As a window tinter, I'll let you in on a little insight on this car since a large amount of people love to get their windows tinted. The windows on this car may have a coating on inside of them that Toyota and Lexus has put on a couple of models such as the NX and the Venza. You can tell if the glass has it by spotting "UVU" in the embedded stamp on the bottom corner. If it says UVS, it usually doesn't have the added coating. The problem is that when we tint windows, during the prep stage, we usually use a scrub pad or a stainless razor blade to knock off any adhesive or debris that will show up in the tint job.. well doing so can scratch the coating. The tint shop will then be on the hook to either replace the glass or spend a lot of time scraping it all off. The coating is supposed to reduce the UV transmitted through the glass but I'm sure that window film does a better job, especially if you get a nice nano-ceramic tier. A lot of shops know about this and don't want to touch them due to the liability. If they do, they will let you know that if you ever have the tint removed, the coating will be damaged and the window will then need to be replaced. And they better do it perfectly on the first try!
can you put on a tint without removing the coating? I am saying this if someone wanted to do the tint themselves and not putting the reputation of tint company at at risk
it can be tinted without damaging the coating, but if you mess up or get a fiber in it and have to pull the tint off you might be in some trouble. It's not a good one to learn how to tint windows on. The rear window with defrost won't have the coating, or if it has the darkened factory privacy rear windows same thing, no coating. It's mostly found on front doors.
Ive had the crown Signia limited w the tech package for about 3 weeks now. This replaced my 2012 Outback. Took on a road trip and put on 1100 miles. I can verify that this is a very smooth, quiet and comfortable touring car. City mpg is 40 mpg. Highway is 35mpg at 77mph. It’s almost as quiet as the wife’s Lexus Es300h(2022) but it does ride more plush and the seats front and back are much more comfortable in the Signia. I paid $56k otd in California. Love it so far.
Is it smooth over bumps? I have a 2013 Venza with large rims and high-profile tires and hate the ride... I can feel just about every little thing I drive over
Brother, I’ll say it again. You have the most intelligent and thorough car review channel on UA-cam. I’m seriously going Crown shopping in Spring ‘25 . Many Thanks for what you do for us.
Had the opportunity to meet AMD when I visited his shop. Had travelled form Ontario, Canada early August and I must say he's a very "down to earth person". Thankyou for taking the time to meet up with your busy schedule.
Helped my mom find, test, and buy a new car this weekend. We very quickly landed on a Crown Signia XLE in this Stormcloud color. Only option added was the all weather liners (Illinois) and im so excited for her coming from her base model older rav4. It blew me away with the interior quality and im very happy to hear all this information about the parts and drivetrain being proven, not new, and easy to source parts. I think shes going to have this car for 15+ years.
I've always been a fan of the Japan Crowns. It's good to see it in the states. Toyota should send you a marketing stipend, this channel has been a godsend for Toyota and Lexus fans like me.
Happy! Happy! Sold my 2021 RAV4 Prime XSE, and just ordered this Crown Signia Limited in Oxygen Wt, w/ black seats! I did a test drive in both the XLE, and Limited. Being a big music fan, I had to do the Limited as I felt it was an overall better ride, quite, and with the JBL speakers, and all door lock/unlock too was a large consideration. This will no doubt be the last car I will drive as I am getting older. 😁
I'm surprised the ride exceeded that of the XLE with those larger 21 inch wheels. I really like this car and it is top of my list when i replace my 2020 Mazda CX-5
Best car knowledge on UA-cam, more than just engine/trans other basic things. I have a mechanic like you in Margate Florida, he’s always busy as heck too. Y’all are god sent, cheers.
AMD knows the small items to look for that no one else pays attention to when examining a vehicle. His knowledge surpasses most all out there! Thanks for sharing with us Ahmed
We purchased the Crown Signia and took it on a two day trip. It was the first time we took such a trip and didn’t crawl out of the car stiff or sore. Extremely comfortable. Love the technology. We got over 39 mpg on the road. It’s quiet with lots of room for luggage, at least for two adults. If it does not think you are holding onto the wheel it will nag you to death. I’m pleased with the lane following overall.
The emotion that you have is the same when smartphone screen size is 5 inch. Who would need that or putting next to the ear, it looks ridiculous... blah blah blah.
