- World Figure skating championships 2022 is definitely not what we expected, with Yuzuru Hanyu and Nathan Chen both withdrawn due to injury, as well as the Russian skaters banned due to the Russian invasion in Ukraine. With the war going on, the chaos, the noise, the absence of our favorite skaters, will you still be watching? And in response to the sanction, Russia Skating Federation announced they will hold the Russian Channel 1 Cup on the same dates as the World Championships 2022. Drama, Heartbreak, insanity, indifference, what describes your mood going into this year's ISU world championship? The World championship which we fans normally look forward to? We don't know the answer.. Just hope everything gets better from here.

There was another earthquake of 7.3 Magnitude that hit Sendai area on 16th March 2022 evening, no news on Yuzuru Hanyu (which is good news?!) except his home rink, the Sendai ice rink is closed for safety reason. War, injuries of the skaters, sanctions, ban, we started feeling like 2022 is just too much for us to take in. The usual World figure skating championships which we fans are most excited about just become so hard to watch with so many things happening in the backdrop. Russian Cup will happen on the same dates as a response to the World Championships? Will you watch any of these events? Nonetheless, here's the preview..

We all must understand Yuzu’s withdrawal here, he didn’t even fully recovered back on Olympics but still got his best again , he already made history so what’s the best for him now is to recover, only this way we will have the chance to see him again on ice! No matter what we support him!

I was disappointed when Yuzuru withdrew and lost a lot of interest, but I'm actually more excited about it since hearing Nathan and Russia won't be there. It just feels like it'll be more interesting to watch.

@@divinearia1601 Look, I'm also gutted that Nathan withdrew and I hope his hip heals enough to gift us more performances but you gotta admit the fanyus have a point. If Nathan competes, it's almost guaranteed he will win 'cause he's so much stronger than the others. If he doesn't, the competition is much closer and therefore more unpredictable and interesting. Simple logic! Also I don't understand why you would automatically assume OP was a fanyu just because they said they were disappointed Yuzuru wasn't competing. Even if they were, what's so wrong about it?

@@Make_A_Wish_Make_It_True I’m with you all the way. I’m only really interested in Yuzuru. I do obviously, appreciate other skaters as I enjoy the sport, but when Yuzu’s there, the atmosphere and excitement is different.
Of course, I'll be watching. I've already set my recorder for the eight episodes. I love the sport, I don't watch it just because I'm enamored of one single individual. There are other athletes and I look forward to their competitions. Hope for Yuzuru Hanyu and Nathan Chen good rest and recovery.

I watched the men's and women's competition. It was wonderful! The athletes there, and particularly the winners, were spectacular! It will all only get better. Withdrawing because of injury is wise. As for Russia, we can welcome back Russian athletes when their leadership stops making war on the citizens of Ukraine. Stop the war! Let the children live and play.

Самая большая грусть и тревога - это снятие Юзуру Ханю. Без него - нет фигурного катания, нет спорта и нет праздника. Очень хотелось его увидеть, хоть и шанс был призрачный, учитывая боль Юзуру при тренировках к Гала на Олимпийских Играх. Молюсь всем Богам, чтобы Юзуру скорее поправился и появился в следующем сезоне.

@@Татьяна-э7д9с ваше мнение мне неинтересно, я высказала своё личное. Юзуру - единственный в своём роде и лучший фигурист на все времена. Его любят и восхищаются именно те, кто любит фигурное катание и разбирается в нём. Он и есть квинтэссенция этого спорта.
Давайте мыслить позитивно, хоть он и пропустит этот ЧМ, зато он наконец то поправится и восстановится
Он столько прыгал на ОИ (особенно на тренировках), что ему нужен отдых 😇

Юзуру и есть фигурное катание, причем самое мужское и самое техничное, программы у него - единственные запоминающиеся, и, всегда разные, которые он всегда дорабатывает до каждой мелочи, а в последние 2 года - так и вовсе почти сам себе ставил. Юзуру - фигура номер 1 в этом спорте, как плющит хейтеров - прямо смешно.)))

I really wish that team Japan could win world championship title in three disciplines, the men’s, women’s and pairs event, & the men and women going 1-2 with a total of five medals. If Japan wins the pairs event, it will be the first time for the Japanese pairs.

I feel like nothing really matters anymore. So many things are happening right now...I just wish the war never happened and we could see everyone attend this championships that they've been training for all of their lives. I hope there will be peace again and in the meantime is hope our skaters get their time to heal and recover. I can't wait to see them all skate together again soon✨💗

I think it will be quite interesting to watch. I thought it would be a Nathan+Yuzu Showdown again and a which russian kid gets which medal like usual. But now it seems like it'll be actual women's figure skating (rooting for Wakaba, Kaori and Mariah) and well I guess men's will be again who lands most quads but I really enjoy Cha, Uno AND Brown and Aymoz (honestly I think artistry is undervalued!)

