I even told my mom about it and she was-to be frank-not even slightly surprised for she already knew I am "extraordinarily" emotionally mature, and, apparently, she said the younger her resonates with me. :D

I tend to hide my feelings because I get hurt easily. So I come out cold and blank to people. I also never ask for help because I’m used to being alone. When they say ‘It’s a joke’ or ‘Come on just take a joke’ and they really do mean it I do it right back to them and walk away.

I got around that score too. Growing up, my emotions weren't validated. Got bullied by most of my family. One of my oldest memories of that was my grandmother harassing me to the point of tears, then asking if I wanted a "crying towel." And when I tried to stand up for myself my uncle scolded me for not respecting her.
Now that I'm an adult living on my own I have no connection to almost any of my family, and no friends besides one that lives out of state. I much prefer my own company.

I scored 35, not what I was expecting. I expected something extremely low, though I probably would have gotten much lower if I didn't have therapy to better identify my emotions than I used to. The most striking thing to me is that emotionally mature people are not forces of nature that are never fazed by tragedy, if anything, they feel it more, or to be more accurate, understand their emotions and their causes more clearly. An emotionally mature person goes through the motions of feeling loss, pain, and hurt, and then moves on.

    EM: 34
I somewhat expected it to be on the higher end of the scale. Throughout high school I worked on being the best friend for my friends and associates while making sure that my boundaries were not crossed. I mostly take responsibility for my actions as well, after I turned 18 (I'm 20 now) I made sure to have owning and taking responsibility for my mistakes as part of my moral code for the rest of my life. On top of this, another thing to consider is that when looking at these score brackets, you can take the quiz again and again as you age to see if you are progressing... What I am trying to say is that life is a journey to nowhere really but it's always good to know if you are growing with time, on top of this you should pat yourself on the back if you do end up scoring higher the next time because some people can take literally their entire life to mature even just a little bit.

    emotional maturity is 37
I feel that's mostly accurate. A lot of my faith in self is in upheaval at the moment due to the ongoing process of working through some severe mental/emotional trauma and while under ongoing stress (the kind that doesn't go away for weeks or even months) my empathy does shut down and I enter survival mode.
But despite my own troubles I do what I can to look at other people's perspectives. There's just a group of people who's perspective I simply can't comprehend even though I've known them for 10+ years

I consider myself emotionally mature and self aware, but I have issues when it comes to evaluating myself sometimes. When accessing a situation, I put most of the blame on myself and almost never on the person of fault, usually accepting that it’s the other person’s fault after talking about it with someone.

I got a 42, so I fit in the high emotional maturity level, which the way it describes, it mostly fits. I do always try to put myself in other people's shoes. Like I've been planning a date lately and every decision I think about in terms of what to do and where to go, I try to put myself in the guy's shoes and wonder how he'd feel about it. I also try to do so before doing anything, wondering how someone on the receiving end will feel.
The one question about being aware of my own emotions, I had a quick flashback to elementary school. I was naïve about a lot of things, including my own emotions. I can laugh about it now, but it's still embarrassing to think about thinking back. 😂😅

    • @ValiantStranger12

I was just always aware what emotion was what. And I usually try to see things from others POV cause I want to at least try and get both sides before I initiate in conflict. Whenever I clearly understand others POV but still decide to conflict is when I disappoint myself cause it's just petty

    • @LadyOMyth
      @LadyOMyth 2 роки тому +1

@@ValiantStranger12 I'm glad you were but at a very young age, there were some that I just couldn't. The main example that comes to mind was when I was in fourth grade. I had a very close friend and when I saw him after the summer, he didn't change but something felt off with me whenever I saw him. I registered it as fear and spent an entire year running away from him. (To be fair, at that young of an age, that feeling is usually something to be scared of.) I was transferred to another school and didn't see him for some time but it wasn't until middle school and I had experienced a similar kind of feelings (though not as strongly) and realized that I had a crush on him. I remember figuring this out vividly as I had been going through my locker and accidentally hit my head while standing up the moment I figured it out. It was a shock to me because my entire life up until that point, I was cautious around boys except for him. I didn't see him as a boy. He wasn't one to me, just my friend. I don't even think he did anything. One day I just fell for him. Fast forward about 11-12 years after first feeling this way and I'm planning a date with him next month. What are the odds?
I feel I'm more in tune with emotions and putting myself in other people's shoes due to my experiences. I can register certain feelings because I've felt them before. I know to put myself in other people's shoes because I've seen and been in situations where someone did something similar and it didn't go well or it did. I think it was also how I was raised. My mom and I both wear our hearts on our sleeves and knowing how we feel when others treat us a certain way, she and my dad taught me to always treat others the way I'd want to be treated and to put myself in other people's shoes. I've personally elaborated on their teachings for my own personal moral code, but their teachings alone without that have had a lot to do with my emotional maturity as much as my experiences have.

