Cracking video. Learnt a lot about head rebuilds and pleased to see the job done thoroughly and properly. Might have changed that wing if one in colour available. Perhaps you could get a popup gazebo while you find a unit. Don't like the handheld filming while driving - get a fixed mount. Might be worth putting an old towel on top of the engine while the rocker cover is off to stop bits falling in. I'm sure you've learnt from every mistake you made and will not repeat them. Have you got a mechanic's stethoscope to pin down noises?
If there is not enough thread left on a broken stud before you try to put the nut on it flatten the top of the broken stud ( if possible)then center punch it and drill into the broken stud then with the indent made by drilling weld onto the broken stud to build up the height of it thenget a nut the right size put it onto the stud then weld it and there should then be enough bite from the weld to undo it combined with the heat you put into the broken stud
@Josh.Sanderson with the welder for the initial adding weld to the broken stud try to pump heat into the stud aswell by having it build up the weld pool slowly
What a class video. Top notch work, editing and filming etc. If you offer free lance mechanic work at all, shout it out in the videos. I'd absolutely trust you to work on my cars!
Thanks max really appreciate it! So nice when the effort that goes into the video is appreciated! Unfortunately don’t have any time for that with the videos but thanks hahah
You don’t need to thread the nut on to the broken stud, just place it on top and weld all inside, for the nut not to just snap off let it cool down naturally around an hour, always works, never fails me.
@ always does haha, we have a welder who’s unreal, he comes into our workshop and does all the big/major stuff, he gave me that advice and it works all the time for me
Nice work. You know that skimming so much from an ohc engine will shift your valve timing, don't you? A mild cam might tolerate this, a hot cam won't and you lose midrange power. The fix is filing yourcam pulley slots and setting up with dial gauges, which isn't especially simple. Most people ignore it outside racing.
It’s common practise to skim these heads in the machining world and there’s never any issues with timing, the difference is so minute on a bog standard engine like this you’d never notice any difference in the real world whatsoever, you have to remember it’s not even half 1mm being taken off the straight run of the timing chain. In racing where engines are running at very precise tolerances and at maximum power most of the time it’s important but not on an old daily driver
Great video! Your talent is impressive. Just a gentle suggestion: instrumental music might work better while you speak since lyrics can sometimes distract.
Great work! Im from glasgow, and we have a very good car auctions here. I buy only good cars with long mot, service history at a bargain price. I try to buy cars that will require the least effort possible to no effort at all. My strategy is to get a car out from auction, straight into my yard, and straight to my next buyer Some cars ive made £1600 literally same days while lowest £350. But overall work is good flipping cars for a living. It does require a lot of experience, patience and hunting for a bargain on the bid.
Awesome video. I was thinking this was going to be one of those ‘I bought a car cheap, polished it and made ££££’ videos. Glad to be wrong, some proper work you put in there.
Thankyou i enjoyed watching. One thing though! The proffit you made wasnt really proffit. You just employed yourself to strip and rebuild the car then sell it . A garage would have charged you more for the labour than you made.. However im now subscribing. 👍
Thanks for the sub man! Yeah i get that, In my head people use the word profit for making any money themselves online at the moment but its always hard trying to decide on the right words and title etc. hopefully you enjoy the future videos!
Have you thought about getting motor trade insurance, trade plates and then registering the cars you buy "into the trade"? Then when you sell them, you're only adding 1 more owner onto the car (not yourself too) and it makes them worth more because you keep the number of previous owners fewer. Also, you don't need to add insurance each time. And if you are on plates (eg for testing the car) you don't have to pay extra tax too. By all means, if you choose to hang on to a particular car for a little longer you can register it then pay its tax, but you don't need to pay an admin fee etc each change of car on insurance. Also it means you can let potential buyers test drive the car and you're covered properly.
@@Josh.Sanderson I guess you know the numbers, if you make more money from UA-cam than flipping the cars then its different. Above a certain number of cars/year though, its always going to make sense to do the insurance/plates/etc

Cheers hope you enjoyed! I did actually order one with the bonnet but it never arrived sadly!
Subscribed! Good job, keep it up lad!
