    • @A-E-RON

      @@The2FO huge difference because of the markup. The one I tested was only the GH Hybrid MAX limited, and that had a markup of $9,500. The sticker price was almost $68k. The Mazda Turbo S Premium had no markup but already had added equipment worth $2000, which brings the total to almost $59k sticker. so it's $9K, give or take (taxes and fees not included).

  • @chengchiwo
    @chengchiwo Рік тому +15

    CX-90 is more European styling, driver-oriented and sportiness. It's still very practical in terms of its size while the interior qualtiy is comaprable to what Lexus is offering. Mazda is also the only Japanese car manufacturer to offer inline 6 rear wheel drive which is comparable to German brand say BMW.
    Grand Highlander is on the other hand made for grannies (smile) and it equipped with traditional Toyota receipe - boxy design, roomy inside, hybird drivetrain and old school interior layout.
    But if you sit in you would notice immeidately that material used was quite terrible (otherwise no one will buy Lexus). There are lots of hard plastic on the side door panels and is no match with CX-90. Also while the third-row can be flatten a bit, it's not comfortable. The legroom is actually comparable on both car.
    Also wondering if I miss out anything, but when you fitting in 2 car carseats on CX-90 you put them on the same side , while GH they are not - wonder if it's a fair comparison?
    If for the same amount of monies, CX-90 is a no brainer.

      The interior is a major upgrade, the passenger volume is up, and the powertrain is gutsier. That said, we prefer the CX-9's styling, and if you didn't plan to use the 3rd row all that often, the CX-9 might be a real bargain at a fair dealer.

    Heads up for anyone that is considering the CX-90 with kids. We was able to fit 3 across using three Graco SlimFit LX car seats. Installation for us was the left and right rear facing car seats were using the latch anchors while the center was using the seat belt for forwarding facing. We obviously you won’t be able to access the 3rd row as the CX-90 is missing a tilt option. However, this is great for us as we’re only having 3 kids. If we ever need more seats, we can move two car seats to the back forward facing, giving us two more seats in the 2nd row.

      It's really hard to argue with a minivan's practicality, and while the G Highlander is about as spacious as something in this segment gets, you might be missing the cargo space a minivan offers behind the 3rd row. Tough to ignore the Hybrid Max of the GH. More power and better mileage is a great combo. And the GH is the more spacious of the two. Conversely, the CX-90 is the better driving car, and it's HP and MPG numbers are nothing to sneer at. I think at the end of the day they're both great vehicles and it's going to come down to personal taste. Either way, you can't lose.
    One thing I am curious about is the cloth used on the CX-90 dash. I wonder how well that will hold up in a year or two of service. How prone to getting dirty and can it be safely cleaned. I love the look but I'd worry it will look old before it's time.

    I’ll take the Mazda over the Toyota. I used to own a 2019 Tacoma ; all the plastic interior is flimsy and can easily scratch. Beside, Mazda makes some reliable cars.

    GH wins on looks alone, CX-90 is not only looking almost identical to the previous model CX-9, but also looks like a van! It also requires a premium gas, which combined with worse mileage makes it a pretty questionably choice when EVs are becoming a mainstream!

    • @A-E-RON
      @A-E-RON Рік тому +6

      While premium gas is recommended, You can still put regular gas but you'll lose 20hp.

    • @scotthall1381

      Regular gas is not going to hurt the engine it only loses horse power, and that is only on the s level trims
