That left handed bit pulling the sheared bolt... that was so ridiculously satisfying. Its NEVER been that easy for me. Seeing somebody else luck out makes me so happy.
Pro tip: take any fairings off the bike and give the whole thing a good clean before you start working on it. A little pressure washer and some elbow grease works wonders. It makes working on the bike soooo much more pleasant.
Love it, that you have no Idea what you're doing, but still go for it and get it done. Even when you would not make that much profit, you still got something out of it!
Great video Josh, don't want to ruin it but you put the chain link clip on the wrong way, it is an MOT fail... the opening end has to face to the rear of chain movement direction
Chain also looks a bit tight. You shouldn't need to force it that hard to see the spec slack. Not too big a deal on a bike with so little power, but tight chain can do damage on a big bike.
@paulclark7637 isn't it best to run in a new chain? For my motocross bike I sometimes need to adjust the chain again after first use (usually by adjusting the back wheel length)
Was about to say the same. I made this mistake once on my ZX6. Went to make a quick get away from the traffic lights when the link came undone and jammed up the front sprocket. Luckily I was only about 200m from work but that felt like the longest push of my life!
When it comes to repairing electrical wiring, my go to method is using wire ferrules that squeeze around two bare copper standed wires. The clamping force alone is enough to prevent them coming apart and the compression of the two wires effectively creates a solid conductor without the need to solder. Prior to that I slip on some heatshrink material, and I use a little glue from a glue gun to create a water proof seal as the heat shrink shrinks down and you see the glue ooze a little out of the heatshrink ends, since the heat required to heatshrink melts the glue gun adhesive. I do have a very nice soldering iron, but this is my go to method. The heatshrink will outlast the electrical tape, and produces a waterproof seal since bare copper will be at risk of corrosion after a couple of years exposed to the elemnts. My experience is re-wiring a 40 year old sailboat and building my own LifePO4 house bank.
@@Josh.Sanderson the other method is the connector that has solder inside a heatshrink sleeve. Heating to melt the solder also shrinks the outer. Everything you need in one item. Great video btw Josh, thoroughly enjoy watching what you do

I make $5k-10k/mo flipping sports bikes. Typically 2003-2010 gsxr/cbr/zx6-10/r6-r1s. I do about 40-50 bikes a year. Lots of easy money, very little work!
@@hank.marvin I buy these older super sports for $3000-$4500. Sell for $5500-$6000-$7000. Most take 1-2 weeks to sell. I have an instagram where I started posting some bikes this year. @bike.lore
@@hank.marvinstupid money for cars in the UK?? From what I see from auto alex and a couple more British channels, the prices ya'll get some cars for is absurd and WAY below anywhere in Europe, the world even,in some cases less than half. Granted that more often than not they're rust buckets like I didn't even knew you could get but still
Tip for back wheel installation is to use an air wedge , normally used for hanging doors, you put it under the wheel, pump it up and you don't need to lift it up to align it. Great for front wheel as well and v cheap
I did this for my living for a long time. Granted, I had a head start by already having been a rider for a decade when I started with all the self (and friend) sorted mechanical experience. But it wasn't hard to find a sub $1000 motorcycle that wouldn't run, give it a full service and sell it for arround $1000 in profit (usually ~$2500). I could typically do 2 a month, but I really stocked up Nov~Feb on the cheap bikes to be sold later in the year and I'd try HARD to be ready to not sell during those same months, saving up for the spring rush. Occasionally I'd stumble onto a great deal... one that jumps to mind was a basket-case 93 VFR750 I paid just under $1000 for and sold for $4500 (this was still in the 90's, bike was only a few years old). The "side hussle" from that was providing repair and service to the bikes I sold/the people who bought from me. I tended towards more beginner friendly motorcycles, so they'd need a little more service most of the time (unwilling to do basics like valve adjustments, tire changes, or basic servicing on their own). I was cheaper than any shop, more than happy to teach the owners, actually encouraged them to participate. Anyway, it all made for a comfortable life where I worked from home, doing something I liked, at MY pace and time frame. Sadly, where I live currently isn't conducive to the same life, they charge the full tax JUST to change title to my name which eliminates most of the profit, so it's either try to sell something I never titled, which a lot of people won't touch, or buy it as a personal bike, eat the cost and just take less 'proft' when I sell a year or two later. Still pays for everything, I ride for free (all registration, insurance, gear and bike paid for by this flipping). I mean, it's my time and I would probably spend fewer hours overall working in computers as I trained to do than I actually spend working on the motorcycles, but one's fun and one makes me want to watch the world burn, so there is that too.....
