Boss are to guitar pedals what the Beatles are to popular music. Pioneers and ceaselessly enjoyable.
Eloquently put sir!
A man plays Led Zeppelin, Iggy Pop and Rolling Stones on a Les Paul. How do you not like and subscribe to this? I had to, there was nothing I could do about it.
haha thanks mate!
great demo, loved that sonic youth riff especially
Full lesson for that coming today! 😀🤘
I always loved that album great work on it
There’s so many cool tones this pedal can cover. One of my favorites in vintage mode is Hundred Mile High City by Ocean Colour Scene
Nice! Great band
I'll keep saying it. you need a Super Fuzz.
I see there is one for only $25
called SF300 Super Fuzz.
It's got killer tone!
Can't live without it
Funnily enough I’ve got one 😀🤘
@@LetsPlayAllDo you think it's sufficiently different to justify getting them both? I have the FZ-1w but the SF300 has been on my shopping list since Josh Scott highlighted it.
cool video ...at the moment my favorite fuzz pedal ...good job boss ;)
thanks mate! cracking little pedal isn't it!?
@@LetsPlayAll a very "usable" fuzz. vintage mode is not to extreme, almost overdrive/distortion but if you want it more extreme you can change to modern mode ;)
Very dynamic pedal. 🇺🇸🎥 I love the fact it does rock and full-on metal! 🏆🎸 I’m buying it this week personally and enjoyed trying it out for an hour at a local music shop.
I use it a lot, great range! Enjoy mate 😀🤘
Sy sounds awewsome
It’s amazing what you can do when the control knobs actually do something compared to many other brands. Boss are so good at doing that. Nice demo. Now I really want one! Did you borrow it from Marcus?
Yea I was really impressed with the range of tones given the fairly simple control layout. Boss kindly sent me this one 😊🤘
Nice
Nice to hear how it can do more sputtery germanium sounds like Tame Impala and that singing lead sound like Fripp on Heroes.
great demo...thanks...some riffs in there i didnt know and some i knew that i havent played in a long time...ill be relearning them on the next few days...been on the fence about getting this pedal...i got the tonebender by boss...so maybe the fz1 can be my everyday fuzz and the tb can be for special times
thanks Brad! had fun doing this one and the tones really didn't take much effort to dial in! I do like the idea of a "special times" fuzz pedal 🤘😀
great video as usual! thank you
Thanks Douglas you’re welcome!
Thanks for the overview - seems quite versatile. Hadn’t come across that one before. Have the waza chorus which is a great pedal. Could you use this do you think for some QOTSA riffs?? Possibly even some Kyuss ??
You're welcome! I haven't tried to dial it in for any QOTSA riffs specifically but I did use it in the "I Sat By The Ocean" lesson with the Angry Rhubarb overdrive for the lead part - ua-cam.com/video/XhrCSQUa7k4/v-deo.html
@@LetsPlayAll AH yes that’s right. Enjoyed that lesson. Haven’t gotten to learning that one yet. Thank you. What an amazing array of pedals you have !!
@@paulm6341 you’re welcome mate!
you NEED to play some mars volta
A-way down inside, A-honey you need it, I'm gonna give you my love
Man, you got those riffs A-mastered 🤘😝🤘
haha thanks buddy!
We NEED a Let's Play All Spotify playlist! #615boys #Nashville
I Broke the screwhead (its plastic lol) any suggestions?
Brilliant video from what I understand it seems like overdrive more than a distortion if you was going to stack it with a distortion pedal what would you recommend from boss maybe ds1 ds2 metal hope you can find the time to reply stay safe
Thanks mate! Well it's a fuzz and it can get quite gnarly so i personally wouldn't stack with a distortion pedal as that could get a bit much, but then again it depends what you're going for - if you're after John Frusciante type lead tones then you could stack it with a DS2 Turbo distortion, but personally i like to put a lower overdrive pedal into fuzz so something like an SD-1w would be cool. But again it's all personal taste tbh!
Great, solid demo! Do you have any info about the signal path?
Thanks! Guitar into pedal into victory V40 - two notes captor - audio interface - laptop 🤘😊
Whats your thoughts between this one and the hungry beaver ? I m watching too the raise of the dead pedal by Tate FX ! You made some awesome pedals in the UK !!!
Haha yea we have some excellent builders in the UK for sure! They're three pretty different pedals and all have their merits tbh. The Hungry Beaver is more of a Big Muff style pedal, but it's got an insane amount of tweakability and is really competitively priced. I have a code for that one "BEAVERALL" which gives you 10% off incidentally, so it's £89 with that (note I get a small kickback from that too, but even without that it's still brilliant value imo). The only thing i would say is there's so much to it, you do need to fiddle about to get the tones, so depends how much you like to twiddle! The Raise the Dead is brilliant, dead simple, one knob fuzz that does one thing but does it really really well, and the Boss Fuzz is an original circuit but brilliant for a bunch of tones too. So it really depends what you're after and what your budget is! Hope that helps
You always save the best for last
Lesson coming this week for Kool Thing too! 😀🤘
@@LetsPlayAll Wow!
Awesome great music song rock. 🤘🤘
Great demo, but I’ll keep my FZ-3.
Thanks mate, haven't tried the FZ-3, will have to check that out
what amp do you use?
For this one victory v40 but using the Morgan mvp66 more recently, both great pedal platforms🤘
No SOUND
Works fine for me 🤘
Could be recorded out of phase perhaps? Try panning the balance hard left or right. if the sound appears then that's your problem; the stereo channels are cancelling each other out.
