I bought a wrecked Nissan GTR from a salvage auction & attempted to rebuild it in 24hours without leaving my workshop. But it wasnt as straight foward as i first thought. The R35 GTR arrived with the common transmission fault, if the transmission is faulty on it then id take a huge loss so now ive got to figure out a way to fix it in the 24 hours whilst keeping it under budget.

My grandpa had the first GTR in Connecticut. He went to go do a routine service and Nissan techs had no idea what it was since it was so new! This car is an amazing beast

To be fair if I was buying accident damaged cars and auctioning them off for 4 times the value of a new motor I would be smiling too
I've started my business 3 year ago and I love where I'm at I found what I loved and called it work. Even thought it isn't really lol however nothing is impossible you can do anything mat is proof that doing what you love makes a difference in others people's life. I'm down with being a positive impact in others lives

If a transmission fault is common problem on the GTR, doesn't that mean Mat may come across that problem at some point? To myself personally, that would be a lot of money wondering if it's going to happen on this car, but then again, buying any car you are going to maybe have problems at some point.
@@MyCracker1234 No if he fixes the problem with some upgraded parts that are not that expensive, the fix is well documented, it is all about preventing it.

you can´t realy compare chris from b is for build and matt... Chris builds whole cars from scratch, does entire Bodyswaps etc... Things that just involve lots more work behind the camera. Matt on the other hand, can film nearly everything he does because theres not hundreds of boring hours of CAD work etc. involved

Kudos to Nissan for making even their sportiest cars easy to work on. That door was off and on in minutes with just a few bolts. Love to see it.
I’m not disagreeing with you but isn’t that the point? Obviously Skylines are raced competitively and subject to panel damage so a fast turnaround for things like doors, boot, bumpers etc would be a racing necessity. Obviously the race cars won’t have the steel panels but they are necessary on road cars for safety reasons. I think the point you validly made is due to racing homologation and would be expected. I am agreeing with you though.

I’m just learning about this channel and I know Matt will never see this but I envy his lifestyle and energy. I hate what I do and the life decisions I made. I’m broke unhappy and it’s hard to watch UA-cam where ppl make good money doing what is basically their hobby. Man did I screw up.

the reason why you attach the positive terminal first is, that when you tighten the positive terminal and your wrench accidentally touch the body, there will be no short circuit.

The main reason why we need to connect the positive terminal first for the battery isn't because the direction of current flowing, it's because safety. When you connect the positive terminal first, the car's chassis (which is usually grounded to the negative terminal) is not yet connected to the battery. This reduces the risk of a short circuit if your wrench or another metal tool accidentally touches the car's body and the positive terminal simultaneously.

Truly one of the best youtubers. Most would see this as a challenge but I was able to see what is actually possible within 24 hours. If Mat can fix up and put a GTR back together in that time, then who knows what we could dop with our 24 hours and make a change in our own lives. Truly amazing. Thank you, Mat.

mat you might want to buy a Sheet Metal Hole Puncher 5mm (its like pliers) so you dont have to drill holles in panels anymore we use this in the bodyshop