Besides mens singles, this is the most boring and pathetic World Championship in the history of figure skating...((( It's terrible, what happens in Ukraine, but sport shouldn't be involved in politics. Russian girls are mostly minors, who doesn't even have a vote right. It's not their fault. Especially juniors...13-14 y/o...at least they could've let them compete. They already lost 2 seasons due to Covid. But I have a feeling that ISU is happy to get rid of Russian skaters one way or another. Because, otherwise others can't win. ( Too much politics in sports these days...And double standards.
ЧМ смотреть не буду. Без Российских фигуристов смотреть не интересно. Может потом посмотрю в записи на некоторых фигуристов. Буду смотреть КПК.

Hanyu is only reason I became a part of figure skate culture. However, these athletes being targeted for no👎legitimate reason is cruel.😡😭 This could happen to any athlete!
They should all ban together and boycott as a reminder of who makes this happen - not their political "adult" agendas! This unethical, bias targeting has to stop!!! Freedom comes at a price and a sacrifice in these bazar and unprecedented times. Remember the Russians 🇷🇺 were banned from Olympics before.

Yeah in a way this world championships will truly usher into the new era with guaranteed new world champions across all disciplines. Though we are sad not being able to see our favorites. But somehow there’s this weird excitement that we will see truly a new day and age of figure skating. Not sure what to expect. It’s interesting 🤔 somehow
I really do feel disrespected by ISU who banned russian skaters and did not ban other countries who were involved in wars. It's double standards. They always said that thing about politics and sports but when Russia's involved, it somehow does not work.
Thus this World Championship is a pass from me. Especially since Yuzu is not participating.
My favorites are still here so ofc I will watch , Shoma,Junhwan , Yuma, Vincent I’m very glad they participate otherwise without them too there would be no excitement.
Было большим разочарованием то, что на ЧМ не допустили наших фигуристов, и то, что с чемпионата снялся Юзу. Ну, как-то смирилась с этим. А позавчера (16 марта) вечером узнала, что на северо - востоке Японии произошло мощное землетрясение. И ожидаются ещё афтершоки...
На момент мощнейшего землетрясения, произошедшего 11 марта 11 года, я знала, что семья Ханю живёт в городе Сендай, который был смыт цунами с лица земли. (На "Ростелекоме-10" в интервью Юзу рассказал, что он учился в одной школе и тренировался на одном катке с Сидзукой Аракава...) В конце марта ЧМ-11 по ФК перенесли из Нагано в Москву. Японские спортсмены были, но не было Юзу. ??? (В СМИ была информация, что от цунами спаслись 42% жителей префектуры Мияги.) И только 29 октября я узнала, что Ханю на "Skate Canada-11" занял 4 место. (В тот момент, это 4 место, для меня, было дороже всех олимпийских наград.) В прошлом году, к 10летию катастрофы, было запланировано выступление Юзу перед земляками, в память о погибших от цунами. Но... 13 февраля - мощное землетрясение М7,1. В результате этого повреждены трубы охлаждения подо льдом катка... 20 марта - афтершок М7,2 - Юзу не мог вылететь из Сендая на ЧМ-21. Вылетел из Токио, едва успев на ПЦР-тесты перед соревнованиями. 1мая - М6,8... Я надеялась, что ещё хотя бы лет около 10-ти не будет очень сильных землетрясений. (Как бы я хотела, чтобы в Японии всегда было спокойно, ну хотя бы в регионе Тохоку.) Но... 16 марта - М7,3 и опять эпицентр - префектуры Фукусима и Мияги. В прошлом году самой большой магнитуды, были единичные, редкие толчки. А в этот раз толчки М7,3 длились непрерывно около минуты. Из новостей узнала, что разрушений даже больше, чем 11 марта 11 года от М9,1 (тогда трясло с такой силой - 8 секунд, остальные толчки были ~6 баллов). Слава Богу, что цунами (можно сказать) не было. Максимальная высота волны - 3 метра. (В 11 году - 40 метров.) На этот раз немного "подмочило". Если бы было подобное 11-ому году, то была бы катастрофа ещё страшнее, т.к. землетрясение было ночью (23:36) и сразу же отключилось энергоснабжение города... Господи, как мне хочется, чтобы Юзу был счастлив и наслаждался своим катанием на родном льду "Iсe Rink Sendai"... Нет никакого настроения смотреть ни ЧМ-22, ни наш кубок.

