Thanks for the review. It really shouldn't be that hard to make a decent first person tactical sniper game that isn't just riddled with cliches as wannabe action movie moments. I'm glad CI are finally getting around to doing that. I might have to pick this one up.
i i just wanted to ask did you ever play these RTS games act of war direct action (a modern rts in the style of C&C with FMV and tom clancy style techno thriller writing by dale brown) World in Conflict an rts in a similar manner to Ground Control, in which players deploy units onto a battlefield and must carefully make use of them to achieve victory in acold war gone hot scenario(which which humanised all of it's characters on both sides of war). and the classic rts rise of nations an age of empires empire earth civilization hybrid type game?
I have World in Conflict and both Act of War games, but haven't really gotten around to them yet. I've played Rise of Nations and even shown it in one of the channel teasers.
It boggles my mind that they didn't add a co-op mode to this. Stealth/infiltration games like this have massive potential for fun co-op (See: MGS Peace Walker) yet they didn't bother at all. PvP multiplayer in this genre can never work, but coop would be great.
Yeah it was an odd choice to go for PvP instead of co-op. I'm guessing it was easier to develop than a co-op mode though. Contracts 2 is currently singleplayer only so we'll have to wait and see whether they decide to try implementing something like that later on.
I honestly have no idea how this company is still alive since i've known it here in eastern europe since i was a small kid and everyone hated their games but we all played them because they were just so cheap although seeing how far they have gone is really inspirational
You can turn off the bullet cam entirely. I don't think you can turn off the slow-mo on takedowns. I'm not sure if you can turn off the trajectory or not, but you probably can.
So far I agree with all your reviews of the sniper ghost warrior games. Been playing them all on stream over the weekend and well ya 1st was basically unplayable, 2nd was eh 3rd I quite enjoyed and im about 50% of the way through this one and by far the best of the 4. Rather looking forward to Contracts 2
Sad part is that SGW1 isn't even the worst sniping game CI Games has made. That sordid dishonor belongs to Sniper: Art of Victory, which I've been saving for a multi-game video specifically about awful WWII games. They've definitely started learning from their mistakes though, so hopefully they'll keep the trend going with Contracts 2.
Appricaite the in depth review..... just crazy that it's 2021 and we are settling for these recycled non invitave games like i don't feel any difference having the new xbox from having the old... biggest cash grab over the past 20 years are these new consols.... Worst part is just like smart phones and various technology they are going to keep drip feeding us sub par bullshit with higher price tags.
They reduce the decibel level of a gunshot, usually to the point of being hearing safe. That's actually the main reason to use them. In a military context that dB reduction can make shots from significant enough distance not instantly recognizable as a gunshot, or at really far distances, can make it very difficult or outright impossible to hear it at all.
@@DWTerminator Yes it's extremely hard to communicate in a gunfight because of... well the guns. At the same time it's extremely important to communicate so you don't shoot your friends. They simply dealt with it, hence the serious hearing loss most veterans suffered from. Of course many would use what was available (cotton, paper, a piece of cloth, etc.) but it wasn't very effective.
They just had to put up with it and gradually started suffering from hearing loss. Hearing protection in general wasn't much of a thing until the 1980s.
The fact that these devs accepted that they screwed up with the generic open world map of SGW3 and decided to focus on handcrafted open world maps with Contracts1, and succeeded within their fan base makes me happy for these sorts of AA quality slightly janky games. Now with Contracts2, they have further streamlined their approach and delivered what their fans wanted. Although I wish there were more than just 5 maps to play with, I am having an absolute blast with Contracts2. These games are janky no doubt, but are priced accordingly and at least on PC Contracts2 has fantastic optimization, virtually bug free and a good step up from Contracts1 graphically. CI's past games were truly horrifying but I personally have loved playing both Contracts1 & 2. There are a lot of people all over the world who enjoy playing these slightly janky AA games and CI seems to have successfully tapped into this segment.
@@JG-po6ff Both C1 and C2 have 5 maps but C2 has 3 very long range sniping maps. I throughly enjoyed all the maps of C1 and am 3 maps into C2 and am having a blast. The 2nd map in C2 is freaking huge with multiple entry and exit points. This map for me is absolutely the best that CI have designed so far. There are more map dlcs planned in the future so get it on PS5 in a year's time where it should get even more qol improvements. As of now the game on PC is very stable and a looker if one isn't anal about absolutely cutting edge graphics. The paid skin dlcs are garish and quite frankly pathetic of CI(these should be given free), but one can skip them as the ones in the base game are much more in line with the desert setting. If you liked C1 you are in for a treat with C2.
@@DWTerminator I am surprised they have been around for 19 years without making a single good game, especially considering how cut throat the industry can be.
DW giving a S:GW game 3/5? What a time we live in!
3/5? So it's a Masterpiece by CI Games standards
Magnum opus of city interactive 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I got some enjoyment out of SGW 3, so I guess I'll give this one a try as well.
this is probably the most competent City Interactive game so far
I'm almost certain, it has the highest metacritic score out of all CI games as well
Probably? More like definitely.
@@DWTerminator not familiar with their recent stuff, the only game I knew of that seemed decent was Alien Rage and even that game is mediocre

You can turn off the bullet cam entirely. I don't think you can turn off the slow-mo on takedowns. I'm not sure if you can turn off the trajectory or not, but you probably can.
Can you review Sniper Elite 4?
I plan on doing so eventually.

Wait. If supressors don't do anything, then why the fuck do we have them?

So how do let say soldiers during ww2 fire their weapons if it damaged their ears

A comparatively good score of a Sniper Ghost Warrior game? What is going on with CI Games? XD
Perfect timing, currently -70% on steam.
I noticed that when I was getting the Steam store link. It's also currently in this month's Humble Choice.
I can say for sure this game is masterpiece one of kind
It's neither a masterpiece, nor is it one of a kind. The sequel is practically the same game.

Going to pick up C2 on PS5 when it launches, how does it compare to C1 and which do you

I like the sniper ghost warrior games better than the sniper elite games
So, they finally made a decent game?
Took them long enough...
I know right? "Only" 19 years since they were founded to finally make a fairly decent FPS.
@@DWTerminator I am surprised they have been around for 19 years without making a single good game, especially considering how cut throat the industry can be.
As far as I can tell, their primary market is Eastern Europe... which tends to gobble up the crappy games because they're usually pretty cheap.
Never even heard of this game lol
CI games is like Canon films
Will you review Sniper Elite 4?. I found those games vastly superior to Ghost Warrior
As I mentioned in another comment earlier: I plan on it.
Sad cause these games are fun there’s a market for these games.
No real Russian language and accents in this game? Come on CI Games, вкладывайте больше усилий в свои игры!
Took them 4 games to finally land a shot.
Not exactly a bullseye, but still a pretty high mark. At least by their standards.
They're at least hitting the outer rings of the target now.
This game runs absolutely god awful on the Xbox one. It is absolutely unacceptable and freaking ridiculous.
That doesn't surprise me.
