Love it Stumpy, both the project and music! Thanks man ......
Very cool! I will have to add that to the list of things to make. Looks like a fun build.
Congrats Stumpy. Great Project. Nice music to go with it too.
Thanks for sharing, James, great work! Cheers. Mauro
Ingenious design for a lantern. I had not seen that before.
this is fantastic , great job stump
good build Mike and it's nice of you to let the young guy have the credit (stumpy )
Nice project, Stumpy. I just hope I can gather enough wood to make one. Thanks for the video!
nice job time to go to the shop thank you my friend
Nice project. I like the clean design.
Love the music, love the project.
This is totally the start of the next Hamilton-esque broadway, I can feel it in my bones! Good work ;)
I cant seem to find the plans in the archive. Or the archive for that matter...
Paul Revere and his ride ONLY became known thru the poem. And the poem was written as a warning to Americans as the Civil War was looming. It is still a great tale, and a testament to the men who were willing to brave their lives for the beginning of this country. Revere was arrested that night with the other three. He was released without the horse he borrowed.
Love it.
Original lamp with candle. Like!
What are the dimensions on the lantern?
I like the lantern. Well done!
Cool now I have to flip a coin and do yours or Chad Stanton's version.
How do I find the drawings?
Awesome project....where did you get the candle?
+Tim “tk249” K - It's just a regular white candle from a craft store.
+Stumpy Nubs (James Hamilton) dumb question sorry. I looked at our candles at home and none had the nodule toward the bottom and I wondered if it was a specific style for a lantern. thanks for the reply!!
+Tim “tk249” K - If it will fit in a candle stick holder (as all candle sticks will) it will fit in this.
Terrific thank you
Well that was fun.
And how do we set a new candle inside of it?
The four pins are removed and the top comes off. In some versions there is a slot on the top to slide one glass panel out.
What is the metal part on the top for?
It is a heat shield to protect your hands while carrying it.
+Everfalling It helps control the air flow, keeps rain out if the lantern is outdoors.......and is really good at removing fingerprints if touched inadvertently (DAMHIK). If you want a flicker free candle, make a fingernail sized notch at the bottom center of each glass pane (total 4). You should also line the candle hole with metal so you don't burn the house/tent down when the candle burns down into the base and sets fire to the wax impregnated wood (seen it happen to other peoples campsites).
That sounds even beter!
It was great if I muted the sound!!! Yuuuuk, what was that C rap...oh....sorry Rap! same thing!
One of the pictures I have in my office is me and my Father flanking the stone that markes wher Paul's ride came to an end. Fortunately Dr. Daws escaped and rode on.
wow! Ausome, gyz
👍
Perhaps as a English man I should be offended. Actually it's a great project and fascinating history. Thank you.
+Gary Knight - If the English are still upset about the Revolution, can American's still be upset about the burning of Washington in the war of 1812? I think both are loooooooong past. :)
I appreciate that. It's a good story nonetheless. Thanks again.
Nice little project. Didn't care much for the music.
The English never forget!!
Music could be offensive in UK