I was interested in buying and selling motorbikes, but it's not as straightforward as dealing with cars. For instance, in Scandinavian countries, obtaining a driving license is significantly more complex. If you haven't driven a vehicle before, you'll need to start from scratch. The costs for completing all the required classes and tests can range from €500 to €2,000. For a motorbike license, expenses can reach between €500 and €3,000, depending on your skill level, with the average being around €2,500. Moreover, the average cost of a beginner motorbike is between €3,000 and €5,000. However, you can only ride it for a few months before the riding season ends. In contrast, cars can be driven year-round, making them much more practical for everyday activities like grocery shopping, get kids to school and get yourself to work etc.
Good tip for ya mate Next time draining oil if the drain plug is close to the exhaust, get a piece of cut cardboard. It’ll help prevent the oil splashing on the exhaust :)
Nice video, i flip a couple bikes a month, usually bmw's where purchase and profits are somewhat more. 10k purchase, 12.5 resale, £500 budget/spend. However its seasonal and on more the top end bike fsh dealer is essential for a good sale. Usually if they dont go after 2 weeks the market has spoken and my asking price is too high !! High end scooters are also a good seller
Thankyou man! I’m sure you can tell I’ve no idea what I’m doing but it was such a fun project. I will be doing! I’m going to try and flip a bike bike that makes enough profit to pay back all my training for full license
Regarding checking the oil level, always do it with the bike upright and DO NOT screw it in. You only dip it in, that goes for most, if not all bikes. Good video though, I enjoyed it!
Thanks man! I did do that after Googling it just don’t want to make the video too boring and include absolutely everything if that makes sense. Thanks for watching im glad you enjoyed!
A good tip m8 always do a good job it pays dividends not only for peice of mind for yourself but also when you build up a good reputation for doing things right and customers will flow keep standards high also don't compromise with cheap parts always insist on new parts when doing anything the times people would ask me in the past to put second hand parts i always refused unless it was a bodypart ie wing or something that wasn't brakes or suspension etc hope you dont think im telling you anything im merely passing on some well used knowledge 😊
I wouldn't be too critical about your efforts or your level of repair expertise, as it's apparent that the prior owner was even less informed about keeping their ride in good trim. Thankfully it is a late model with all your parts in steady supply, where most of mine are seriously troublesome as they haven't made many parts for them in 35 to 40 years now. You obviously are doing too poorly, and with a more discerning eye, these minor catastrophic failures won't take place as often. Just thankful that you weren't injured trying to bring it back home, as a tire failure is rather serious at speed. Warmest regards.
Just watched a video you've put out for the first time, and going to subscribe! Hate to be one of those people, but please don't just wrap soldered wires with electrical tape, always shrink wrap it to make it waterproof. The tape is just asking for more corrosion to occur in there. Also, sprockets were probably fine, and could have saved money with just a chain. Good luck on future bikes!
I didn't even know they made an MT 125. I ride an MT07 and was contemplating picking up an MT03. Anyways I subbed, hopefully you do more moto content after investing in the cardo and gear lol

I just picked up a 2007 cbr600rr at auction for $3500 (AUD) after fees all I need is to spend is $500 for rego and I can flip the bike for 6-7k. Watching this video makes me excited to try and flip more bikes and hopefully make some more money.
