Found myself remembering this situation and realized I'd only followed the google docs and forums as the news came out, and never saw any comprehensive videos then or... ever. Did a search and found this one! I can really tell it's from a former fan, being one myself (and worse, for RH specifically). I remember watching so many of the let's play clips you showed, back in the old days. Your content is GOOD. But Achievement Hunter popped up on my recommended recently and I decided to find out what happened with 'everything' and funny enough, you just happened to upload this 3 days ago. I was a big fan for many years, up to the moment this whole ordeal happened. Even a subscriber to the RT website. Like many, I grew up watching these guys, and was captured by the overwhelming positive community, and seemingly down to earth attitude these guys had towards each other and for the fans. I can still remember the sick feeling I got when everyone found out. I couldn't imagine what it must have been like for the victims, and wasn't even aware of anything else past the 2 girls in the initial exposé. The more detailed information is beyond disturbing, and really conveys how messed up RH really is, and his lack of empathy for these victims and people in general. I know the video has only been up for a few days (at the time of commenting) but I hope it gets the attention and recognition that it and you deserve. The amount of effort, research, and care that was put into this video, really shows here. Achievement Hunter and Rooster Teeth genuinely used to be some of my favorite people on the Internet, more than content creators to me. I've had a sense of loss and melancholy for the group since the initial blow up. And was sad when I heard about their closing of the company. But after watching, this video has brought me closure and to be honest a bit of relief. I just want to say thank you for releasing this. The conclusion chapter really describes it best. The only way I can watch old AH content is by remembering the team didn't start with Ryan and it didn't end with Ryan. I hate that I liked you Ryan. I hate that when I finally started coming around to your on screen personality and started embracing my own chaotic side a bit, that you turned out to be a bigger more despicable human than I ever thought you were. I thought Ryan was putting on an act on several podcasts, like the uber/lyft thing, I thought that sounded like a load of garbage the first time I heard it. I almost knew he was hiding an affair, I just never thought it was with a teenage girl.
Unfortunately they fell apart without him. He was a huge part of their commercial and technical success. When he was kicked out they lost a lot of direction they had with him leading the way.
Believe it or not, I actually had no idea what happened with RT (hell, I didn't even know they were the ones who made RedVBlue!). This was really informative.

Well he tried to manipulate the victims by threatening to take his own life, just to keep the whole situation under wraps. I don't really see the reason to try and compare and see which person is more shiddy lol

But his recent actions and behavior consistently show he's a lot worse than anyone thought he was. Before he was a broken person, not worth pity, but not worth endless hate. But now? He's broken and will do anything to not work or improve himself until the day he dies. Seeing him freak-out at Destiny for the cancer call out, then claim to be suicidal, then tell Destiny to off himself before leaving the call and returning to his normal demeanor like nothing happened. That was when any potential empathy I had for the guy completely dissipated.
Well, this definitely went places. Another creator I only have vague familiarity with. But...jeez. This must have been hard to make, Alkor. You're very resilient and strong when covering these dark topics. You're very appreciated for giving us your talent for video creating and script writing. Ryan was one of my heroes during my early teens. After a routinely miserable day of school I could always count on coming home to dying of laughter at the newest AH upload. Nowadays when I watch back all their videos from the golden days, I REALLY want to believe that Ryan back then wasn't the depraved manipulative monster we know him as today. It's the only straw I can grasp to somehow tolerate his presence in all those old videos. He's just inseparable from the history of AH and RT as a whole. Now I feel like a piece of shit for wanting to laugh at his jokes or his crazy antics and his chemistry with the other AHers like I did in the early 2010s when the videos first dropped. I don't know if it was the fame or success that got to him or if this is what he always truly was but I take no pleasure in seeing someone I used to look up to fall from grace so spectacularly. As horrible as it sounds, I don't even know if I truly hate him. I have nothing but condemnation and disgust for everything he did of course, and nothing but sympathy and respect for all the victims that came forward, but part of me would rather see him get help and become a better person than crash and burn like he did, because he brought me so much joy during a time in my life where I had very little. But it would also feel like such an insult to all his victims for him to bounce back from that. Really well made video. A rollercoaster of emotions like you said, but above all, just a huge damn shame thing ended up the way they did.
It's kind of ironic that Ryan's entire persona was that of someone who was psychotic or even crazy, yet it always came off as charming. In the end, he turned out to be even more twisted than he led us to believe.
"Mistake" is cheating on your wife once, or on several occasions, with the same person. Not doing it repeatedly over the years, hiding from everyone else. Much less so with minors.
Not really, They aren’t the ones cheating. Ryan is an adult who made his choices. And if you read the messages he sent to the girls, there is BIG TIME manipulation happening “My wife doesn’t show she loves me anymore.” “I haven’t felt loved in a long time.” I’m not saying the girls are awesome for doing it. But many of the girls are younger (not all but many) and they may not understand exactly how impactful it would be if Ryan was caught cheating.
