Hola from BC, Canada. I dream of returning to Mexico after visiting for 3 weeks in 2018. I want to live there, so am interested in smaller places, not big cities. 😃
Try Tepic, Nayarit on West Coast. 2800-3000 ft elevation within 45 minutes of the beach - cooler up here. Smaller only about 450K population - about size of Albuquerque, N.M. Hotbed of Naturalist Medical Doctors and Naturalpathy and even Homeopathy. Far cheaper than GDL, Puebla, or CDMX and 80% less crime in my estimation. I have a friend that just moved up from the coast ( think New Orleans in the summer), as too hot for him. I drove him around as we have about 6 micro climates here. He was from San Francisco originally so after everything I showed him the Fracc. "Alaska". Named for the cool fog that hits that part of town first coming up the mountains from the beach every evening. Too cold for most but he absolutely fell in love with it and rented a studio Apt. there and loves it. No Gringo Gulch here, just a small list of Gringo and Canadian Mavericks, living amongst the very friendly Mexicans. We don't want a Gringo Gulch here - no Guayabitos crowd either. If you can't blend in, then DON'T come. We definitely don't want any Gringo Gulch here, neither the locals or us Gringos/Canadians. Cost of living is about 35-40% cheaper than in GDL. Was there just for a short period but I’d like to go back. ¿Do you know if a city like Puebla will have a Dia de Los muertos celebration this year or any tip how I can find out. ?
You can most certainly count on there being a day of the dead festival in Puebla this year. But you can always google Dia de Los Muertos in Puebla 2022 and see what comes up
It’s safe to live in Puebla but like any other large city there is also crime. But if you ask people living here they’d tell you they live a normal life
How is Puebla different from Guadalajara? Is the cost of living cheaper in Puebla? Is Puebla as nice of a place to live as Guadalajara?. Please respond back anyone!
The cost of living is very similar throughout Mexico with the exception of rentals and proximity to the downtown or Centro area. Guadalajara is probably slightly more expensive in terms of rentals but it is a much much larger city
My husband and I have been living in Playas de Rosarito in Baja California Norte for the last 7 years and are about to become Mexican citizens. (Hopefully we pass the Spanish test) We want to move away from the noisy beach scene and settle in a quiet neighborhood in a medium sized easy to travel from city. Puebla is clicking our boxes. We are planning a trip to Mexico City and Puebla in April/May 2025. Is there a relocation person to help us. We don't need to buy the Immigration guide, we are permanent Residents. Been there done that.
Hi there. It depends on your lifestyle But it can be done with as little as $1000 USD a month- although you should know that this will get you a vert very modest rental and not a Loy of budget left for entertainment etc. we think $1500 a month is more realistic as a minimum You also gave to consider health costs. ☺️
Riding a bicycle in Mexico in my opinion should be limited to the areas where they have bike lanes only. Which every large city tends to have in certain areas ☺️
@@MexicoRelocationGuide It doesn't, but Mexicans say that Puebla is like a suburb of Mexico City, since the vibe is pretty similar. Same Universities, same schools, same hospitals, similar malls, similar restaurants, similar nightlife, similar people, etc. But smaller.
@@camouflageartist8897 If you don't like the Suburbs, Puebla has a lot of urban neighborhoods with street cafès, restaurants an bars. La Paz for instance has a very vibrant street called avenida Juárez, and has a lot of trendy Appartments.
@@camouflageartist8897 you can also get houses on urban neighborhoods. But they're obviously a bit more expensive than apartments. Now, Puebla suburbs may look similar to American suburbs, but they have some key differences, they're more walkable, have more public spaces, public transport, are more dense and are closer to city cores. They're not perfect, but at least they don't sprawl as much as in the US
Thank you for this idea! I like Mexico, but find it intolerable living among large numbers of other American expats, like in Ajijic or Medellin in Colombia. Puebla warrants a visit!
Glad you like the video- You know there are FAR more places in Mexico that don't have expat communities like Puebla. There are only a few places in Mexico where all the expats live. So if you don't like that, you'll find way more variety than the opposite. :)

Such a pretty place. I am looking for and realize it may not exist, a town like this that is much closer to a beach/coast.
Open the Mexican map and start exploring - there are many towns like this
Xalapa, Veracruz is near of the sea.
Hi, I'm watching your video from Las Vegas, Nevada... I'm really thinking about some day move to Mexico, God willing
Would love to help you. Check out the site mexicorelocationguide.com/blog

watching from Austin Texas. Thank you.
Gracias! Bienvenido
Puebla looks fantastic. I live in Chillicothe, IL, a small town in Illinois with a small Mexican population (many are my husband's family). The Mexican population originally moved to Chillicothe due to the railroad jobs. His great-grandparents are from Guanajuato. I'm interested in at least spending a few months in Mexico when we retire in a few years. Interestingly enough, he is NOT. We'll see. For now, just looking and I love your channel by the way!
Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching :)
Enjoyed your vid here in Atlanta, Georgia. I have a friend here who is from Puebla. One thing I find missing is decent proximity to the ocean. That would be nice.
In Mexico you have coastline in both sides so cities near the area ocean are plentiful!
@@MexicoRelocationGuide true. I was referring to Puebla specifically. Can't walk or ride your bike to the ocean.
Excellent!! I'm in Fort Worth, Texas
Welcome!
well done and interesting
Gracias Rob
Love all your information thank you
Muchas gracias a ti!