This video helped me to decide to pick up a an XLE yesterday for 44,700 in FL yesterday (22,700 OTD after trading in my 23’ Si) love the tan interior, it’s the perfect boomer-mobile for my early 30’s lol - Thank you for the very thorough review
The official body type for the Crown Signia is "Wagon". 😉 I purchased mine and the first road trip was from Martinsburg, WV to Mystic, CT. I drove no more than 5 MPH over the speed limit and the fuel economy for the trip was 40 MPG. It's a dream to drive.
That's random, I've been to both places. Martinsburg has an inexpensive Outlet Mall I visited as a kid and Mystic has the Seaport Museum and a great summer sailing camp I also went to as a kid. 😊
What a great review! Have been watching your channel for a couple of years now, and you’ve never steered me wrong. Was considering purchasing a Signia, now I am convinced! I put a deposit on one that is coming in in a couple of weeks. Keep doing what you’re doing, and God bless you!
I bought an XLE based on AMD’s review (spot on) but one correction, the XLE production model does include the Lock/Unlock on the Rear Doors as well like the Limited. I have learned so much watching the videos, it has helped me understand what to look for and what’s involved repairing and maintaining my Toyotas when i talk to my Toyota Service Advisor/Mechanic. Thank you AMD for your teaching and reviews, may the Lord continue to bless you.
It may well be that it was NOT a feature when he reviewed it but included in later made cars of the same model. That happened with the Avalon series due. Sometimes during a production run later cars would get a feature not included earlier.
I’m looking at the XLE as well, still trying to decide of making the jump to Limited is worth it. All you lose is JBL, Sun roof, and adaptive lights right?
Does it work on the rear hatch also? I used to own a high-trim Prius with it on all 5 doors, now own a low-trim Prius Prime with it only on driver's door. My own choices, in order of preference would be: 1: Both front doors only 2. Driver's door only 3. Four doors (but not hatch) 4. Both front, plus hatch 5. Driverr plus hatch 6. All 5 doors. My reasoning is that on a car with it on all 5 doors, you have no way of physically checking what is locked, without putting your fob far away or in a Faraday cage/bag/box. You grab the handle to check it, and it unlocks. If any one of the 5 locks is malfunctioning, someone can get into the car. How often do you check the function of let's say the rear passenger door lock, without your fob on you? For me, basically never. In all cases, if the driver's door malfunctions, you have a problem. But if the front passenger door lock malfunctions, you can normally at least see the orange "unlocked" indicator while locking the car from outside the driver's door,. It would be nice to be able to lock the car from either front door, then check the rear door on that side, while being able to see the orange indicators on the opposite side if there was a problem. I never want touch unlocking of my hatch, because I value being able to lock it (from either the driver's door or the fob) and then check that it is physically locked.
Dude, I'm a great fan of yours and it's due to your great reviews on the Toyota Rav 4, I went to buy myself a Rav 4 Hybrid during the year 2022 and I'm still keeping that Rav 4 Hybrid as It's a very wonderful Compact SUV. So far, you are the best who does really down to earth reviews on vehicles
The salesman we worked with, Eddy, said you should watch the car care nut and see his review. I was already sold on this but it is the wifey's choice because it is hers and I had the same type of impression you presented, It is a great intersection of quality, reliability and luxury with a modern design, very practical for what it is. Nice overview, it is a sweet ride.
i have a '25 signia limited and for a car with so many features it feels surprisingly comfortably simple. It is a pleasure to drive. In my mind it's a Camry wagon with more luxurious comforts than a subaru or vw and better gas mileage and reliability than a bmw or volvo. My last volvo's check engine light would go off every time the dealer needed to make a boat payment. I think Toyota got it right, if you want a third seat, opening sunroof, off the line bragging rights, a real off-road suv, or a prestigious emblem on the bumper, it is a rich market to buy something else.
I don’t think that you can talk about the reliability of a BMW versus Volvo. VOLVO is a way better car. I am on my ninth Volvo. The one I have now is 15 years old and I have never had any problems with it as I do the regular maintenance bmw are Junk
Got ours 2 weeks ago, XLE, made in Japan and proven engine tech was top of our list. We had the panoramic in our last car, never used it. Thanks for confirming we made the right choice!