Thanks man!!!
well done mate, great job and sticking with it
Haha cheers man thanks for watching too
If there is not enough thread left on a broken stud before you try to put the nut on it flatten the top of the broken stud ( if possible)then center punch it and drill into the broken stud then with the indent made by drilling weld onto the broken stud to build up the height of it thenget a nut the right size put it onto the stud then weld it and there should then be enough bite from the weld to undo it combined with the heat you put into the broken stud
@@186scott worth a try next time cheers
@Josh.Sanderson with the welder for the initial adding weld to the broken stud try to pump heat into the stud aswell by having it build up the weld pool slowly
Respect for all the work you put in, subscribed and liked.
Can't wait to see more of your videos!
@@hydrolics5449 thanks so much man! Hopefully you enjoy the future videos just as much!
Amazing video mate well done never skipped a second of it.
Legend man thanks for watching!
Great job man keep it up :)
Thanks! No plan on stopping!
Rather than taping up the solder job, look into shrink wrapping. Looks better, and lasts longer.
Good shout!
What a class video. Top notch work, editing and filming etc. If you offer free lance mechanic work at all, shout it out in the videos. I'd absolutely trust you to work on my cars!
Thanks max really appreciate it! So nice when the effort that goes into the video is appreciated! Unfortunately don’t have any time for that with the videos but thanks hahah
bloody hell what a repair...you have great knowledge on cars
Thanks man! Not too sure about great knowledge though haha
impresing work, well done 💪
Thank you man!
You don’t need to thread the nut on to the broken stud, just place it on top and weld all inside, for the nut not to just snap off let it cool down naturally around an hour, always works, never fails me.
That makes sense I’ll have to let it cool properly in the future! Although my welding leaves a lot to be desired 😂
Props to you for taking on all that on your drive! Subbed 👍
Haha thank you man! Wait until you see the next one hahaha
Great video! Your talent is impressive. Just a gentle suggestion: instrumental music might work better while you speak since lyrics can sometimes distract.
Thanks so much man I really appreciate it, yeah I do try but for some reason I was really struggling to find decent music on the site I use
Those photos are pure art 🔥
Haha thanks man!
Damn that’s a lot of work so fair play for that, great video
Cheers sam! Glad you liked!
Great work! Im from glasgow, and we have a very good car auctions here. I buy only good cars with long mot, service history at a bargain price. I try to buy cars that will require the least effort possible to no effort at all. My strategy is to get a car out from auction, straight into my yard, and straight to my next buyer
Some cars ive made £1600 literally same days while lowest £350. But overall work is good flipping cars for a living. It does require a lot of experience, patience and hunting for a bargain on the bid.
Cheers man, I try to get more interesting fixes etc to make the videos interesting, cn make it take a lot longer to be fair
Good job on that one. I'd say you well and truly earned and deserved that profit
Felt like it afterwards haha thanks man
What a job! Throughly enjoyed watching that and learnt some things too
Glad you enjoyed man that what i do it form
Great video , never give up 💪
Thanks man glad you enjoyed!
Awesome video. I was thinking this was going to be one of those ‘I bought a car cheap, polished it and made ££££’ videos. Glad to be wrong, some proper work you put in there.
Thanks man really appreciate it! It is nice when a car just needs a clean though 😂
Nice video :D Looking forward to following the channel.
Thanks man I really appreciate it! More videos coming and the next project is huge!
The work was a bit intense for a flip, really like the machine job you done on the head. The car came out pretty good thouh. 👍
Yeah that is why I included the price to pay someone to get the machining done. Easy job then, cheers!
Great vid! Subbed!
Thanks man glad you enjoyed!
Just found ur page m8 great content got a new subscriber
Cheers man appreciate it! Hope you enjoy all the vids
Some good tips in there 👍
Cheers!
great video mate £1900 isn't bad going
Cheers man! If it wasn’t cat N more profit but oh well haha
Yeah I’ve been looking into it but for some reason a lot I’ve spoken to don’t want to do it as ‘I’m in the entertainment industry’
@@Josh.Sanderson I guess you know the numbers, if you make more money from UA-cam than flipping the cars then its different. Above a certain number of cars/year though, its always going to make sense to do the insurance/plates/etc