  • @avi.69
    @avi.69 Рік тому +2

I got 43! :) and I'm really feel happy about it bcs I wasn't so good at managing my emotions before, I can say for a fact that if I took this test just a year ago, I probably would've gotten 11-20 or something. I didn't have the best childhood or the best fostering environment for growth of my self esteem and social skills, I want to share how I overcame it even if it can help just 1 person, I would always find myself toxic, acting on impulses, being insensitive to other bcs I was just mad at the world for few personal reasons, I would always engage in needless arguments and loved to make others look wrong, but then I couldn't live with myself bcs I wasn't like this as a kid, my life had gotten harder after my high school and a lot of horrible stuff that happened including losing some loved ones, and tbh I was never too rational, just happy as a kid so I wasn't toxic. The guilt of feeling like a villain made me self reflect, I spent a lot of time with just myself, lets safely assume that past 1.5-2 years while preparing to get into Uni, I started to notice patterns on how I react on certain scenarios and I gained experience, I would make up scenes in my mind and asked myself, "how would I react?" and I started replacing every negative emotional outburst with a rational reaction that would be to try to look into wider perspective than my own. I taught myself to grow more tolerant and I spent a lot of time trying to put myself in others' shoes, I mostly lived by myself bcs I wanted to give myself some time and when I did talk to ppl, I tried to stay as rational as I could. It feels like its impossible to be better at regulating your emotions but I can tell that its more like training a muscle by resisting to react emotionally, 1 thing I did that was a big mistake was I tried to cast aside my emotions and that took a toll on me, so my advice is don't try to be unemotional, emotions is what makes you human, rather try to own them and not be emotional in social settings. Think with mind, not your heart because when heart is broken, brain gives the best advices. AND give yourself the time you need, no matter how long, its been a long journey for me and I'm not gonna stop here, it takes time! Be patient, it gets better :) and try to stay as optimistic as you can, if you catch yourself too pessimist then practise blind optimism, despite its demerits for a few months and then bring balance to it! And it does get better, we atch an entire anime or web series even if its slow or boring at the beginning just bcs someone tells us that it gets better, how about we apply that to our lives? It does get better, just never stop to try to improve yourself!

I took the test two times. The first time I realized I felt bad about something I did in the past and that low mood caused me to answer the questions differently, which gave me the result of 29 points. After my realization I took the test again, reflected on other parts of my past while doing so and I scored 37 points.
I have a lot of work to do. In the past I was emotionally immature and over and underreactive. I still have some of that tendency left. I hurt people I loved and I'm still in the process of recovering what happened between us and forgive myself how I reacted to them. Traumabonding created and deepened already excisting wounds from our past. I'm glad I found out before I turned 30.

    Hi ! I'm from Russia
I started watching these educational videos half a year ago, and I appreciate the work that you have invested. But I started watching the Russian-language version of the channel. Everyone is aware of what is happening between Ukraine and Russia (I am against any aggression from Russia). It 's scary , but even scarier is that a lot of people are flying accusations in our direction ( Although we didn 't know about anything and it didn 't depend on us ) A couple of weeks ago, the owner of the Russian - language channel changed the preview to a video in which it was written that " While you are watching the video on this channel, Ukrainian civilians are dying from the bombing of the Russian Federation . "
Recently, all the videos were deleted, and two videos appeared in their place, in which ALL RUSSIANS were accused of the war.
This channel is in your OUR FRIENDZ (it will be knocked out of the list)
My question is: how do you feel about this situation? I 'm just curious
( I apologize for such a large text , but I had to clarify everything for you )

Hi! I’m from America (California, specifically) and I would just like to start this off by saying, I am so sorry for all accusations that ALL Russians want to invade Ukraine, ALL Russians think like Putin, and ALL Russians are not sorry for Putins actions. I know that there are plenty of Russians who think differently than Putin, and want to help Ukraine. Just wanted to say that :)
Now, to answer your question. I feel that what happened with the preview is unacceptable. It’s almost like people are *shaming* Russians for what their government did, not what *they* did. Do you know who the owner of the Russian-Language channel is? I hope it isn’t the same owner as the English Channel.

