It's basically proto guard crush, and she's already got a command grab to make you scared of blocking. It would at least encourage Elphelt players to go to the grab that leaves a gap instead of just chipping you out and forcing a response

I believe that was the point Justin was trying to make when he mentioned that Genei Jin changed all of Yun's frame data and notably his crouching light kick became 2 frames during Genei Jin. Justin mentioned that the fastest button in the game is 2 frames. In other words Yun's buttons come out faster than almost every button from the rest of the cast and can only be matched not beaten in frame data. Back on GGX Dust Attack was performed by pressing S+HS and they all had the same Dust that appears when you Super Jump. So when XX was made and they created its own button they used the same name.
One thing about Genei Jin that I don't think got mentioned. 3rd Strike has a priority system for how trades are determined so heavy normals almost beat medium and medium always beat light etc. Supers have the highest priority and Genei Jin makes it so that everyone of Yun's normals has super priority so you can't challenge him during it
This series is extremely dope. though I don't know if this is up your alley or if you can find anyone who can help you out, i'd love to see some more "poverty" or "Kusoge" broken moves, Stuff like E's Laf where characters like Alcott have Super busted normals, or the best non-metered DP in any game ive played. Seeing justins inputs on moves everyone knows is broken like genijin and learning how and why was super duper interesting! keep up the good stuff.
It's great to get old school players like Jwong on board for this series cause that's where you get the jank and cheapest things that is lost in history
For elphelt you forget to mention that the shotgun shot counts as a projectile but you can't blitz it. That max range should have been the metric for blitzing all projectile distances but you can't.
I wish these games had a function in which you could play whichever patch version you wanted. Kind of like USF4. Granted if you wanted to play against someone they would have to either select the same version or allow select all version to play against. I think that'd be interesting for nonranked online or local player versus and training modes. It's a shame we can't go back and see some of these jank moves in their original glory or inglorious however you want to look at it.
Throwing a guess out there. The slow fall mechanic is acting as an animation cancel that happens immediately after the first frame of the fierce. Magneto doesn’t have slow fall so it doesn’t trigger as an animation cancel.

Zangief launcher in xvsf for the easiest infinte just two buttons, Juggernaut xvsf another easy inf throw in the corner to constant forward heavy punch, wolverine speedy mode in mvsf if you activate it when other character about to come in you can cross them up and land easy 1 hit heavy punch 100% reset, mvsf omega strike covers long distance can retract to not get punished, powerstone falcon and ayane tracking specials you need practice dodging those
Honestly, Elphelt needs to come back for Strive. I don't know if that works with the lore, but it'd be so easy to fix her stance stuff and I think it'd just be genuinely nice to have another Stance character that's not Leo doing weird crazy BS. Besides, it feels like she kind-of deserves a chance to redeem herself by being actually fair, right? And Strive is nothing if not balanced feeling (for the most part). I'm imagining you get stance move, you have the light hits and the gun, but maybe she has an ammo counter like Happy Chaos that you need to leave stance to reload. So you can still do big gun damage, but your pressure is way more limited and each missed shot is making you need to re-stock resources you could have saved to use for damage. Keep the grab and throw in the grenade stuff for basic Oki setups and tricky plays, and that honestly feels like a pretty solid retooling of the character. Maybe take away the sniper rifle and instead she can knock the actual grenade around or manually detonate it with the Shotgun for bonus damage and a guard crush? That honestly feels like it'd be a pretty fitting logical way to do things that keeps her solid while still fixing the main problem of "Shotgun can keep going forever until command grab hits."

I love her actual combos and stuff, but her 'win condition' is just a bit weird feeling, I think.

@@metroidgus Huh... I was expecting them to bust out a new character soon, but what are the odds? I'm really wondering how legit this leak is, though. The design changed things up a lot, so it'd be a weird fake, but it's really hard to tell when we just have a few stills to go off of.

@@FlyXcur She's really cool, but I'm a bit mixed. Her ranged stuff is sick as heck, but her rekkas feel weird. Like you can loop guesses and they're kind-of unsafe, but you have to know what to do and stuff....
It's all personal preference, but the gameplan just feels kind-of awkward at times. I love her actual combos and stuff, but her 'win condition' is just a bit weird feeling, I think.
