke a lot, had no idea he's a bad character.. then again I never played competitively and only really got to play against CPU, so I'd have no way of knowing.
There’s something ironic about Kyosuke being one of the worst characters in CVS2. IIRC one of the people who were in charge of making CVS2 either worked on or was a fan of Rivals Schools and that’s why he’s on the cover art of the game.
Just as a guess regarding the tager crossup thing. I think it might be simply that he's too wide. It probably compares the middle point of the hitboxes of the characters to determine which side you're on. But with Tager it's possible to cross his midpoint without any excess space in the corner. Simply because his hitbox is so big.
It seems to me that Knight knows very little about fighting games, I am 5 mins in, everything he tried to say is either factually wrong or/and corrected by crofts
His experience is extremely limited to anime fighting games. Now I like anime games a lot, Xrd Rev2 and BBCF are my favorites, but I at least try to know what I'm talking about in other kinds of fighters.
X Men vs Sf Juggernaut was given a phone call to make sure he will never be that terrible in a fighting game ever again! He replied with I’M THE JUGGERNAUT BITCH! NOT THE BITCH IN A GAME! Thus MVC2 Juggernaut was born!
Baby, you haven’t been playing Ultimax 2.0 (pls do though) and it shows. Yukiko (and especially shadow yukiko) is widely considered cracked. At least A+ tier and S for shadow. Not having an anti air is the only thing that’s preventing her from being the most broken character that has ever existed. With 75 meter she has an uncounterable corner unblockable reset that hits for like 7k. I can send you videos of the best Japanese yukiko doing it multiple times
You guys hit on a very sad reality about Capcom, the fact they've made all the original Marvel vs Capcom games unable to be purchased, though most can be found as free to play emulators online (*results vary) is straight up annoying. It probably comes down to a licencing nightmare they want to avoid but those titles were arguably superior to what we have now.

I played BBCT arcade from day 1, he was rated pretty highly for about a month before the demons began to appear hahaha
Hearing about how so many characters in fighting game are just completely terrible makes me so depressed. Like what’s even the point in playing any characters you like if people are just gonna shit on you like crazy for it.
I played Kyosuke a lot, had no idea he's a bad character.. then again I never played competitively and only really got to play against CPU, so I'd have no way of knowing.
it is a shame to hear about tager, the idea of his mechanic sounds amazing for a grappler =.
i hope this becomes a series, there is a lot to cover
When blackjugger vs jmcrofts?
Calamity Trigger Iron Tagger turned out to be catastrophic travesty.
4:35 the first part of this aged well
these collars are great
the editing in this is so good
would be cool to see a video about umineko golden fantasia.
I mean vanilla SF4 is in USF4 so you get to play it without the unblockable ultra bug
That Wind Waker noise though
this content is awesome btw loving these collabs
There’s something ironic about Kyosuke being one of the worst characters in CVS2. IIRC one of the people who were in charge of making CVS2 either worked on or was a fan of Rivals Schools and that’s why he’s on the cover art of the game.
It was Hideaki Itsuno (DMC, Dragons Dogma, Star Gladiator, and Rival Schools) who directed CVS2 which can explain Kyosuke being in the game.
I reallly like the Ann wallpaper in your PS4. I will most likely main her if P5A becomes a reality.
I’d lord knight a anime fighter expert? Gonna have to tune into this channel
Been loving the broken moves series, happy to see it expanded with bad characters too!
Isn't Kyosuke's normal DP a launcher? Or cant you air combo (magic) off that if they jump in? I could swear there was more to his, I used to like him.
Oh no not my boy Kyosuke i loved him in Rival school best zoner ever.
It really does suck how many Capcom fighting games are trapped
I at least have some hope for street fighter x Tekken
Sick vid fam.
wtf is with juggernaut's hurtbox? what's the difference between blue boxes and green ones?
what's the name of the song from 4:00?
He literally says he's specifying older version of character bruh
Yall should do an Video With FGC Tier list!
Lk lookin like Chris rock in season 4 of Fargo.
As bad as Jug was in XMenVsSF, he was ok in his preceeding game, MSH (the one with the gems).
Love both of these fellows
I really enjoy this series, this is so cool
LOVE this series!
Rock Howard in garou
i use iron tager lika a champ! cant wait to show all!
Good stuff here!! 👍
CT Tager is bad enough to be a meme in Tagercord and that entire discord is a meme in itself
What's your outro song?
You guys hit on a very sad reality about Capcom, the fact they've made all the original Marvel vs Capcom games unable to be purchased, though most can be found as free to play emulators online (*results vary) is straight up annoying. It probably comes down to a licencing nightmare they want to avoid but those titles were arguably superior to what we have now.
Man, knowing how much Capcom makes it’s titles unpurchasable hurts my heart a bit :/
What are you playing xmen vs street fighter on???
Do any of you guys think jam will ever come to strive?
should look at GG1 Potemkin cuz god damn
JM seriously thinks Juggernaut is bad in XvsSF? Go watch BlackJugger play.
Hey as long as he isn’t shitting on my man Hakumen we cool
LordKnight has grey hair!? How long have I been asleep?
Let's be real.. all juggernaut mains in mvc2 only use him because of the damage glitch