I don’t know what it’s like in aus but couldn’t believe how easy it is compared to cars, I think here in the uk every man and his dog are trying to flip cars so finding bargains is getting really rough, that’s why marketplace monitor has been such a huge help to me
love the video - wish you were a bike channel I'd sub and watch everything! get a stripped bolt extractor you'll not get that lucky again :D they are like little bores that are reverse threaded and you may not have to drill out and re-tap bolts like that. ( without getting lucky ) maybe get a van for transporting bikes? that's what I would do - or one of those mini japanese trucks so I could also use it for little family outings :D wasn't your ride back home illegal? ( no mot, insurance .. I'm assuming you had a CBT done..) I'd be interested for my own adventures but I think for that you need some sort of special cover and an mot pass cert? did you have temp cover? For rear wheels you can get this little blow up cushion thing on amazon that will hold the wheel at just the right height to get the rear axle through. You can set correct chain tension on any bike without knowing specs by compressing the rear suspension until the swing arm is positioned so that it creates a straight line to the front sprocket (impossible for the chain to get any tighter when suspension is compressed whilst riding) then setting one inch of play from there. Gas powered solder is peng for this type of work I may get one. my god use flux though, so much easier. should have replaced the right brake lever before selling as it is an obvious sign that it's been dropped or crashed. Oh my god the left is bent too.. Always good to look online with the bike reg to history check it for theft and to get an idea of what repairs you might need to do - or avoid buying altogether! marketplace monitor app 25 quid a month damn I was interested but... too much. anyway I subbed just to support your channel although I'm not into cars.
Thanks for the support and kind words man! A lot of valuable information there thanks man! Also I know it does seem a lot but if you flip one bike it pays for an awful lot of it and I know I’m biased but I genuinely can’t flip cars or bikes without it anymore, there’s so many people doing it all the good deals get taken up so quickly
Great job its good to see a young guy doing his own maintenance signed all of gen X .. also should have kept that bike to practice for your practical test its perfect , then flipped it
@@Josh.Sanderson it may have been the case, but I still think the bike was clocked. The chain and brake pads are also indicating higher mileage. But nevermind, the bike is sold already😁
I was thinking the same thing when i saw those brake pads. They last forever especially on a light bike like that. If thats true mileage they beat that bike hard
I think the previous owner was doing stunts on it, like stoppies(explains the front breaks worn out) and burnouts(explains the rear wheel) Edit: also my thoughts are made more realistic, as these bikes are like honda groms. They are mainly used for beginner stunt riders
There is one thing you done wrong over there and it’s very dangerous… Chain link locking clip need to be other way around (The closed end always going facing the direction chain is moving) please fix asap.
Buy a plug spanner. They're much thinner than a normal socket. And as someone already mentioned, that chain is far too tight. Oh, and riding with a tyre in that condition is madness. And did you buy a new mirror? Apart from all that, not bad!

I've been trying to buy a decent bike for a few months and I'm convinced no one actually wants to sell. They just want to list the bike for 2k too much and turn down anything close to what it's worth.
Thanks man, yeah I tried to haggle down but the seller wasn’t having it even though nobody bid £1000 not worth what I paid in the state it was in but still made a decent video
I would like to know how on EARTH you managed to get insurance for ~£60 as a new rider? I just bought a very similar Yam MT-125 after doing my CBT (think I'm a similar age to you and have been driving a car for 10 years) and the cheapest possible insurance was 1k for the year after much shopping around. But enjoyed the video thanks
10:40 soldering stuff on a motorcycle (or car) is a bad idea. The vibrations will eventually introduce cracks into the solder and make the connection bad or even make it break. Crimping it is the way to go.

More stock in America, it's a different market in the UK, and people want stupid money for their bikes/ cars now, even in a shit state.
Not gonna happen in europe lol! People know their shit, they never sell cheap.
Granted that more often than not they're rust buckets like I didn't even knew you could get but still
that was so cool I learned so much! please make more!
Thanks so much man I really glad you enjoyed the video, I did film it quite a while ago haha just took a while to edit
You did a great job, I’ve always wanted to do this as a side hustle/hobby
Thanks man, it was a lot easier than working on cars for sure
That's awesome. Well done!! :)
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi mate, great video. Just want to let you know, the front sprocket is connected to the output shaft of the gearbox and not the crankshaft!
Of course… that obvious now I think about it haha whoops! Thanks for watching though!
I'd love to see more motorcycle stuff. There aren't a lot of channels who make this kind of content and do it that well.
Good video man! I'm considering doing this with dirt/ dual sport bikes here in the States.
Thankyou man! Go for it! I see people making a lot more profit in the states not sure ehy
Just got an mt-125 for when I do my cbt in spring can’t wait, great looking bike.
I loved it so much , perfect beginner bike
I'm impressed that you managed to sell it with that price. I sold my cb125r 2019 with 1900, after a long wait and loads of listings
for how much?
I think the mt125 are worth a bit more because of the 15bhp engine, they were all similar prices when I listed it
@Josh.Sanderson i think is because they are accesibile with cbt , and loads of people use them for food delivery.
