This is truly a postmodern synth. It has that many options I feel like I'm standing in a room with an infinite amount of doorways, and I have no idea which way to feckin go!
I just spent my first two hours on it. Started an Init Performance and I got lost...two hours later I looked my clock and I swear id lost a feckin hour to time dilation! The Wavestate is a black hole man! I saw God! lol

@Genevieve Hennacy An infinite amount of paths. An infinite amount of interpretations with none being true. I hate post-modernism by the way. I believe you most certainly can find truth, and with out it, we wonder aimlessly amongst a quagmire of choices and existential shit. But the rough analogy fits this synth just fine. I recently got the Modwave. It too, is a nose dive into seemingly endless possibility. I love them both ;)

A++ Genevieve...thank you for supplying a great example of a useless new wave religion.
By the way, if you have the fortitude to answer the question...I'd love to hear *your* definition of Post Modernism.

After some playing around, there is a nasty synth engine under the black A8 hood !) I think this is Korg's genius evolution of the motion control of the Minilogue. The next step in modulation control by an innovative next generation of their old synthesizer. Morphing has been around for a long time, but this is the first morphing device with added sequencing (Synth) that I could pay cash for. Also the expansion of short sequencing added to the sound in various lengths of steps creates one sound with many changing facets, just as we are using today with drums and polyrhythms.

This instrument was designed initially by the software team at Korg USA -- and the keyboard was built around that software by the other talented folks @ Korg. Like someone else said, it sounds great, and it does, but the sounds are so ‘wavestate’ that they are the cliches of the future. I personally adore it, as a 90s synth boy who started on a Korg 01/w this is my kind of synth. Icy, glacial pad sounds, overblown motion patches. Beautiful.

From a french music store, I just found out that among the sound designers John Bowen, John "Skippy" Lehmkuhl (Plugin Guru), and Peter "Ski" Schwartz, there's also a Belgian musician that created patches for the Wavestate.
His artist name is Airwave and he's recently released an album collecting 20 years of his greatest music.