@@mikejones-rc4lvI want one, I’m not too excited about the high interest rates though. What kills me about the xle is no digital rear view mirror. I love having one
Thank goodness Toyota understands that people want buttons for the radio and HVAC. No one wants to hunt for icons on a computer screen just to change the radio station or temperature. It’s so much easier and quicker to keep your eyes on the road and feel for a familiar button.
I just bought a 2025 Crown Signia Limited, and I'm pleased. Road noise is quieter than the 2025 Camry XLE but engine noise is equally loud in both when accelerating at speed onto the freeway. The Camry has slightly quicker acceleration and weighs less, but I was impressed by both vehicles. It felt very comfy, easy and familiar handling the 2025 Camry b/c I've driven an old school '02 Camry XE for 23 years. I REALLY enjoy the height difference, luxurious look and feel of the inside and the EXTREMELY comfy seats in my Crown. Mine came with a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor as part of the Advanced Technology Package, which also includes a review mirror camera in case the cargo blocks your view. The seats actually swayed me towards the Crown but it was all of the unnecessary doo dads that sealed the deal. I have yet to appreciate the technical stuff like the shift lever, TSS & cruise control features or the darn A/C and fan controls. I'm an old school middle-aged driver in that sense that likes comfort over speed except for around tricky corners and empty roads then I'm a speed-racer! I'm also gonna spring for the spare-tire.
I looked at one of these in August with the tech package and black roof. It is such a beautiful car. When you look at it in person you see exactly what TCCN is talking about in this review. I prefer the exterior SUV look of the Rav4, but i prefer the interior on this car. It is definately Lexus light. Someone people will say the vehicles they build in Japan aren't better but i RESPECTFULLY disagree. Great review AMD
I have Lexus UX250H. I have the glazed caramel interior which is similar to the tan. It was built in Japan and I appreciate the excellent build quality.
This car is everything The Car Care Nut wants in the car. The rear liftgate contruction is what he says all cars need to have. No doubt, this car is an great example of a forever car. If you don’t want to buy a new car for the next few decades, this is your car!
lol…. “Forever car” that’s funny bc once Toyota figures out how to build an EV (or is acquired by BYD) they will tell you ICE is terrible and you must spend a fortune to keep this boat anchor on the road. I used to own Prius, Prius Prime, Corolla, Camry but now two Tesla’s - far better than a Toyota (i was shocked once i made the switch - Tesla are the new engineering marvels, Toyota is lost)
@@LogueS7 Tesla interiors are disgusting. You have to use the display to control everything. The display looks like a cheap flat screen TV they just threw in at the last minute. Being able to use buttons to operate ALL functions like this car has is ten times better for most people. These things prevent me from buying a Tesla plus the manufacturing defects so common on many Tesla cars. Just not Toyota quality. And yes i do like the new Tesla exterior upgrade that was long overdue.
@LogueS7 for one, Toyota doesn't want to build EVs. Second, Toyota is the biggest automotive manufacturer on the planet, they are not going to be bought. They have a specific formula that works incredibly well for them
@LogueS7 this is a troll,a bot, or he hasn't owned the Tesla for long. I can tell you most Tesla owners are not satisfied once they get over the halo of having a new car, especially once they start breaking, and they're ruined financially once they attempt to trade them in for pennies on the dollar. You spout whatever nonsense you want, but you know or will find out soon. Lol
@LogueS7 Toyota sold 10.8 million vehicles in 2023 more than any other vehicle manufacturer on the planet. Yep they are lost alright. They don't lead in EV sales because they didn't want to sell people vehicles with no range. They have solved that issue and probably will lead in EV sales soon enough.. Toyota is lost ? pfft.🙄
Drove this yesterday and wow was the drive was very smooth and quiet. The interior is next level compared to the platinum Highlander interior, especially the leather.
I have had the XLE in the "Storm Cloud" gray for three months now. It's everything you describe. Great mileage, smooth ride, dream to drive. I anticipate having this car for a long time. Thanks again for a great review!
