Thank you for another great video featuring this beautiful city. You have inspired me to share some recommendations for travelers following your footsteps: 1) Civica 5 de Mayo - a large park named after the historic battle that was fought against French troops in Puebla - it has a teleferico, numerous museums, a restored historic fort and many miradors from which to look at the beautiful views across the city; 2) Museo Amparo, with a variety of galleries (pre-Hispanic artefacts to modern art) in a stunning colonial building. It has a cafeteria and roof deck from which you can take in amazing views of the church domes nearby; 3) The rooftop cocktail bar and pool at the Azul Talavera hotel (it was called Rosewood when we visited). Wander the surrounding Barrio San Francisco (the oldest) and be on the hotel rooftop for sunset views across town toward the volcanos; 4) More rooftop drinks at the Hotel Royalty next to the Zocalo. Great views at sunset and after dark; 4) I have to shout out our Air BnB hosts who manage La Berenjena - an excellent wood oven pizza and tapas restaurant on Calle 3 Ote (we walked through the restaurant to get to our lovely studio apartment upstairs) - the food was great! You were so close - in fact we had breakfast at the same nice cafe as you (Cafe Santo Patrono); and finally - walk every street in Centro and pop into every church - the architecture is stunning - especially the talavera tile decor on many buildings. Eat a cemita, Puebla's famous sandwich, along the way. We spend 5 days digging deep in Centro and did not get a chance to visit Cholula or Atlixco (next time).
Puebla city has been my hometown for most of my life; I recomend you to visit the town of Chignahuapan, north of the State of Puebla; go visit by Christmas season. Thousands of marvellous glass spheres are displayed and sold, you can't be sure where to start by. My little suggestion is the main square first; if you believe you've seen it all, then go the outskirt and finish up at the Castillo de las Esferas (a two-stories shop) as the end of a long day! Welcome when you choose to get there!!
I've been living in Puebla since June and you saw more than I have! Loved your video! It was a great reminder I really need to leave the house more! Nice job!
