@@maryomnes9445 was 8 then. My Aunt played this constantly when I was at her house. First DooWop song I heard. Song consistently won #1 DooWop song in Pittsburgh.
I am a Chinese born in the 60’s. I grew up listening to “The Platters” n “Frank Sinatra” because of my parents but I didn’t know this song until I saw the movie “The Irishman“. Gee, both the movie n the song blew me away. Even though I wasn’t fm that generation, I got sentimental n I sway to the music every time I listened to it. Music really moves people. I so much hope that someone from the Five Satin’s family will get to read this so I can take this chance to say “thank you so much for such a wonderful song. The lyrics, the melody, the music arrangements……the whole nine yards!!!!!”
The greatest song the late and great Fred Paris and The Five Satins ever made. I play it on my internet radio show the Doowoop Hour me The Masterblaster .
THIS IS Fred Paris and THE 5 SATIN'S . This concert was filmed at Rock Land Community College in the 70's. Clay Cole was the Emcee that evening . It was a Star studded evening . The show featured "The Coasters, The Platters , The Brooklyn Bridge ,featuring Johnny Maestro ( Lead Singer of that group). It was held in the gym on a Saturday Evening in the early fall to a sold out audience. How I know all this, is because I was vocalizing with Fred Paris ,and I was the only one in the group who wore glasses and had been singing with him since December of 1958
I worked in a correctional facility in California for 27 years. About 20 years ago, I guess its been, there was a quartet of inmates who used to sing these songs. They were great! When they sang, inmates young and old, as well as correctional staff, would stop what they were doing and just listen. This brings back that memory.
What a truly lovely, lovely story Steve. A pity that what you have shared with us all - - isn't on video .. .. .. so everything stopped when these gentlemen started to sing - - Doo Wop has that effect on folk.
When this song came out us teens couldn't get enough of it. Heard it over and over and never got tired of it even to this day and age. 2021. The Five Satins do a great job of Doo Wop, ing.
I never thought I could hear anyone or group sing this beautiful standard, I’ll be seeing you , better than the immortal Vera Lynn or Bing Crosby. But I do feel that this group and their arrangers have come up with this beautiful song…
This is my favorite version of In The Still Of The Night....when I hear it on the radio I wait for the part where he stops and says "you make me fell just like 1956" sooo disappointed when it never happens....Thank you Fred Paris for all your wonderful hits....you will live on forever through your music....would love to see the full concert...thanks Schrooms73 for posting
Best doo wop song ever. At the all night party of my graduation in 1957 we played it all night. At dawn, when I took my steady girlfriend of three years home, she told me she wanted to break up. Never got over it. This song still reduces me to a quivering heap.
I'm so happy that grew up in the 50's, 60's, 70;s etc...we had great music and boy could we dance!! Miss it. Like the music today, but maybe because I'm older, just not so much as back in the day... :)

Of all the great groups down through the years, Fred and the Satins rank right at the very top. There can be no comparison. The Five Satins are simply the best there's ever been...or ever will be.
Growing up with The Five Satins music was fantastic... Plus this channel has been a big part of my channel... Thanks for all the memories Schrooms37....
The more Iisten to I'll Be Seeing You, the more I appreciate what great acapella sounds like- especially the tightness and quality of the harmony. After singing in a few groups and listening to more than a few hundred groups.... most of them acapella are excellent, but this group, and this song has superior sound
I was privileged to have lunch with Freddie and the guy in the middle. The recorded the song in the basement of a Catholic Church in New haven and PBS had them recreate that in recent years...we were blessed or hot....we loved in the era of doo top and Freddie Paris. RIP
Beautiful song, smooth moves. Always makes me cry a little. I'll Be Seeing You is one hell of an encore. acapella no less. How does he hold that note?? 💙
God at the time I thought this was the greatest song ever written the year this came out was one of the best years of my life first I was no longer living in west cottage (the cottage from hell) and I had my first kiss and girlfriend and I was all of 13 years old WOW.
I was 14 and was in love with the love of my life, her family moved and she found someone new. I still love her today. She passed away in 1996 and I visit her grave every chance I get.
Super Tuff! Work Out! Makes My Liver Quiver!! Makes me feel like 1956, the year I graduated from Bishop Noll High School in Hammond IN and spent my time in the Coke (soft drink pop) Bar listening to stax of wax and pounds of sounds.
So kids would hangout at soda bars? Were these for all ages or only under drinking age? Was there a juke box? What else did they sell? I’m so fascinated
My aunt and uncle would take me with them to the sweet shop from time to time in the mid ‘s! At the booth we sat at there was a selection machine for jukebox songs! Even though I was only a small child I so remember these songs and still listen! We had the best music!!
I am 75 and my wife is 60 but there is still nothing like holding that girl tight and feeling the love that flows between us as we dance and remember THAT NIGHT.
RIP MR.FRED PARIS.THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT MUSIC.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
No profanity. No Shock Lyrics. No N-words. No wonder that we still regard this kind of music as emblematic of "the good old days."
THIS WAS A HIT IN 1956. I WAS JUST 12 YEARS, "IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT" BY FAR WAS THE BEST DOO WOPP SONG EVER!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I was 12 then also and I still love this music

Not just the good old days, but almost the only music that could have been played on public radio. I am so glad I grew up in this era.
This music was the best. So glad I was born in the era.......nothing like this music today!!

Doo Wop, the greatest sounding music to ones ear.
This is one of the best if not the best doo wop of all time
One of the greatest 50s hits of all time. Great dance tune at parties. Thanks for the memories.
