Toyota has introduced its latest hybrid-only Camry lineup in Australia, bringing a new generation Hybrid Electric powertrain, fresh design updates, and significantly enhanced technology features. At the core of the new Camry is Toyota’s fifth-generation 2.5-liter Hybrid Electric powertrain, which makes its debut in the Australian market. This updated powertrain provides increased power and improved driving performance while keeping fuel consumption impressively low at just 4.0 liters per 100 kilometers.

According to Sean Hanley, Toyota Australia’s Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Franchise Operations, the updated Camry addresses customer demands for a more efficient and stylish vehicle. The combination of fuel economy, upgraded features, and improved driveability makes this model a strong contender in the mid-sized sedan segment. Hanley highlighted that customer interest in Toyota’s Hybrid Electric technology continues to grow, and the new hybrid-only Camry lineup is a direct response to that trend.
The 2.5-liter engine and the 100-kilowatt electric motor work together to deliver a combined output of 170 kilowatts, with a focus on both performance and efficiency. With the ability to drive short distances on electric power alone using the EV mode, drivers benefit from reduced fuel consumption and lower carbon emissions.
In addition to the powertrain, the suspension and steering have been fine-tuned to offer a more engaging ride without sacrificing comfort. The Camry also features improved braking performance through an advanced regenerative braking system.
