Im trying hemp protein powder out organic from teader joes A few ingredients decent amount of omegas phosphorus and potassium kinda pricey though

      Ever realized black folks have great genes for muscle mass?
      And I'm not dissing plant based proteins (I mix them with whey isolate) but they are a lot less bioavailable so you would need to use about 40% more and from different plant sources to have a complete amino acid profile.

      I drink premiere plant based. I used to drink gold standard whey, and it destroyed my face, also it helps to eat whole foods as well. My acne cleared up.

    From my research I hear the best type of whey as far as dairy goes is Whey Protien Isolate but there are other factors involved with the biovavalibily with Pea protien such as how healthy is your gut and diet because a healthy gut/microbiom will break down the Pea Protien and allow those nutrients to be absorbed but from personal experience I noticed Pea Protien is more lean and Whey Protien is more bulk depends what your fitness goal is I dont think one is better than the other just preference/goals. Just buy high quality and reputable protien powder wether it is Pea or Whey.

    Fiber is great but that's not why you take protein lol. If i wanted fiber I'd get fiber. My issue w most flavored protein powders and drinks is the sucralose. If ur OK with that much carbs and 50% bioavailability of pea protein then go for it. Fiber is great but doesn't improve your physique. Just get a psyllium husk supplement or eat your veg.

    Plant protein is superior when paired with a whole food vegan diet. Animal proteins don’t contain enough fibre to aid healthy digestion, also leads to IBS, heart disease, etc., not to mention 65% of adults are lactose intolerant. Whey protein goes in one end and out the other before your liver even gets the chance to absorb it. There’s no point drinking something with “complete amino acids” if it doesn’t stay inside you long enough to be absorbed. Animal protein is 18th century knowledge. Plant protein is 20th century knowledge. For healthy people, Macro Mike is the only protein powder worth taking.

      Dairy is usually pretty badly digested by humans. I felt bloating after consuming whey and it felt bad for the skin. I eat meat but I switched to plant based power for that reasons. I don’t care if it’s 1% better or worse for building up muscles. There are enough vegan natural bodybuilders who look better than 99,99% of the normal gym guys.

      Probably the fiber. Your stomach will get used to it if you eat it on a regular basis. If you’re eating it sporadically, then you’re gonna have some upset.

    Hold on now look at the heavy metals and bpa contamination study done on over 130 plant based protien poweders. I gave up on drinking protien and doubled up on yogurt. I have a hug bowl to make up my macros 1/2 cup of a full fat sugar free one to 1 cup of 0 fat sugar free. I pop it in the freezer for a bit add monk fruit and a couple berries thats dessert and fills in my carb and protein gap

      Usually the EAAs you buy are vegan too. If you buy a quality plant protein they will upgrade the amino acids. My rice protein has better EAAs then the whey I bought in the past

    Most important thing if you aint outta touch: cheapest whey 18 euro/kg. Soy 9euro/kg. Or 8?. That's in Europe buying huge bulk. Dunno if soy protein tastes good. Only bad experience with cheap protein that had some soy in it. Soy chunks though at 350 kcal for 49 g protein and 7 euro per kg( 6kg bulk) are good. Neutral , kinda nutty , roasted.

    Why look for fiber in a liquid, why look for vitamins and minerals in a protein based drink. If I want fiber I'll eat a solid (mainly a vegetable) if I want minerals and vitamins ill look for a mufti vitamin/ mineral drink.

    I feel like protein shakes and protein bars, or protein supps in general whether it’s plant based or not beat the purpose of being healthy items when most of them contain a ridiculous amount of ADDED sugars, why does everyone ignore that💀that plant based protein shake he grabbed had 4 grams of added sugar for that lil bottle and then you’re gonna drink the rest throughout the week cmon now. Some plant based drinks and bars I’ve seen have 10-25 grams of added sugars in them, that is not healthy whatsoever, added sugars are the worse thing we can consume smh, don’t even get me started in Anabars, everyone lovessss anabars….Well yea they have 20 grams of ADDED sugars in them lmao, thats not even a protein bar that’s a damn sugar snack😭it doesn’t make sense

    25g of beef and 25g and bread or pita is not the same. Bioavailability comes into play when consuming plant based sources for protien. For example, a study showed that if you take Whey protein and Pea protein with the same amino acid profile and it being even more of the pea protein at 32 grams where the whey was at 25 grams, whey still came out of top at around 30% more protein synthesis being triggered in the body. Your best bet for tracking plant based protein is to just cut it buy 50 or even 75%. For example, if you put 200g of white rice in my fitness pal and it says 20 grams of protein just know that your realistically only getting about 5-10 grams of that protein. And than also consider that it wont build the same amount of muscle that 5-10 of an animal source would.

      @@Walker82kg Whey protien is the most bioavailable protien pretty much ever. Just be careful if you have or have skin issues as it has been shown to fuller the issue like acne. Next comes eggs for bioavailability, next beef then chicken and so on.

      Another study says that pea protein results in 20 percent more muscle mass gained. Whey digests very fast, pea protein digests over a longer period of time and can prevent muscles from breaking down and provides a steady stream of protein throughout the day/night. Whey, especially if not organic can be loaded with hormones that dont exactly help

      Sunflower lecithin is good but sunflower oil, palm oil and cottonseed oil are bad except for red palm oil that's good and of course MCT oil is even better but the best is cold expelled pressed because it's not heated due to nutrients not being stripped out and might I add regular palm oil is also bad for the environment.

      Ive just checked there seem to be a less than 20% difference bwt animal and plant based.
      And the benefits of not having to digest very complex and evolved dna is so much mire than having to. Otherwise human meat would be the most digestible and suitable thing for a human.
      Been plantbased after 30 years of daily pork, beef, chicken, lamb, roebuck, fishes, rabbits, wild pig and i ve never felt both lighter and energised, my endurance and sport recovery are much higher than before.

    Im not speaking of the amino acid profile of the protein. Thats a whole separate topic. Im speaking of the bioavailability of plant proteins. Look up what bioavailability means. Its not something made up, its the scale in which our body can absorb nutrients. This is why if you eat spinach and you think your getting 200 milligrams of iron, because its not bioavailable to our body's AND it contains plant defense chemicals like oxalates, your body is really only gonna get about 50 milligrams. Maybe not even that much. This is why if your gonna be consuming something like pea protein, a good rule of thumb to make sure your getting the amount of protein you want is to just consume DOUBLE to TRIPLE the amount. So if you want 40g of pea protein consume 80 to 120 so when your body absorbs only a portion of that 80g your right around the 40g you wanna be at. You can see how confusing this can get. I know... I thought I was getting the amount of protein I was putting in my body aswell

    There was a study that was conducted that the participants drank whey protein twice a day in a 12 week period and the others drank soy protein twice a day. When the results came back, the participants who drank the way, protein there testosterone increase by 28% but the one to drink, soy protein shakes twice a day there testosterone decreased by 2%

      @@18supasinwongjuntip63 I kinda believe it, I've heard of a bunch of studies about just how bad Soy is in general. Specifically the estrogen in it. Its a cheap substitute lots of companies use but at the same time the estrogen lowers testosterone in men and is (linked to) causing obesity in Women.