Somehow it was no surprise after the olympics that yuzu wouldn't attend. And to be honest I'm relieved he made that desicion since we saw the bad condition of his foot. I hope he recovers well. But because nathan also won't attend it will be more interesting to watch and I'll be Cheering for shoma I guess. I also don't get people who watch the Championships just because of those two, there are so many great skaters!
Yuzuru loves Figure skating, he cheered for everyone and he loves that his sport will go on even he is not there

По факту. Конечно, смотреть кубок Первого. Это нормально болеть за своих, поддерживать. Не говоря уж о том, что они лучшие, и есть на что посмотреть с удовольствием. К сожалению, победа на ЧМ некоторых фигуристов с большой вероятностью не будет настоящей победой...
На ЧМ буду болеть у мужчин за японцев и у всех за китайцев. Как то так.

With Yuzuru and Nathan out, we will not see the two bests men who won the past and current Olympic Gold competing, and for sure we will have a new world champion in the men's event. I picked the Japanese men to go 1-2, so here are my prediction for the men: Gold- Yuma Kagiyama, Silver- Shoma Uno, and Bronze- Vincent Zhou of USA. Other contenders for the men are, Cha Jun Hwan of South Korea and Daniel Grassl of Italy. For the women, no Russian women or their skaters competing because of the ban, I picked the Japanese women to go 1-2, the highest finish at the Olympics, that is Gold for Kaori Sakamoto, Silver for her teammate Wakaba Higuchi, just like the men, and Bronze for You Young of South Korea. Other contenders are, Alyss Liu of USA (7th place finished at the Beijing Olympics) and Loena Henrickxx of Belgium (8th place finished at the Beijing Olympics). I picked Japan to win three world titles also in the pairs with USA's A. Smieca and B. Frazier and A. Cain-Gribble and T. LeDuc taking silver and bronze. Finally, for Ice dance, Olympic Champion a month ago, with home ice dancers taking their fifth world title convincingly, same as pairs with M. Hubbell and Z. Donohue, and M. Chock and E. Bates USA taking silver and bronze. Japan with 3 Gold 2 Silver, USA taking 2 Silver, and 3 Bronze, France with 1 Gold, and South Korea with 1 Bronze. Good luck to others as well.
This just feels like a dark year for figure skating, the Worlds without the Russians and Hanyu will be a sad place ( does not mean I condone or sympathize with Putin's actions against Ukraine). I will still root for Yuma, Shoma, and Cha Jun Hwa, But this Championship will leave me very unsatisfied. No Nathan chen either!
Also, I would like to really appreciate the video editing on this one, I think the music was just superb.

@@celsdd6906 He's harboring a hip injury the entire season and it's good that he's taking a break to let it heal. Also, it's known that many skaters at the Olympics withdraw in the upcoming worlds because the two competitions are too close to one another and don't offer enough room to rest and recharge in between. Hanyu withdrew from Worlds 2018 for the same reason.

Очень жаль, что не насладимся катанием Ханю. Конечно, если его не будет, прелесть и очарование мужских соревнований в значительной степени будет потеряна. Но есть Шома и другие спортсмены, которых давно пора оценить по достоинству. В мужском катании должна быть интересная борьба и будут новые титулованные спортсмены. При отсутствии российских спортсменок в женском катании у кореянок и бельгийки вырастут крылья и ,может быть, будет чистое катание, а программы есть интересные. А в парном и танцах и без русских много есть на кого смотреть.
Луна с травмой, говорит что попадание в десятку будет успехом, вычёркивайте её из борьбы за медаль. Водокачка Франции всё хуже и хуже.

This will be a great opportunity for Ilia Malinin.
Everything is such a mess right now! I'll definitely still be watching Worlds. I love skating even when my favorites aren't there. Personally, I think all the people missing namely Yuzu ❤ (which I figured post OGs given his ankle) and now Nathan and all the Russians will actually make it all the more exciting because there are no longer multiple such obvious shoe-ins for the podium! It creates opportunity for some skaters to medal when it would have been a LOT less likely (even impossible if the top athletes skated anywhere near clean) before. And I think the door being wide open creates an interesting dynamic/pressure that can encourage people to capitalize on the moment and throw down some spectacular skates. I can't wait to see who steps it up and wins medals!
There is that about it, but, we know the skaters that win would be unlikely to do so if the afore mentioned people were participating which somehow makes it a bit flat for me.

For this exact reason I found the world's to be quite boring. There was no real competition. Kaori Sakamoto is a very good skater but she's not the best skater in the world by a long shot. And with the men, the Russians and Hanyu were very much missed

I regret that we no longer accept Russian athletes. They bring a breath, an energy, a knowledge, a lot of momentum ... to all competitions. Now, this has allowed some skaters to make themselves known under their other nationality. I must say that I focus a lot on Russian skating because it is really a lack, a deficiency that people who have nothing to do with politics are heavily penalized and ousted. They all work so hard. Besides, the age or time of fame is so short now. I also deplore the rest. Before, there were really beautiful skaters over 24 to watch on the ice. You are right. Many women figure skaters, even if they don't jump Quads, skate beautifully and there is a lot to watch. I saw it in the 4 Contingents competition. Even though there weren't the best ones, it was still interesting. The beautiful skating of the Japanese and Korean women and the young man of Korea Cha Jun-hwan, there was simply something to look at. I think that even now the 2022 World Cup will be interesting.