Tip for back wheel installation is to use an air wedge , normally used for hanging doors, you put it under the wheel, pump it up and you don't need to lift it up to align it. Great for front wheel as well and v cheap
I was thinking there has to be an easier way to do that haha thanks for the tip man
nice work mate fully enjoyed watching this from cars to bikes! what next!
Thanks man really glad you enjoyed!!!
Great work brother as always! 📈🔥
Thanks broski! ❤️
One makes me want to watch the world burn 😂 trust me on some car projects I know exactly where you’re coming from
For bike fans the Matt Armstrong of bikes we've all been waiting for.
Haha what a compliment! Definitely doing more!
This guy is a legend. Success mate.
❤️❤️❤️
We need more content like this..love from Malaysia ❤
No way thanks for watching!
Great video, I’d watch more of this content
Thankyou man definitely doing more bikes in the future
Good tip for ya mate Next time draining oil if the drain plug is close to the exhaust, get a piece of cut cardboard. It’ll help prevent the oil splashing on the exhaust :)
Deffo won’t make that same mistake again… it took so long to get all the oil off haha
A piece of tin foil doubled over and shaped to clear the obstructions also works.
Great vid mate !
Thanks a lot mate! Really appreciate it
Nice video, i flip a couple bikes a month, usually bmw's where purchase and profits are somewhat more. 10k purchase, 12.5 resale, £500 budget/spend. However its seasonal and on more the top end bike fsh dealer is essential for a good sale. Usually if they dont go after 2 weeks the market has spoken and my asking price is too high !!
High end scooters are also a good seller
Thanks! Where do you buy them from? I’d be curious about doing more expensive items
Massive biker fan here and this is brilliant. Will you be flipping any more in the future?
Thankyou man! I’m sure you can tell I’ve no idea what I’m doing but it was such a fun project. I will be doing! I’m going to try and flip a bike bike that makes enough profit to pay back all my training for full license
Great video. Get some heat shrink to put over wire repairs in the future👌
Thanks mate, yeah deffo gonna pick up some better connectors
Regarding checking the oil level, always do it with the bike upright and DO NOT screw it in. You only dip it in, that goes for most, if not all bikes.
Good video though, I enjoyed it!
Thanks man! I did do that after Googling it just don’t want to make the video too boring and include absolutely everything if that makes sense. Thanks for watching im glad you enjoyed!
@@Josh.Sanderson If you do not include the finer points in the video someone might copy you and screw up.
9:20 little side note, the clip is on backwards, the closed end should always face the direction the chain is moving👍🏻
Yeah I did get told that by my colleagues so fixed it haha
Love the video. Just a tip the chain is waaaay to tight. It could snap especially if rider is heavier
Thanks man! Yeah my colleagues told me so I adjusted it haha
For sure man some days it’s a struggle but I try my best to treat my projects like I’m keeping them! Thanks for the sub too!
Top quality content as usual 🎉
Glad you think so man!!!
Yes another video, 👏 yes lovely. My evening sorted
My Guyyyyy 👊👊 hope you enjoy!
Cheers man I really appreciate it! Hopefully you enjoyed the video too! Yeah I rode very very slowly at first lol
Thanks for subbing man! Yeah with the sprockets I wasn’t sure so thought best be safe. But there we are! Onto the next one haha
I never seen a chain so tight. Need to loosen it or it will cause damage
It was loosened don’t worry, I got lots of advice from my colleagues that are bikers
After the way that broken bolt came out you should have gone and done the lottery. 😂
Haha for sure! Couldn’t believe something went right!
Enjoyed it do more motorcyles and i will keep watching. 👍👍
I didn't even know they made an MT 125. I ride an MT07 and was contemplating picking up an MT03. Anyways I subbed, hopefully you do more moto content after investing in the cardo and gear lol
I would love an mt07 my friend just bought one what a bike! More bike content will come for sure, next few videos are on a huge car project though hope you enjoy!
( without getting lucky )
maybe get a van for transporting bikes? that's what I would do - or one of those mini japanese trucks so I could also use it for little family outings :D
wasn't your ride back home illegal?
Good job on the whole but that chain is too tight and split link on wrong way round
You shouldn’t adjust the chain slack whilst on the centre stand as it will tighten when the weight of the bike settles back down on to the suspension
Makes a lot of sense, thanks!