Really expensive for a car... How is a young family supposed to afford this? Or a young person trying to survive? How is a young person with no resources supposed to survive and get ahead? There are no real economic vehicles. For you to get a decent roi on this vehicle you would have to drive it like 400k miles over 30 years which is really long for a car.... Also the higher the price initially the more capital you have to have to even buy it, or the more you lose to interest. I would love just a simple fwd 4 cylinder wagon.... Something so young people can have vehicles that can do basic work like door dash, delivery, or if they need to move apartments they have room to carry basic things. Just a simple fwd, wagon, 4 cyl, and can maybe tow 1000lbs here and there. That way if you have to move across state you can do it easier. Then do that for under $30k. I think an older Minivan still makes sense for more people.
The quality of this car is Lexus quality because this is a Toyota Crown after all. I perceive Toyota Crowns as better built Toyotas and I am very happy see them here on the States. I love to see that they really cared to put the quality into this upscale lineup. This car screams quality from every angle. The paint job and color selection are spot on. The materials used both, on the interior and interior make for an all around premium, great looking car. As always, great review 💯👍🏼
Excellent review. Thank you for covering the finer, but important details throughout the car. These are important to many of this, and most reviewers miss them. You now have me shopping a car that was not on my list at all, before viewing your video. I will also be watching your other posts. Thank you
Selling my 2022vrav4 hybrid. I find it noisy even at cruising speed. I really hope it is quiet. I wish I could give up my rear heated seats for rain sensing wipers. You have to go to the limited for that. May the Lord bless you too! Great video
Excellent Video! Every time I test drive a customer in one, I want one even more! Very Lexus like in its drive and luxury level. The inside space is perfect for camping /sleeping as the seats, cargo and fold out are well over 6 ft and flat.
I am a very BIG fan of the Signia. The inside space would be even 'more perfect' if Toyota provided a traditional 40/20/40 rear seat which could slide and recline rather than those gimmicky flaps. A 40/20/40 seat would provide ample space for 4 passengers and allow skis, fishing rods etc. to be carried along with luggage. To compound this oversight on the new Signia, Toyota has dropped the 40/40/40 second row from the new 4Runner and failed to include it with the Land Cruiser.
AMD, grateful for your very useful information in fact it's the most honest review of this car on YT. Everything detail about this engine review is on spot. In fact I'm thinking of buying this car in December cause I now know everything about it. Great review AMD! Keep being honest as always thanks
We live in an area many uphills and downhills road and quick paddle shift downshift is what I missed when I drive my LC250. Having this is the Signia is great function.
I was considering buying a Corolla hybrid and planned to buy a spare since it didn't include one, but I didn't like the idea of the spare eating up the trunk space. I like how the Crown Signia is big enough to have a compartment for a spare. 👍
Well said AMD! As someone coming from Asia where Toyota Crown models are known as luxury cars, I think this car truly captures the original essence of Crown lineage 👑 , while built with proven modern technologies. This is a bargain over Lexus NX.
Have had my XLE for 2 weeks and am glad I got that trim the only thing I thought I’d miss out on is the glass roof but not with the design that includes the bar. One correction, the XLE does have rear door smart key sensors. The car is so refined in its driving characteristics and supremely comfortable. The seats and sound insulation are amazing. And the practical feature in the cargo area are super convenient. Very, very happy with this purchase. It definitely feel Lexus but without some of the bling. Even on the XLE there are many standard features that cost more on Lexus models so am pleased with the value too.
Yes heated and cooled seats. Love that they automatically adjust. Just leave everything in auto mode and set a temp and the car adjusts the heating or cooling of seats. You can manually adjust them too. And have been averaging 40 mpg. I live in a very hilly area so might be possible to get even better mileage.
I have driven the ‘25 Crown Signia Limited for about a month now. Approximately 700 miles. I have the same observation with the torque. The engine “feels” like a V6 when you are driving in Normal and Sport Drive mode. The full-time AWD does feel like you are actually in an SUV. Turning radius is very good, if I have to compare this to my previous 2016 Avalon. The seat is comfortable and we have been stuck in traffic with it. I hope that Toyota will come out with the “Platinum” model and maybe add the power steering column, HUD and maybe the retractable roof. I have been only using 91 octane for fuel and I have been getting 35mpg City and 42 mpg HWY. My only complaint is the manual steering column and no roof racks/accessories.
These are NOT full-time AWD. Rear motor only kicks in when needed. I have owned 32 new cars over my 76 years in earth --Domestic, German, and Japanese. My Signia WAGON tops all the cars I've owned. This is a keeper!
