@@our-travel-journal I suggest you visit nearby Suzhou and Hangzhou, which have a longer cultural history than Shanghai. Zhujiajiao is too small to have any fun. It's not worth wasting time.
Seeing our Sydneysiders visit China and breaking the media myth about China is great. Even greater is letting kids know from their naked eyes the world is not always like what the media says. Nice investment mum and dad.

China is one of the countries that is modern and developed, yet still so enmeshed with its ancient culture. They have clothes, food, books, habits, traditions that are hundreds or thousands of years old that every Chinese person still practises till this day, the same way it was done when it first started thousands of years ago. Eg moon cake festival, dragon boat festival etc.

Why do I feel my eldest daughter has grown taller? The German pork knuckle is very delicious. There is also a shop in Zhujiajiao where the pork knuckle tastes particularly good.
The water in the ancient town comes from Dianshan Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Shanghai. The scenery is beautiful. I often bike around the lake and go kayaking because my home in China is in Zhujiajiao.

The price difference between farmed and wild-caught fish can be up to five times, so you might think you’re getting wild fish, but it could actually be farmed. I wouldn’t recommend it. But there are some local farmhouses around Dianshan Lake where you can get the freshest catch straight from the lake, and it’s much cheaper than in the ancient town.

Thousands of ancient villages popping up all over China Was in Yantai a few weeks ago on business and a local took me to one of At the front it said 1857 my friend explained to me that the site where it was built is reclaimed land from the sea and there had never been a village on this site He further explained they were building them to pacify the locals

India lost a lot of historical facts under the near 200 years of the British Empire. Even today, India still have many disputable claims on many issues. From my experience there. I think Indians are too judgemental and too nationalist.

I suggest you go to Xitang old town,Or the old town of Anchang in Shaoxing,Better than Zhujiajiao.
