Yo people, macros/calories and cost for each meal are on the screen at 02:51, 06:18 and 09:28. Seems from the comments like a few people missed those, which means you're obviously skipping parts of my video and therefore we are no longer friends 😡🙃 x Also the meal prep containers I used are linked in the description.
an extra flavor boost for the meatballs: dice one onion and caramelize it. Let it cool down a bit, then mix it with the raw meat. Finally, add a few teaspoons of mustard and mix as well. the mustard will bind the meat mixture and improve the texture.
This video is amazing I have been looking for a cheap easy meal prep which doesn’t require me to be Gordon Ramsey, and this is the best I have found! please please do more of these 🙏🏼
My man ive literally just started the gym i have a personal trainer im a smaller guy like 65kg 5ft 8 an for me just nutrition an prep is clearly the thing i struggle with the most this is so helpful please keep making stuff like this.
I only recently realized how much low testosterone, combined with unhealthy eating habits, can affect motivation and progress. I found some great tips in a book that really helped me get moving and start working on myself. The book is called ‘You Are Stronger Than You Think’ by Borlest, and it truly opened my eyes in many ways. I’m now on my journey to becoming a better version of myself thanks to it
These are great ideas - I’m planning to relocate soon and have been worried about finding a way to budget my meals - am going to be using some of the ideas in this video. Thanks Joe
I stumbled upon this videi in passing and I couldn't help but notice how smart you are. Thanks for sharing an insight into your thoughts through those side comments. It was so wholesome to watch.
People maybe make fun of UA-camrs like you making simple meal prep videos for years on end, but let me tell you, I still find it very helpful and it got me back on tracking more than once watching these kind of vids.
Aldi is brilliant in the UK for my pack up on a 4 on 4 off rota. I do 2 tins tuna, a pepper, brown pasta, tin of chopped tomatoes for a shift with the overnight oats with myprotein vimto powder. About 80g of protein just there.
for anyone making the chicken you'll still want to flip it even if your oven cooks thoroughly. The neglected underside really misses out on the flavor from the marinade and the slight wetness isn't very pleasant compared to a properly coated piece that's drier. I opted to use chili paste instead of fresh and found you'll probably want more than you think you'll need. When I tasted a bit of the marinade I noticed the spice, but it didn't translate to much after everything was cooked.
finally someone doing food videos from aldi. I shop there a lot but i struggle to find recipes. Dont really get a choice what to get in there, so have to make do.
For the overnight oats, I use a Zojirushi smart rice cooker that can set the time you want the food to be done cooking. I prep it at night before I go to bed. I use steel cut oats. It can create much larger batches and you get it hot and fresh because it is done cooking at the exact time my morning alarm goes off. Add whatever you like.
So much of my current meal prep has fallen back on making stews, chilli, curry with rice or potatoes etc. with lots of vegetables snd meat of course but even with fat and sygar restrictions, it's best for your health to eat as variously as you can, but its hard to break a habit of making the same old recipes, especially when youre planning prep around everything else you need to do. These are some really great ideas that inspire me to branch out and do more interesting stuff when ive been stuck in a rut. Broccoli is absolutely legendary though, I'm pretty sure it'd pair with chocolate if you were crazy enough. Curries, pasta dishes, with stews or in stews, even in place of rice when you're cutting. Love to see it.
I just came across this video. And I love it. The way you listed everything out easy and simple for us to know all the ingredients. You're amazing, and you got a new subscriber. Keep up the great work. I am looking forward to more meal prep. 😁
Would you do a keto-friendly ketogenic version of this video??? I Love that you made a video about the money and the cost of meal plans in the UK!!! 've sustainably been on a ketogenic nutrition plan for about 10 years now. I've been into fitness for many years.
Great recipes. One thing to note for other people who make my same mistake, either use a meat thermometer for the meatballs or just bake them in the over before adding to the orzo. I added mine to the orzo to finish cooking as directed, they came out totally raw in the middle, and i had to throw the entire meal out :(. I dont know if my stove top is just really wack or what, but definitely recommend cooking the meatballs separately.
Breadcrumbs aren't necessary in meatballs but apparently they're added to soak up juices from the meat and keep some extra flavour inside. Not tested side by side but seems about right. Also good to bulk out expensive meat if you're trying to keep costs lower, same with adding lentils, grated carrot, onion, courgette, etc.
when I make the overnight oats what I do is this: at 2 p.m. I put in about 3/4 of a mug of oats (I do this so it's microwavable) I then put in just under 2 teaspoons of cinnamon powder (this is to taste so you can either add a little more in or take it away, bob's your uncle sort of a thing! haha and add in the sugar that you want at the same time. Add in the water to the top of the mug (this is why it was only 3/4 of the way) and around 8am the next morning your oats are done. The lazy man's porridge... haha
Fabulous! The only thing I'd say is if you add Cacao powder to the oats you get magnesium, zinc and copper along with antioxidants. What a great way to start the day by giving those free radicals a bashing (not the UK band Free Radicals!)
This is just what I’m looking for still follow the last budget video u did.. Thanks great film quality & where did all those containers come from?? Love those glasses for the oats 😂😂
Great content Joe as always. You never fail to put a smile on my face and you are about the only UA-camr that makes cooking seem easy and actually exciting. One thing I would ask, what do you say about the Soy and your T levels? should you be consuming the Soy all the time can you replace the Soy with anything to protect your balls? Also why do you use plastic containers? I am sure they are classed as BPA free, I think glass containers (albeit more expensive with help save you T levels again.)
1: He used a tiny bit of soy sauce, if soy did have an effect on T levels it would be negligible. 2: Soy won't do anything to your T levels, that's all bs pseudoscience, time to reconsider where you get your info from
Yo, just wanted to say I've never meal prepped in my life, until today. I made these two meals, and honestly, didn't fuck it up as highly expected. true chad bro for real. thanks.
One thing you gotta try mate, mix a low fat yogurt (about 350-400g) with ESN Leons cereal (1 scoop) then an apple, some pumpkin seeds, raisins and cinnamon (oats optional) Thank me later 👊🏻
For the overnight oats, you can swap out the normal peanut butter for PB2 and it will cut down on the calories, add on to the protein intake, and allow you to use more peanut butter for a third of the normal calories within them. :)
Listen man , it can be repetitive for chiken rice brocoli but man , something that works shouldnt be fixed right we can just add to that absolute holy grail😂
Really great stuff, thanks for sharing. I tried cooking the orzo with meatballs which was really nice. Used the tip of grating some of the cheese into the meatball 🤤🤤