Actually that panelbar is for rollover protection & the good thing with the glass roof not opening is no more annoying leaking sunroof & wet moldy floors & trunk
Despite it being a Hyundai trend, I'm very HAPPY to see more manufacturers moving the headlight locations LOWER so we blind less people with the new LED's everyone is using.
Lower mounted headlights blind more because their angle to the road is smaller for a given projection distance, therefore when car articulates on bumps and uneven road, lower mounted headlights will project further.
That is a very attractive and well made vehicle, and I'm sure it will be reliable and hold its resale value quite well. It's very nice good job, Toyota.
I like AMD so much that I took his advice to buy a Crown Signia XLE. As he said, it doesn't make sense for the Limited having sunroof but can't take air in. Correction: the smart keys work for all doors of the XLE. Addition: On XLE you can use smart phone to remotely unlock/lock doors and start/stop the engine. You can also open/close the lift gate hand-free with a kick to the right side bottom. 9:47
unless you are buying it for your wife and she wants the wheels and the radio. Very reasonable additions without the tech package, that is the sweet spot for us.
I took my mom car shopping and we both loved this thing. I'd never want one myself (I drive a gr86 currently) but it fit her wants and needs perfectly. I didn't know about the kick for the rear lift gate so I'm glad to find that out
I bought a 2024 Venza XLE before the price increase that will come with the Crown Signia. I am 100% pleased with both the car and the powertrain. Smooth with adequate performance is the way to describe these vehicles..
Don't think this was even mentioned but what I really like is the fact that the front grill area is not plastered with chrome the way so many cars (and I mean you Toyota!) have been over the last decade. Is this phase finally over?
AMD, First of all, I am sorry to see your beloved Venza is no longer on sale.😢😢 I hoped for it but never really expected Toyota to bring the new Crown wagon to North America. 🤞🤞I was thrilled to hear it was coming. 🥳🥳 Then I was 🤬😡 when I learned Toyota Canada would not sell the cheaper, more sensible Signia XLE in our market despite the indisputable fact we are the biggest wagon FANS on the continent. I hope the Signia sells well and encourages Toyota to bring more wagons over here. After all, they build 3 versions of the Corolla wagon as well as their fantastic ProBox that could have singlehandedly saved the Scion brand. 🤩🤩
I appreciate the mechanic's learned eye explaining what this is: a Toyota among Toyotas. I wonder if it is actually sold as a Lexus model under a different name in other markets. Also interesting to see a higher-model Toyota without dark tinting in the rear windows. It's rare. I've been telling a friend who is moving to California and worried about crime to get a station wagon with clear rear windows. That way thieves can clearly see that the cargo area is empty. These days, on the West Coast, they just break windows just to see if there is anything valuable.
It is a relatively new model sold as a Crown in Japan and other markets. In Japan the Signia is called the Estate/ They have 4 Crown variants in Japan and so far we get two of them.
@rightlanehog3151 I was seating (in the shop) in Yaris GR with 261HP - I guess, 30 years ago, it would be my dream car, but not today. Corolla Touring Sport - yes, a nice, but in low price segment, car. My observation is that such types of cars seem to be not so popular in North America, not anymore.
@Mgoblagulka well germans can keep their badge bmw ( bust my wallet) and their Mercedes benz and leave the great Toyota to us pedestrian Americans!!!😅😂
@@Mgoblagulkablong Germans as all other people have a tendency to believe to the advertisement, however, even they start learning that it might be way too expensive, and all this buzz about "made in Germany means reliable" is no longer represents the reality... 😉
I am confident some of 1,190,000 subscribers to this channel work for Toyota. They should be thankful they have such a reasonable and reliable source of feedback and it does not cost them a nickel.
I got lucky and bought my Venza just as Covid was starting to take hold and upset everything. I found exactly the model and color I wanted and even paid less than sticker with no add-ons. Like I said, lucky. BTW, it’s the best car I’ve ever owned.
16:18 - headlights are "down" there for the reason - not to blind drivers of regular, small cars in front (and that has been the law in Europe since long ago)
Indeed… safety regs have made it so that there needs to be certain height between the surface of the hood and the solid engine bits. This results in a very tall front end. But if they design the headlamp main “face” low, its gonna look weird, its gonna make the car look like it has a face with an oversized forehead. So the solution of making the DRL where the “eye” of the face should be, and the actual headlamps as “dimples” on the “cheeks” is pretty genius.