Hi Marianne I love the video!!! Love your channel very informative. Would love it if you do a video of what to pack and bring with you to travel in mexico while deciding where to live. How do we prepare for the big move!!! Thank you🥰
thanks Marietta- man this is a hard one because it fully depends on where you plan to move to. But I can probably do something like this for you guys :)
Thank you so very much. A challenge is good😄🙃
Look forward to it. I'm planning on going to puebla in Sept/Oct this year.🥰
Hola! Great video, can you provide the website for the house and apartment rentals you showed at the end? I tried Vivanuncios, but most of their listings are outdated. Gracias!!
Hi Tao!
Some of the listings came from the realtors we recommend in the area.

Hello, Truly enjoy your videos. Your interviews plus all the content you have for cities. i have a question. there is a city that was founded by a few families. while talking to Pastor Tammy, this subject came up. now i remember watching a video with this info. would this info be one of you videos.
Hi, I'd love to move to Mexico in a few years, but of course I'd love to explore the country 1st (I'm completely open regarding where to live) and I wondered whether you are aware of or could recommend a multi-month vacation/tourist option to view the entirety of Mexico by tour bus that would include lodging options? Pls let me know, thanks!
We have a variety of Relocation Tours- but you have to book your own lodging and transfers between cities mexicorelocationguide.com/tours/private-relocation-tours/
Great, thanks very much for this info and for your quick response! I'll be sure to look into this ... Take care!
Was there just for a short period but I’d like to go back. ¿Do you know if a city like Puebla will have a Dia de Los muertos celebration this year or any tip how I can find out. ?
You can most certainly count on there being a day of the dead festival in Puebla this year. But you can always google Dia de Los Muertos in Puebla 2022 and see what comes up
Please cover Vera Cruz. There's so little on this location.
We’re thinking about it for future videos. Thanks for the suggestion
Intriguing. Air pollution seems to be an issue. Your thoughts?
Air pollution is certainly more noticeable in the larger cities of México
is this city walkable or bikeable?
Are there mosquitos in Puebla? Huge worry of mine!
Not as prevalent as other cities with more rain and water sources nearby
@@MexicoRelocationGuide Thank you!!
Muy bueno muchachita 💌
Gracias

Hi Brendan! Thanks for watching 😀
We like smaller towns, but I got to thinking that there has to be smaller towns near by to all the large cities. Is this correct?
You’re absolutely right. For Puebla there is Atlixco and Cholula ☺️
Hi from Zwitzerland. I am planing to go to Cuernavaca and i am interest in Dentists there. Could You please make a video about ?????
Thanks for the suggestion
this city is really nice. I am wondering if this is safe area?
It’s safe to live in Puebla but like any other large city there is also crime. But if you ask people living here they’d tell you they live a normal life
I could only decorate that Puebla is one of the safest cities in Mexico
How is Puebla different from Guadalajara? Is the cost of living cheaper in Puebla? Is Puebla as nice of a place to live as Guadalajara?. Please respond back anyone!
The cost of living is very similar throughout Mexico with the exception of rentals and proximity to the downtown or Centro area. Guadalajara is probably slightly more expensive in terms of rentals but it is a much much larger city
Do you have info about Cholula ?
Sorry I only have info on Atlixco and Puebla at the moment mexicorelocationguide.com/?s=Puebla
We can only give you access to our private relocation tour guides if you buy the guide. 🙂
I have been thinking about relocating. What is general cost of living? I am 65 retired with retirement and social security checks
Hi there. It depends on your lifestyle
But it can be done with as little as $1000 USD a month- although you should know that this will get you a vert very modest rental and not a Loy of budget left for entertainment etc.
we think $1500 a month is more realistic as a minimum
You also gave to consider health costs. ☺️
@@MexicoRelocationGuide i dont need the lap of lugery. With those prices i may as well stay here.
@@MexicoRelocationGuide does that 1500.00 include all living expenses. Food water, electric, gas, phone, internet, rent?
@@MexicoRelocationGuide what are health costs? I have VA health so i dont pay anything right now
Is this where you live? How can I find an affordable apartment in Puebla?

Interested in driving small scooter snd bicycle . Looking for culture and low cost of living
Riding a bicycle in Mexico in my opinion should be limited to the areas where they have bike lanes only. Which every large city tends to have in certain areas ☺️
Puebla has decent enough bicycle infraestructure in it's urban Area. Cholula is super bicycle friendly.
How about the issue of drug cartels presence in Puebla? Is that a serious setback there like it is f.ex. in Tijuana, Jalisco, Ciudad Juarez, etc.?
Puebla has all the Pro's of México City without the Con's.
It’s a great alternative but doesn’t exactly compare to México City
@@MexicoRelocationGuide It doesn't, but Mexicans say that Puebla is like a suburb of Mexico City, since the vibe is pretty similar. Same Universities, same schools, same hospitals, similar malls, similar restaurants, similar nightlife, similar people, etc. But smaller.
@@ThePathbauer Sounds Good! 😃👌
@@ThePathbauerYou're right, it's like Mexico City but smaller and cheaper.
@@jonnylebrunyou are absolutely righ!!!

Welcome 🤗
It sounds interesting, but those American suburb style divisions are depressing.
Depends on your style. If you like to have EVERYTHING in your backyard, it’s very convenient. These houses are selling like hot cakes
@@MexicoRelocationGuide Is there anything else to buy? Perhaps that's why those houses are selling. It's like in the US, there is no selection.
@@camouflageartist8897 If you don't like the Suburbs, Puebla has a lot of urban neighborhoods with street cafès, restaurants an bars. La Paz for instance has a very vibrant street called avenida Juárez, and has a lot of trendy Appartments.
@@ThePathbauer I'm not into apartment living, but American suburbs are deadly. It's sad to see Mexicans going for this dehumanizing lifestyle.
They're not perfect, but at least they don't sprawl as much as in the US
👍
how u doing?. incredible ! taalk you later,🤩
Please don’t move to any city in Mexico , I hate living with expats too , I would like to be the only expat there . Thank you
