    On the FZ-5, the O is for Octave Fuzz. The F is Fuzzface, and the M is Maestro. In the box is a little card that says that when on the M mode, the sound may go in and out a little because it is trying to emulate the original Maestro fuzz (the first fuzz) from way back in the day.

      Yes, I have the FZ-1 (1968) and in my opinion it's not sound's the same. May be it would be better to check the items with Tele or with another single coil guitars? Many thanks for the vid! 👍

    FZ 1W. In my opinion, that is the best non-boutique "boutique" fuzz being made. I have Spaceman, Kingtone, Dandrive, and had a few others. That FZ-1W is ever bit as great sounding as any of them, and in many cases, more versatile.

    The FZ-1W is better then any Muff ever made to me - it's they only muff that nails modern blues tones and everything else.

    I bought the FZ-5 about a year ago. Time to get the FZ-1w now.

    I owned the FZ5 for years, never felt digital, I actually didnt realise that it was for long. The F mode is really good, the rest is, shall I say, specific.

    Loving my FZ-1W! Can't say enough good about it, no bad sounds. Oh but I did think it was terrible until I realized the battery was dying!

      😂 I’ve done this more than once with boss pedals. I didn’t even know the front of the pedal unscrews to replace the battery 😂

    I have an FZ-5 and just got an FZ-2. I still need an FZ-1w, FZ-3 and a TB-2w... the TB-2w is crazy in price, though.

    Great video up until you got to the FS5. It seemed that you explored the Tone Bender & FZ1w fully & then spent about 5 seconds on the FZ5 Missed out entirely that O is Octofuzz. M is For Maestro.
    From the 5 seconds or so you could hear some classic tones that Boss had somehow managed to fit into a digital pedal. Now, I generally don’t like Boss stuff, but have recently found that one or two of their pedals are peaking my interest. The Tremolo Pedal And possibly the FZ5. But I will clearly need to watch another video to see it explored fully. As other than the last bit I really enjoyed the video.
    I was very tempted by the FZ1w. But price and versatility would take me to the FZ5

    I bought the FZ-1W cause it was the best-sounding pedal I had tried and tone benders cost too much...

    _The FZ-1w is definitely worth it. Sweetwater has it now at $150 so it’s a great deal. 💰 Great demo for sure guys!_

    FZ-5 is uncomparably the best!

    I'm sure no tech in the '70s calculated the specific voltage of the battery. They'd be more like, "Turn it on and play. There you go, make the most of it."

    Less than a minute in, and that dude playing guitar needs to put his hair in a ponytail lol. The FZ 1W is on my list.

    On the FZ-5, O=Octavia, F=Fuzz Face, and M=Maestro.

    I thought your question was pretty dumb. Which one should you buy the FZ-1w or the TB-2w? The answer of course is both. The only Waza Craft I do not own is the TB-2w at this point in time but I will buy one first chance I can get my hands on one.

    Let’s say money is not an issue, is the Tone Bender in any way better than the FZ-1W?

    • @tonepedia
      @tonepedia  2 роки тому +8

      Our 2 cents - they are so different it is a matter of taste. The TB-2W really does that mk2 thing well, and is more versatile than a standard mk2. So if you’re into that kind of tone this is the pedal! The FZ-1W is altogether a more versatile fuzz in our opinion and while it does not nail the mk2 tone as good as the TB, it is a Fantastic fuzz pedal. We can’t get enough of the FZ-1W. If we were to choose, it’d have been the FZ-1W

    Just paid 100 second hand and compared to my 50$ fuzz pedals I don't think it's as good. Digital? Just muddy, I have a digital hendrix digitech fuzz that is awesome.fz5 no, but in the collection.

    • @solomonsanchez1897
      @solomonsanchez1897 9 місяців тому

      Well, the real comparison wouldn't include the FZ-5 either. Tonally the TB-W, FZ-3, and the FZ-1W are similar enough to be in a shootout, while the FZ-2 and the FZ-5 are too different.

  • @WhiteWizzard
    @WhiteWizzard 9 місяців тому +1

    Tone Bender smokes them both for what it’s supposed to be. Everyone wants to discredit it due to the scalping but that first 2 min is all you need to hear. Tone Benders are about a certain frequency range and note definition that’s super unique and impossible to find in any other circuit.
    The others are just muddier fuzzes.
    Guys that are sloppy players and just doom metal guys may prefer a blanket over it kind of sound , in which there are a million examples of.
    Fuzz Face, Big Muff etc are way more that direction as are modern like Fuzz Factory etc
    This isn’t even a valid comparison except for that they are all boss pedals. These are all voiced very different and only one is a tone bender.
    Fuzz is as subjective as a comedy. It’s to taste.

    • @fadlyhans82
      @fadlyhans82 7 місяців тому

      Definitely not. The FZ-1W is better in this case.

    • @WhiteWizzard
      @WhiteWizzard 7 місяців тому

      @@fadlyhans82 totally disagree. As stated it’s all subjective and the Fz is NOT a Tone Bender but a more modern sounding Fuzz. They are different. As a Tone Bender the TB2W smokes it. As a modern fuzz the FZ has its niche. Both are good but the FZ isn’t a Tone Bender. It’s a certain frequency spectrum and feel that is different. Both have their place and preference. I’m a Tone Bender guy so that’s my vibe.