Thank you so much for your review! I've been on the fence about this model after I saw some of the reviews on US News. Their comments were a finicky CVT, loud engine and high base price. It was rated 5.6 in drive/performance, 7.1 for interior and 6.3 for value - overall ranking considered below average for it's class (#61 in 2 row SUVs, #81 in crossover hybrids and #13 in hybrid SUVs). I happen to like the car very much and can't wait to test drive one.
"Finicky CVT" is not true of any Toyota hybrid eCVT. It's not a CVT at all. It's locked into its one gear, and just appears to change gear ratios, by changing the ratio of gas engine rpm to electric motor rpm. Even Reverse is not a different gear, it's the same gear with the electric motor spinning backwards! No gear changing, ever. No slippage, ever. The reviewers didn't know what they were talking about, regarding the transmission. It's as finicky as a differential, which is to say, not at all.
Test drive this car, rav4, and some Kia’s yesterday. The crown signia made it hard to even want to give anything else a shot. I love it and the seats were comfy & overall roomy. Husband is 6’1, athletic build and had so much extra room in the front seat.
LOVE........LOVE your videos. Every weekend, early in the morning, I sit on my deck and watch your endless videos. Fantastic and very helpful. THANK YOU, brother. You are a pleasure to watch.
Yes !!! Thanks AMD’s beautiful reviews of LC 500 (and my love to Lexus 5.0L V8) I bought one - it was the best of my decisions about cars ever! It is such a gorgeous car!!! The awesome feeling behind the wheel that I have roughly four times the power under my gas pedal compared to surrounding cars…. Tremendous!!! And the absolutely every detail on that car is incredible…. Thanks Ahmed!!! Thousand Thanks!!!
Like that funny description part of splashing fluid everywhere on the headlights and not washing nothing😅...thank you for sharing your view on this new Toyota Crown Signia. May the LORD continue to bless you.🙏
Nice car. Don't need a hybrid. However, I like the way you present vehicles explaining what's good and what needs improvement. Thank you for this video.
I hope Bridgestone have improved their tires. I wore my first set out in 6k on a new Nissan Z. I replaced them with a set of Michelin and didn't have any more problems
The paddle shifters control engine braking on hill descents (so long that you fill the battery). In a Prius, you have to put the shifter into B and use the accelerator pedal to modulate the level of engine braking.
I really like it. I've been thinking lately now that Im 67. Maybe I should grow up and sell my 2016 11k mile 4Runner Trail Premium, and get one of these. I need to sit up high though. Better go do a test drive.
Hi AMD! The volume of your latest videos is extremely low compared with other videos and the ads on UA-cam. Just to let you know! Faithful watcher since you began making videos. Amazing content always!
I agree 💯 about the door. I literally didn't buy the 2024 model specifically because of the door feel. I did buy a Lexus that doesn't have that cheapo feel. I will say though, every time I see one of these in the road, I love them.
Paddle Shifters are useful in all cars. It is an easy way to downshift on down hill slopes so you don't heat up and wear out brakes. Just don't over do it and stress the transmission. Two to 4 gears down will help on short grades and what ever it takes in the mountains.
We've had an Avalon or Camry in our garage since 2001. Test drive this last week and had to dismiss it. Wind noise, transmission glitch, and struggle to get in due to small front doors and B pillar location and dropped roof line. I'm 6-1, this model maybe good for shorter humans.
Yes, and the belt line is high (small windows), which is bad for visibility. And I'm not as tall as you, but I like to raise my seat because of a lower back issue (I can't sit too low or bucket style without experiencing pain afterwards). With that low roofline, I wouldn't be able to raise my seat much. That said, it is a beautiful car.
Interesting...I've seen other reviewers mention excessive wind noise. I plan to take one for a test drive myself, but wind noise would definitely make me lose interest in buying one.

Man of the people, doing the lord's work. Thank you
can you put on a tint without removing the coating? I am saying this if someone wanted to do the tint themselves and not putting the reputation of tint company at at risk
it can be tinted without damaging the coating, but if you mess up or get a fiber in it and have to pull the tint off you might be in some trouble. It's not a good one to learn how to tint windows on.
