In fact, what's even more incredible is that China has over 100 cities that don't look much different from Shanghai (aside from the CBD areas). For example, you can check out this aerial video of the China's Top 50 cities: ua-cam.com/video/GZgNTjFqKMg/v-deo.html. China operates under state capitalism + market economy + freer trade than the U.S. (the U.S. bans Chinese cars and communication equipment, but China doesn't) + helping the poor and impoverished provinces (the communist/socialist part). You can Google 'Top 100 highest bridges' and see the first two search results: 90 of the world's top 100 bridges are in China, and 60 of them are in Guizhou, one of China's poorest provinces. The efforts China makes for its poor provinces and poor people are truly remarkable; I could talk about it all day. It is shameful that the West calls the Communist Party of China an evil government, just because the Chinese government can't stand the smears from the West and the people are brainwashed by the West, so it controls the Internet and bans Western media. I hope more people can understand the truth: What a great achievement the Chinese government has made for its people.

Dear friends planning to come to China, I suggest you take the time to travel to the smaller towns in the mainland. The food and scenery there are better, and the people are more genuine and hospitable. The big cities, with their steel and concrete, have little to offer in terms of beauty. The food there is also commercialized, which I personally don't enjoy. You are all welcome to come to China

Strangely, a channel under the name China Undercover almost always portrayed Shanghai is on the brink of collapsing. Its video contents are about desolated Shanghai street, shoos, and factories. That unemployment is soaring, young people crying in despair, and so on, why is that?
As a Chinese and Shanghai local, I would say channels like "China Undercover" or "China Uncensored" are always faking the news. The pictures they used are either heavily post-processed or are just pictures from incorrect time and location. They do that clickbait people that China is falling apart to make money out of it. Although the unemployment situation is pretty bad here in China, but far from "crying in despair". There are also various government plans to reconstruct or renovate old parts of a city for further development(拆迁), to do that the government usually pays the original local residents a compensation fee (usually around $1 million in central Shanghai) in exchange for the "ownership" of these old residences and shops. Once the process is completed and everybody's moved out, that's when these old towns may appear to be empty and dislocated, while the truth is these places are just sitting there for further plans to be redeveloped.
It’s easier 😉 Next time we also want to go to more rural areas but in a city it’s easier to get around (no need for a car), find food that the kids like or are willing to try, …
You are right. I blame my upbringing where we always heard either „capitalism“ or „communism“, left or right, right or wrong, black or white … finding the grey or even colorful is sometimes still a challenge 🙈
if you like cosmopolitan megacities, shanghai is cool but there are so many better places to visit. even nearby, you can visit hangzhou, suzhou, and nanjing which are all 1 hr high speed rail from each other and from shanghai. obviously you want to see shanghai, but I would have spent the bulk of available time sharing it between those 3 cities than shanghai 😂. marco polo once wrote hangzhou is the most beautiful city in china and there are many natural scene hikes you can take there. suzhou has a huge ancient canal system. there is an chinese proverb - the sky has heaven, the earth has hangzhou and suzhou 😉. nanjing was also once the capital and has an ancient history. there is also a famous german commemorated there - a nazi in fact who saved hundreds of thousands of lives during the japanese invasion. other places everyone will say is of course beijing, but because there are many government offices there, new travelers might find it annoying going through all the security checkpoints near the center of the city. yes there are many famous places to see, but with that there will be huge crowds so if you plan to go to beijing, go during off season when it's a little more cold if you want to avoid the crowds. xian is also a nice place, ancient capital and start of the silk road. there's a lot of muslim influence and the terracotta warriors are nearby as is huashan if you want to do some insane mountain hiking. almost any place you go will be like half the cost of shanghai in most cases so it's more budget friendly and more authentic because I see you are eating a lot of street/food court stuff in tourist locations lol. go to any local restaurant and order 3-4 dishes with some rice on the side. you can have a very good meal for a family of 5 for 10-15 euros.
@@our-travel-journal John H. D. Rabe, who joined the Nazi Party, came to China in 1908, but he was anti-war and was merely an accountant for Siemens. In the Japanese invasion of China during World War II, the Japanese killed over 300,000 ordinary Chinese citizens in Nanjing alone. However, Mr. Rabe saved over 250,000 Chinese citizens in Nanjing before and during that time, otherwise the death toll might have been even higher! He was truly great! He was a friend of the Chinese people, and we will always remember him! The post is very good, but I have always been reluctant to put the term "Nazi" and Mr. Rabe together! Sorry!
15:00 China has a lot to offer When it comes to nature sceneries. For beginners Zhangjiajie is a good start. Your kids will love to see hundreds of pandas in the preservation center in Chengdu. If you come during winter time Harbin winter festival is a good destination.
Glad that you enjoyed Shanghai. Please let more Germans know about China! I watched the DW news just yesterday, a random German guy being interviewed on the street said that China wouldn't be his first choice because it's place "you can visit and see 'interesting' things, but it wouldn't be a place to relax and vacation because it has a different social system". I wish he comes to China and see how people here actually live!!
I am Chinese, first of all welcome you to my magical country, the people here are very friendly, we have a long history, these histories are like rivers constantly depositing the sand and gravel of civilization, educating us that we need to be warm and friendly to our guests, I believe You feel it too, and I hope this trip to China can clear up many misunderstandings. China does not need perfection, but it needs the truth. I hope you have fun and have a safe journey. If anyone still says that you are being sponsored, then what is sponsoring you is only a small gift, which is the warmth, kindness and kindness from thousands of years of civilization.
The so-called "seeing is not as good as seeing, and seeing is not as good as experiencing". The 144-hour visa-free transit policy allows you to enjoy beautiful scenery, delicious food, kindness and sincerity, and enjoy all kinds of beautiful things in the world.