Great video!
Thanks mark!!
Great job its good to see a young guy doing his own maintenance signed all of gen X .. also should have kept that bike to practice for your practical test its perfect , then flipped it
It’s too expensive to send it somewhere else for maintenance 😂 yeah I got a good bit of practise in just still saving up to book my big license!
Awesome video brother !! Why didn't you use electric power drill as screwdriver? Is it cuz there were different types of screws?
Thanks man! I just don’t have an impact gun or any bit holders for my drill is all!
@Josh.Sanderson Ohhh ok it will save loads of time and energy. Thanks for taking the time to reply 😊
I think the bike was clocked. There is no way tire on 125cc is worn out that much with such a mileage.
It was worn really flat so I think before selling the previous owner did a huge burnout my best guess
I think the previous owner was doing stunts on it, like stoppies(explains the front breaks worn out) and burnouts(explains the rear wheel)
Edit: also my thoughts are made more realistic, as these bikes are like honda groms. They are mainly used for beginner stunt riders
always check the oil with the bike level. not on the side stand
Make another motorcycle one! I love watching people work on bikes so I can learn too nice job
I’m keen to it was super fun!
You forgot to change the broken mirror😶
Yeah I couldn't find a replacement anywhere! Luckily the buyer didn't mind too much
@@Josh.SandersonI Hope this comment can inspire you for a video, (can i have please a tag in your next video?)
There is one thing you done wrong over there and it’s very dangerous… Chain link locking clip need to be other way around (The closed end always going facing the direction chain is moving) please fix asap.
Yeah I did pin a comment explaining this but my colleagues at work told me so I switched it round at work
Nice work Josh.
Thankyou man!!!
Buy a plug spanner. They're much thinner than a normal socket. And as someone already mentioned, that chain is far too tight. Oh, and riding with a tyre in that condition is madness. And did you buy a new mirror? Apart from all that, not bad!
Good video, nice to see a bike flip its something different. When you were riding the bike was it north wales?
Thanks Steve! Hoping subscribers don’t mind a little change of scenery for one video, I was in wales yeah!
@Josh.Sanderson I thought it was, I'm in Wales myself so it looked familiar
0:23 Wait, you need a motorcycle driving license?💀I have been driving for years without license😂
@@Recap-m6 until u get caught
@steve00alt70 Well, I bought another one this Christmas, so... ACTION!
Next time you install a new paper gasket, coat it with grease. It won't stick to the cases the next time the case cover is removed.
Great editing
I live in California around a ton of wealthy people
They all have side hustles like this
Thanks a lot man! Takes me longer to edit than it does to flip the bike haha, yeah side hustles are huge in America but in the uk very few of them are profitable I don’t know what the difference is but here people don’t want to pay big money for services
would love to see the next bike be a co-part bike. hope its not long till we see the next bike.
Oooof might be a bit beyond me but I’ll try anything!
Oof might be a bit beyond my skill level but I’ll try anything!
@@Josh.Sanderson think the right Cat N wouldn't be too far off what you've done so far, would for sure be more work. either way I'm subbed and alerts are on so looking forward to what ever you make.
I've been trying to buy a decent bike for a few months and I'm convinced no one actually wants to sell. They just want to list the bike for 2k too much and turn down anything close to what it's worth.
Nice one 👍 the boy done well, but I feel you could of got it cheaper, good work and vid though 👌
Thanks man, yeah I tried to haggle down but the seller wasn’t having it even though nobody bid £1000 not worth what I paid in the state it was in but still made a decent video
Got a bike listed for cheap at the moment, winter means no buyers. Doesn't help it's a YBR250 and people keep thinking it's a 125
Yeah man deffo rough time of year to sell
The chain tension must be adjusted with the swingarm loaded. that's way too tight.
Definitley noted! Cheers
Depends a lot where you are too, but I didn't have the bike for a year obviously it was £60 for 1 month
Wow. I pay €72,- a year for a Dutch registered 600.
You should do more motorcycles! its fun
Nicely done 👍🏼
Thank you! Cheers!
10:40 soldering stuff on a motorcycle (or car) is a bad idea. The vibrations will eventually introduce cracks into the solder and make the connection bad or even make it break. Crimping it is the way to go.