The rear window with defrost won't have the coating, or if it has the darkened factory privacy rear windows same thing, no coating. It's mostly found on front doors.
The Toyota dealer tinted all the windows on my new Crown Signia. They look perfect.
Hi CCN, is this essentially a Mazda CX50? They look somewhat similar. Will the Mazda CX50 Hybrid essentially be a Toyota Crown Insignia?
Ive had the crown Signia limited w the tech package for about 3 weeks now. This replaced my 2012 Outback. Took on a road trip and put on 1100 miles. I can verify that this is a very smooth, quiet and comfortable touring car. City mpg is 40 mpg. Highway is 35mpg at 77mph. It’s almost as quiet as the wife’s Lexus Es300h(2022) but it does ride more plush and the seats front and back are much more comfortable in the Signia. I paid $56k otd in California. Love it so far.
May you have many more contented miles.
Thx 4 sharing!
You are a wise man. What made you skip the regular new crown? Just curious as i am thinking between this, crown turbo or the ES.
How is the space vs. the Outback?
Happy Trails!!
You're such a huge nerd for these cars. No way a person could fake this level of pure passion. I love it.
I've always been a fan of the Japan Crowns. It's good to see it in the states. Toyota should send you a marketing stipend, this channel has been a godsend for Toyota and Lexus fans like me.
These are crowns in name only.
@@Lexlugr these are not the same crowns
@@AFS-ht7bg bummer.
@@Lexlugr agreed.
This is basically a Camry Wagon made to rival the Subaru Outback. The proper RWD based sedan Crown is still JDM only unfortunately.
Happy!
Congratulations! I would be willing to compromise with a XLE and sacrifice the driver monitoring.
@@rightlanehog3151 Me too...better over-all value.
Toyota you made a dash that doesn't look like someone went to radio shack and bought a tablet and duct-taped it to the dash. It's about time.

The emotion that you have is the same when smartphone screen size is 5 inch. Who would need that or putting next to the ear, it looks ridiculous... blah blah blah.

Same feeling after driving over 1000km🙌
That's random, I've been to both places. Martinsburg has an inexpensive Outlet Mall I visited as a kid and Mystic has the Seaport Museum and a great summer sailing camp I also went to as a kid. 😊
@@matt19661Mystic is a dream. Really nice.
Right, it’s a wagon and it is not as high sitting as the Venza.

Happy trails!
My own choices, in order of preference would be:
1: Both front doors only
2. Driver's door only
3. Four doors (but not hatch)
4. Both front, plus hatch
5. Driverr plus hatch
Your mechanic knowldege and experience gives your reviews more credibility than other automotive jopurnalists IMO. Great review as always, thank you.
🙌🙌
I don’t think that you can talk about the reliability of a BMW versus Volvo. VOLVO is a way better car. I am on my ninth Volvo. The one I have now is 15 years old and I have never had any problems with it as I do the regular maintenance bmw are Junk
Got ours 2 weeks ago, XLE, made in Japan and proven engine tech was top of our list. We had the panoramic in our last car, never used it. Thanks for confirming we made the right choice!

💯 absolutely Made in Japan for cars still means = quality is priority #1❤
@LogueS7
Toyota sold 10.8 million vehicles in 2023 more than any other vehicle manufacturer on the planet. Yep they are lost alright. They don't lead in EV sales because they didn't want to sell people vehicles with no range. They have solved that issue and probably will lead in EV sales soon enough..

These are in the 50-60k range. I just sat in one yesterday and the build quality is next level.
I really like this car.
I saw a base model starting at $43,600
$43k-$54

I wish Toyota could make a Tacoma with such nice interior and quality touch. This looks really amazing.

I was considering buying a Corolla hybrid and planned to buy a spare since it didn't include one, but I didn't like the idea of the spare eating up the trunk space. I like how the Crown Signia is big enough to have a compartment for a spare. 👍
Every Crown sedan comes with a spare tire . It was 'silly' of Toyota to make the spare an extra expense on the CUV/Wagon version.
New Sienna vans don’t have a spare. Every owner who has a flat out on the highway or Interstate will become a livid Toyota hater for life.