It was nice, have a good time
Shanghai is not more western than western countries, it’s just the way people think the west should be. Shanghai is in the future
Or maybe the present?😉
Great video! Love it!
Love your comment ❤
Shanghai has more than ten luxury shopping malls, Nanjing road is not one of them, it’s mainly for tourists.
最后一段好伤感 有时间了随时 欢迎你们一家来中国旅游
🥰
Big eye opener.❤
5:14, the little boy is so adorable! 😍
😊 Malik likes to hear that 🥰
Dank der Kinder wurde ihr Video sehr lebendig👍👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Dankeschön!🥰
If the belt and road system started. China as a main hub for the trading would be even great.
Is really good for the future generations.
I wish them all the best.
At least their leader willing to cooperate with the world instead of war.
The international hotel the Radisson where i stayed is right next to Nanjing road..
Thank you 🥰 we will come back!
Welcome to China ❤🎉
Thank you for your objective evaluation of Shanghai and China. The Chinese are not rich but not poor. The greatest advantage of China is security, which does not need to be flattered or discredited. Congratulations on unlocking Shanghai, one of hundreds of cities in China. I hope you will come back as soon as possible. Are you confident of unlocking 100 cities in China?
We just need the time 😅🙌
Amazing place and people

Enjoy watching your video about China.
Happy to hear that!☺️
I really envy you that you can travel around with your children. .
😘
Strangely, a channel under the name China Undercover almost always portrayed Shanghai is on the brink of collapsing. Its video contents are about desolated Shanghai street, shoos, and factories. That unemployment is soaring, young people crying in despair, and so on, why is that?
When a channel keep show negative and no positive contents then it is BS just like many western news.
Exaggerating sells, I guess?🤷♀️
And if you look for it, you’ll always find a negative side, too. But the opposite is the case aswell 😉
US has allocated a few billions, I repeat, a few billions of USD to fund negative propaganda, or rather, fake news on China.😢
they film before the stores are open in the morning lol
Wow!好city!
China not only has cities, but also various landscapes. It is very strange that foreigners only travel to China's cities.
It’s easier 😉
Next time we also want to go to more rural areas but in a city it’s easier to get around (no need for a car), find food that the kids like or are willing to try, …

我来自中国,我们把上海称为“初学者村”,类似于游戏的起点。
I don't understand why people keep saying China is communism. China is Socialism !
You are right. I blame my upbringing where we always heard either „capitalism“ or „communism“, left or right, right or wrong, black or white … finding the grey or even colorful is sometimes still a challenge 🙈
What's in a name, doesn't matter. It's what the nation truly is that matters.
This is no longer the most important thing, it's just a synonym.
if you like cosmopolitan megacities, shanghai is cool but there are so many better places to visit. even nearby, you can visit hangzhou, suzhou, and nanjing which are all 1 hr high speed rail from each other and from shanghai. obviously you want to see shanghai, but I would have spent the bulk of available time sharing it between those 3 cities than shanghai 😂. marco polo once wrote hangzhou is the most beautiful city in china and there are many natural scene hikes you can take there. suzhou has a huge ancient canal system. there is an chinese proverb - the sky has heaven, the earth has hangzhou and suzhou 😉. nanjing was also once the capital and has an ancient history. there is also a famous german commemorated there - a nazi in fact who saved hundreds of thousands of lives during the japanese invasion.
other places everyone will say is of course beijing, but because there are many government offices there, new travelers might find it annoying going through all the security checkpoints near the center of the city. yes there are many famous places to see, but with that there will be huge crowds so if you plan to go to beijing, go during off season when it's a little more cold if you want to avoid the crowds. xian is also a nice place, ancient capital and start of the silk road. there's a lot of muslim influence and the terracotta warriors are nearby as is huashan if you want to do some insane mountain hiking. almost any place you go will be like half the cost of shanghai in most cases so it's more budget friendly and more authentic because I see you are eating a lot of street/food court stuff in tourist locations lol. go to any local restaurant and order 3-4 dishes with some rice on the side. you can have a very good meal for a family of 5 for 10-15 euros.
@@ivyshy98 wow, so many great recommendations!!!😍 Thank you so very much!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️
@@our-travel-journal John H. Sorry!

We will, at some point for sure!
@@our-travel-journal Welcome at any time, Shenzhen is also one of the four first-tier cities in China❤️
It will take time to change perceptions but the visa-free approach is the right way, we believe 😊
China is a peaceful and pleasant country.
Good 🎉
Super modern
Super kapitalis und
Super sauber 👍
China hat viel zu bieten außer Shanghai
💯
Please visit Dali and Lijiang!
What a great analogy! Thank you for taking the time to comment and welcoming us in China!🤗
