Another great video. Your presentation is even better than the shirts. Some comments take issue with your test as if they were personally affronted on behalf of BYD even though you explain everything clearly in the beginning. For those who feel you should have stayed in the city as most cars are driven there, missed the whole point completely. It doesn't matter if it does 2000ks on a fill if all you are doing is 30ks a day in urban driving. What matters is range on long trips. Which is exactly what you testrd.
No range drop because highway mainly uses fuel, battery EV features aren't used as battery will have been drain But in urban area daily travel only ~100km most distance uses Battery Thus easily daily urban travel can over 2000+km Daily go home & charge car Battery Long range holiday travel will see lower total distance as fuel is mainly used to power car on long distance day trip Over hilly area even less km as more fuel is used
Unlike combustion cars which achieve fuel-economy when driven at speed of 80-90KMH (55-60 MPH), BYD's hybrid vehicles' fuel-economy speed is achieved when driven in urban area with frequent stops and restarts (the cars then are powered by electric motors other than traditional engines and that why they show different performances)

For those who feel you should have stayed in the city as most cars are driven there, missed the whole point completely. It doesn't matter if it does 2000ks on a fill if all you are doing is 30ks a day in urban driving. What matters is range on long trips. Which is exactly what you testrd.
The obvious in this test is the significant amount of rain on the drive. Rain is well known to cut around 30% of the range for EVs.
No range drop because highway mainly uses fuel, battery EV features aren't used as battery will have been drain
But in urban area daily travel only ~100km most distance uses Battery
Thus easily daily urban travel can over 2000+km
Daily go home & charge car Battery
Long range holiday travel will see lower total distance as fuel is mainly used to power car on long distance day trip
Over hilly area even less km as more fuel is used
Unlike combustion cars which achieve fuel-economy when driven at speed of 80-90KMH (55-60 MPH), BYD's hybrid vehicles' fuel-economy speed is achieved when driven in urban area with frequent stops and restarts (the cars then are powered by electric motors other than traditional engines and that why they show different performances)

wow impressive, I own a rav4 phev with a smaller 40l tank it only does max 650 kms on highway driving this one has 3 times the range
I think you should set a speed limit of 100km/h for eco mode.A speed range of ,80 to 100kmh,for eco mode to work effectively. Most chinese bloggers mentioned that in their videos.
The rainy weather and road conditions could be an issue as well.
Mixed City drive is where it should shines. You can get probably 1800km from it and it only costs 14~20k USD. what car can you buy with that kind of money in your country? The interior and room size is comparable to Camry and Accord. not a small car like prius
My 1996 Volvo TDI with a could easy do 2400km on a tank. (4,6L/100km and a 112L tank) no fancy tech required - mechanical injection. Easy to repair.
Hi Wheelsboy you're looking like million bucks in that driver seat, I would buy this car too, But the damn politicians are dictating our life
They are deciding what car I can drive, As a personal protest, I decide not to purchase any cars in the next 4 to 5 years
my commute to work plus traffic jam on highways cost me $300 to $350 for gas every month,
I seriously consider quitting my job and find some work close to where I live given hourly pay only at $16/hour right now
16? That's fked up, I used to got 27 CAD hourly with monthly gas around 200 and still quit, definitely not worth you time and money to stay
F it. Bring it here to the US. If it's under 20k I'll buy it in an instant!
Ask your political masters for permission first
no, the politians prohibit Americans from buying it
Biden can't answer you.
Lol Biden says no 😂
Good looks and a great fuel efficiency!
Will it ever come to North America though?
No, you can forget about it.
national security threat according to American authorities, lol
100% tariff warning🤣
Both Canada and Mexico are possible
@@mingouczjcz3800not Canada, the government there just crazy announcing China are dumping ev there, this despite no Chinese EV are actually sold in Canada. They are America’s poodle.
As a Chinese, my family has three vehicles: Toyota Highlander, Chevrolet Monza and BMW 530Li. If I want displace any of them, I highly likely purchase a local brand car.
Lynk&Co 7X, Nio ES6, Aito M9, Xiaomi SU7 are my options.
But we Americans love to stop for gas and pee, we love engine noise too
Speaking for BYD DM5.0 alone, this car (and its siblings) will rule the low price range cars (around 100k CNY) in China for sure, where main-stream Japanese cars (plus VW..., given the fact Korean and French cars are long-dead in China market.) will be slaughtered.
Great test, now lets see a city only test over several days 👍👍💪💪, normal city usage.
Man u wanna kill our guy here? I saw couple of Chinese media did similar work, took em whole week non-stop to drain a single tank😂
looking at the design it's clear they had influences from the newer peugeot generations, but it's nice to see China is making a proper entry into the domestic production and design market