Happy trails!! The XLE is the one that appeals most to me.
Hello! Does the XLE has cooled seats? How is the gas milage? Are you getting 40mpg?
Yes heated and cooled seats. Love that they automatically adjust. Just leave everything in auto mode and set a temp and the car adjusts the heating or cooling of seats. You can manually adjust them too. And have been averaging 40 mpg. I live in a very hilly area so might be possible to get even better mileage.
How much did you pay?
Someone give this guy Top Gear's USA budget. Best insight into a car I've ever watched.
Love my HUD. Not sure I can buy another car without it. Makes me so much more attentive to the road.
These are NOT full-time AWD. Rear motor only kicks in when needed. I have owned 32 new cars over my 76 years in earth --Domestic, German, and Japanese. My Signia WAGON tops all the cars I've owned. This is a keeper!
@edgarten7593 thanks for the clarification it feels like a full time AWD though!
You shall bought a used Lexus!
It’s actually a CITREON design Hyundai copied the French
Mitsubishi started it all
Lower mounted headlights blind more because their angle to the road is smaller for a given projection distance, therefore when car articulates on bumps and uneven road, lower mounted headlights will project further.
But then the car should have low-power marker lights on the roof and mirrors to make it visible.
But rocks and other debris are more likely to damage them and they're not cheap to replace
I didn't know about the kick for the rear lift gate so I'm glad to find that out
I love your passion for Toyota, and your honest options and insights. You just helped me to make my decision.
I bought a 2024 Venza XLE before the price increase that will come with the Crown Signia. I am 100% pleased with both the car and the powertrain. Smooth with adequate performance is the way to describe these vehicles..
I was looking at one and the XLE costs more in the Signia than the Venza Limited - about $5,000 more. I know, I have a new Venza.
Do you have one of the best auto reviewers I have ever seen. Keep it up. I want one of these Toyotas
I am glad I bought my 2021 Venza XLE after the lease ended with 31 000 miles
Smart move.
Lexus was originally name Crown the first LS sedan!

Wife got a 2024 Limited this year and we love the car. Had to change fast from our Honda Pilot since the transmission was failing at 80,000 miles.
This is just like any of their other hybrids. If you have ever driven them you have driven this.
Not a fan of CVT.
Then what were the reviewers hitting on that was finicky? Had to be something.
@@mdf9446 Totally agree. I love hearing REAL shifting from an automatic and the durability and towing ability that CVTs don't have.
Dang man! You sold me into this car. Lol
My thing with any car is “ are the seats comfortable?! “
lol
So true, as a taller driver the seats must be comfortable otherwise nothing else matters 😊

AMD thanks for your reviews and honesty on all the vehicles you review 👍
No one is going to mention that beautiful white FJ60 in the backround!? She's a beauty in person, let me tell you.
I noticed it. I miss my 1984 FJ60 Landcruiser I had in Peru. What a tank! My brother-in-law still has it.
Simple, tough, noisy, rough. I love it!
Looking to replace our beloved 2015 Rav4 AWD. This is looking like a likely option. Kind of learned to hate low profile tires though.
After seeing a few now in my area, they’re actually quite the looker
Think I saw one coming towards me in the other lane seemed to have a lot of exterior angles.
What a beautiful car! Must also be extremely reliable and durable. So many Lexus things are included in this car.
I have a deposit on one of these. This is the best review period.
I hope Bridgestone have improved their tires. I wore my first set out in 6k on a new Nissan Z. I replaced them with a set of Michelin and didn't have any more problems
You are the best. Smart, knowledgeable, entertaining and a master communicator- who really knows his craft.
the paddle shifter is for controllling the regenerative braking.
The vibes on his reviews are unparalleled.
Hi AMD! The volume of your latest videos is extremely low compared with other videos and the ads on UA-cam. Just to let you know! Faithful watcher since you began making videos. Amazing content always!
The Nissan Juke and the 2014 Jeep Cherokee I think were the first couple modern interpretations of the headlights in the bumper.
That said, it is a beautiful car.
then I will not like when I have a 2007 Camry six cylinder!??
Concur!
Interesting...I've seen other reviewers mention excessive wind noise. I plan to take one for a test drive myself, but wind noise would definitely make me lose interest in buying one.