I got a 42. This helped me realized a lot more about emotionally maturity, it's not just treating others with respect but doing so accordingly to yourself its actually why my score got so bumped down because i'm so used to bullying and putting down myself. So Remember guys, you matter as well. Please take care of yourself and know your strengths. As humans we tend to acknowledge more of the bad because its things we tend to focus on more because we need to improve. Trust me, treating yourself better can help you treat others better. And treating yourself doesn't mean you have to do positive affirmations or anything like that Here's what I do. Treat yourself to things you enjoy like I listen to music. remind yourself of the progress you've done and how far you've come. And last but not least remind yourself of how loved you are. Take care all of you

I have broken myself in pieces to accept myself truly. When life gave tough times and had no one beside me to support , love or even appreciate my existence, every human brain would have done the same. So to be emotionally mature and understand yourself truly we have to go through lot of pain and emotional exhaustion , which nobody deserves. I just hope everybody to be happy to their core ❤️

I expected it to be way lower, I have a lot of problems. Anytime I go out somewhere I worry something will happen to me, my family, or anything in general. I worry that whenever I’m alone in a car waiting for my friend to come back, he’ll ditch me. I struggle to forgive people and I don’t show compassion or empathy for people when they are having a hard time, most of the time in public I always act happy and like I’m always having a good time and I’m just the funny guy everybody knows and loves. But when I’m in private that’s when everything kicks in. I can’t tolerate being alone, I have anger issues but I always want things to work out. I know right and wrong and sometimes I try to do the right thing, I think of doing it, I say I’ll do it, then my anger issues kick in and I make the wrong choice. I always worry I’ll do something bad or I’ll fail and get held back. What if I hurt my little brother? I worry that he won’t be fine, I seriously injured him, I’ll get in trouble, I won’t be able to live with this anymore, but I keep it all under lock and key away from anyone else. The main thing that keeps me happy is a stuffed animal. It helps me in a way that I can’t describe.

So for decades now, even if I was to believe I was worthy, and I do believe that more now, I still believe that no one really finds me worthy because of the things my father would say to me as a child. I believe it's etched into my subconscious and that's just a part of who I am.

some of these questions don't really deal with emotional maturity and just deal with whether or not you are depressed/traumatized. I have a low self worth, but I process emotions more maturely than just about everyone I know, and always have. Some questions are questionable when it comes to maturity. For instance, trying to find the cause of the emotional discomfort isn't always a pragmatic or beneficial option to pursue in the moment. Sometimes its a matter of powering through the situation and assessing things afterward. I did eight years in the army. There was very often no time to get to a root cause of your emotional problem, or, more often than not, the root cause was the job itself.

I have a pretty good idea of what my emotional maturity level is became I've been at certain emotional level for years.
My emotional maturity level is stuck in my late teens to early 20's for years on end.
The cause of my emotional security level is
Abusive mental health treatment, and abusive boyfriend treatment from an abusive ex-boyfriend.

    I got a 24. I really was expecting a higher number.
Goes to show that I still have a lot to learn and that I shouldn't feel like I'm quite there yet.

adbaaaabab I got a 44. Emotionally I usually feel like Spock. Just when things annoy me beyond reconciliation in I am in a real conundrum then I go full blown Vulcan. Sometimes I feel a little Romulan but turns out they are actually Vulcan as well just act differently. Anyways it was hard for me for a long time to get emotionally strong as I have gotten. But it seemed to happen over a short period of time of all those that were supposed to be my friends repeatedly disappointed me. I just eventually found it wasn't worth expressing my emotions to those not worth expressing them to. I really like this channel I really never open up like this on UA-cam.

I got 31. I think some of my struggles (the ones I choose d & e for) ar due to self esteem & growing up around toxic people. I get very upset when I hear people say bad things about me. Because most of the time it is a lie or misunderstanding and I can't really understand how or why they would see or think of me that way.

34 - I thought I was going to get a little lower, but I’ll take this, because I have grown. But I’ve always been aware of emotional health growing up, even though my parents didn’t know anything about emotional health 👍🏾

34 - seems about right. Had to grow up too quickly and shoulder a lot but because of that I've internally repressed a lot of my emotions and I'm not always great at expressing them as a result. I'm a work in progress.

I got 34.... There's still a lot of room for improvement... Good thing I'm stil young. (I only just entered high school this year) but doing this test rly makes me want to improve myself more! I need to push myself more so that I won't make my mom disappointed in me anymore ☺️

I AM SHOCKED THAT I GOT 40. My ex and my ex best friend called me immature because of how I reacted for triggering me. I was right. I'm not emotionally immature. They were. What a relief!