EUA ha atacado países por terrorismo, muchos de los países árabes que mencionas de hecho se aliaron con EUA, no te confundas, en Afganistán por ejemplo estuvieron ayudando al gobierno pero de sus propios terroristas, no fue contra ellos, y tampoco ignores las razones: el ataque del 11 de septiembre, varios ataques bombas en Europa y sus mismos países, hicieron que todos tomarán acciones y por esos nadie intervino
2. EUA mando la bomba a Japón, porque sin provocación, los japoneses atacaron Pearl Harborl donde murieron muchos, crees que Japón era inocente? Investiga la masacre de Nankin y luego me dices. Y con Corea hicieron lo mismo.
3. Cada situación tiene un contexto que explica varios factores, si dices que por estas razones debieron sacar a EUA de los deportes entonces a Rusia también le tocaría la misma sancion. Si, Estados Unidos no es una víctima ni inocente, ha tenido su parte de acciones en otros países según sus intereses pero eso aplica para prácticamente todas las potencias y con ello se acabaría el deporte en general entonces

Hay muchos conflictos en el mundo pero no son países que esten en el deporte, o si acaso envían a 1 o 2 de todos los deportes que hay y ni llegan al top 10, por eso no hay razón en hacer un escándalo. Otra cosa es que los conflictos son internos, los mismos presidentes venden a sus países o hay corrupción, pero es más un conflicto de nacion. Y otra es que Rusia atacó a Ucrania por "supuestos", Ucrania nunca atacó o sello trato con alguien, sin embargo Rusia atacó por la "posibilidad de". Te imaginas si todas las potencias atacan por la "posibilidad"? Muchos ya habrían bombardeado a Rusia y justificadamente según los mismos rusos porque esos es lo que hiceron aquí.
Veo lo malo de todos, EUA y Rusia, sus aliados y enemigos, pero por lo menos yo no desestimó algo malo sólo porque otro lo hace, pero supongo que cada quien, y si alguien merece castigó adelante, pero con argumentos, no con hechos sin contexto dichos al azar

А чего там болеть на ЧМ без россиян, интриги-то почти не будет? У мужчин в топе Кагияма, Шома Умо и Грассель, с высокой степенью вероятности выиграет Юма Кагияма интересно только как поделят второе и третье места. Винсент после Ковида, там мало времени прошло, скорее всего не в лучшей форме. У девчонок топовый набор: Сакамото, Хигучи и Алиса Лью. Неизвестно кто из них приедет на ЧМ, но без российских девчонок не столь смотрибелен, юниорский чемпионат России и тот интереснее, спортсменки выше по классу большинства взрослых фигуристок уровня ниже топ-пять по технике, а иной раз и по артистизму. В танцах выиграют Пападакис-Сизерон, если не решат пропустить ЧМ, так как решили завершать карьеру на пиковом моменте, а второе-третье места поделят американцы. Правда вроде Закери-Хаббел решили что ОИ - последние соревнования в их карьере, но может захотят ухватить еще какой-нибудь мировой титул под занавес. А пары... В парах объективно говоря, кроме как на японцев и смотреть-то особо не на кого. Не впечатляют. Хотя вот молодая американская пара ничего так. шустрые.
Это дело каждого, смотрят ли они чемпионат мира или Кубок России. Я лично увижу чемпионат мира, даже если там не будет лучших фигуристов. Я бы посмотрела и на Кубок России, но поскольку русские сделали такую несправедливость, что перенесли его на одну дату с чемпионатом мира, смотреть не буду.
А настоящему фанату фигурного катания тоже понравится посмотреть на фигурное катание, где нет самых больших звезд. Еще мне нравится смотреть и поддерживать детских фигуристов, которые прыгают только одинарными или двойными прыжками. Не обязательно нужно фигуристов с квадрами.
У Ильи Малинина тоже есть хорошие шансы на подиум.
@@helenababikova8806 я не фанат, просто люблю ФК, причем больше всего потому что очень красиво. Но катание и прыжки должны быть чистыми, иначе красота сильно теряется. Не спорю, смотреть или нет - дело личных предпочтений. Я не уверена, что вообще смогу хоть одни соревнования просмотреть в прямом эфире и полностью. Работа и разница во времени, не знаю во скольао будут показывать. Но если вечером, то буду смотреть. А ЧМ неизвестно будут ли вообще у нас транслировать, таа что смотреть буду скорее в ю-тьюбе в записи. И не все.
