    I'd like to see teardown comparisons between earlier versions of DD3 x later versions of DD3. The same applies to early x late versions of CH1 and CE5, both beginning as analog BBD chorus pedals and now they're equipped with digital circuits. Japan vs. Taiwan versions of SD1, DS1, CS3 and so on would be nice too.

    It's a new product, not a re-make of any BOSS product!

      Oh cool, I thought it was a remake of the FZ-5. Thanks!

    I was wondering if it was a 2 or 3 transistor fuzz...turns out it's 12

    • @michaelfowler3187
      @michaelfowler3187 2 роки тому

      A real dodecahedronister design, 12 transistors has more of a ring to it.

    I don't understand why there are so many components in this pedal. The original fuzz pedals had only a handful. what goes on?

      I'm pretty sure it's all for the buffer bypass.

      This is not a remake, it's a new design. I think, they want to create a more predictable and stable fuzz and they succeeded.

    The smd components are buffers and for the binary switching - the through hole transistors are the fuzz circuit. Incredible what you get compared to what you pay for. Waza craft my ass! I will hand it to boss for making solid enclosures, but anyone that believes waza craft is better is wrong - all the boss stuff uses the exact same components - make no mistake about it you are paying for branding, that's it. A child can build a fuzz circuit - I have seen it with my own eyes. Guitar effects, especially stomp boxes are incredibly simple. Anyone that wants a fuzz pedal should consider just buying the components and doing it yourself. 5 bucks in parts, it's a no brainer. Building a computer or digital circuit is a different animal, but no one should ever buy a fuzz pedal. It's a fantastic waste of money.

      The cheapest I’ve been able to source parts for a fuzz has been $15. Add on top of that a solder, all the other soldering skills, learning how to solder, finding the right circuit, inevitably troubleshooting your build, drilling the enclosure… all of a sudden you can see why I have bought all 4 of the fuzzes I own.
      Sometimes it’s nice to just spend a few extra bucks to have things the easy way. Same principle as going to a nice restaurant for dinner, when everybody could easily buy the same ingredients and make the meal themselves at home.
