Millennial here. Went to the doctor the other day, and the Gen Z tech commented how I looked great and looked much younger than I actually am. Unfortunately, I thought she was in her early 30s. Not that 30s is old, but she was only in her early 20s... 😕 Wish this Gen wasn't so hard on themselves.
The guy who said genz is taking on stress AND creating stress is spot on. The amount of stress my genz kids create for themselves out of nowhere is insane. And my 12 year old son walks around limping and complaining that his back hurts, his leg hurts, his ribs hurt etc. he sounds like a middle aged construction worker. And I’m like “that’s because every night you go to sleep in a bed covered in remotes, video game controllers, phones, iPads, piggy banks, chargers 🤦🏻♀️ genz doesn’t have even the most basic understanding of self care and it’s very difficult to teach it to them.

I have older gen x cousins that are nearing 50 who look at least as young as me or younger (I’m 43) At first I thought that as time goes on people age better, like an evolutionary thing. They are aging faster because exactly a lot is emphasized on their look. I also agree with the guy saying they create and social pressure creates a lot of unnecessary stress for themselves.
I think there are really soooo many things that factor into this. There is overly heavy makeup which makes people look older. Sometimes there is overly "done" hair which can also have an aging effect. There is the fact that women in their early to mid 20s (and sometimes even teens) have sometimes been getting botox and fillers with the same frequency we used to do something like get a manicure. This creates a more squared off look with less expression. There is VAPING which gen z has been HUGE on despite most of them not using it to quit smoking cigarettes... rather just to be "cool." HUGE MISTAKE. There's overuse of harsh facial products. There's lack of physical exercise, which we all have nowadays with all the tech, but that's been with gen z basically their ENTIRE LIVES. It wasn't for us. Stunted social development could play a role due to the lockdowns. Then of course there's good old fashioned STRESS and DEPRESSION which gen z for whatever reasons seems to struggle with a strange amount, for being as young as they are. Oh and apparently tanning beds are now cool again, so there's that...
