I’ve watched my man struggle with employment opportunities and get the short end of the stick all because of a mistake he made when he was young. Great work ethic, hard worker etc. He has no idea that I’m doing my research to begin investing in the start up of our own moving company. Big Vic I'm in the Baton Rouge area and I'm making 15 to 16,000 dollars a month and I have a 16ft box I have a contract with a company I don't do any load broads, whatever I make they give me 70% and they keep 30% if you don't believe that I have all the statements I made 52,200 in 4 months.. Contracts are what it is... Everything else expect to much from you with the Lil pay and on top of that I don't have a lift gate....

Thanks for all the info, I did end up getting a Class B CDL truck (33,000lbs GVWR) because there is such a big market for the Non-CDL trucks that they were up there in price buts it’s alright because I have my CDL (and I’m in California lol). You aren’t kidding about all the phone calls that start happening once you apply for your DOT# (plus text messages and emails for some companies).
I should be rolling in 2 to 3 weeks, just waiting for the letter to come in the mail saying I’ve been granted authority to start operating from the fmcsa. This has been months in the making, I’ll look forward to the celebration after the 1st day of work with the family. Thanks for your guidance!

I’ve been rolling regularly since November 2022 now, the hardest part for me was getting started (setting up the authority, truck insurance, IFTA since I have a CDL truck, getting CA number, there are a few more details I can’t think of right now but I’ve mentioned a few of the tougher ones that come to my mind because I had the truck so long before I started working). Still the greatest decision I’ve made for my work life.
I’ve done Amazon Relay the most, there are multiple areas I can pickup loads to deliver that aren’t too far from where I live. And there is also an app called “GoShare” that has been warming up quickly which has led to some pretty big weeks recently.
Thank you brother. I'm looking to get into this business. I've been driving for 20 years. I know all the ins and outs of delivery to customer service. I've been doing it for someone else, now it's time to do it for myself. I'm a subscriber now and will watch and take notes again.
