- Johnny Depp, while testifying for a second time in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, was asked about his former business manager Joel Mandel, who testified earlier in the trial about financial problems Depp was having. Depp called Mandel a "bitter man" who had schemed with others to take money that Depp had earned. A lawsuit between Depp and Mandel was settled in 2018.

No amount of money can buy you more time in life, hence time will always be your most valuable commodity. The richer a person is, the more valuable that persons time is. So Johnny taking time to visit hospitals etc is far more generous than any money donation he could give.

The Bible says to give to charity is something that you do in secret, to give from the heart, you do it not to boast or puff yourself up.
Very few people donate "anonymously" any larger monetary amount to charity, because then they cannot claim it as taxable deduction from their income.
Put another way, if you are willing to donate a certain amount, it is smarter to do it by name, donate a larger amount and use the tax mechanism to reduce to the sum you were willing to donate.

Problem is this is a defamation suit, not a domestic abuse action. Don't get me wrong, I think she defamed him and he should win, but we have to remember that Amber Heard is not on trial for domestic assault, so we can't expect a judgement in Johnny's favor, based on anything she did to him besides what she wrote.

Body language speaks volumes between a victim and an abuser. Amber's demeanor has been frorward, aggressive, haughty and she held her head up, stared directly at Johnny, and over exaggerated with her bad acting. However, Johnny is just hunched over, looking down most of the time.. he's so calm and humble but you can see the hurt on his face and the agony of the abuse from over the years. I am not even a fan of Johnny's, but I have been a victim of a narcissist. What it does to you is twist you into confusing knots that take a very long time to untie. Like the audio in Australia after JD lost his fingertip, in which you can clearly hear Amber admit to doing it even though she lied under oath and said JD cut it off himself. Like Jennifer Howell's letter outlining how Amber was abusive towards her sister and it was Amber who nearly pushed her sister down the stairs, not JD. How her sister said she was afraid that Amber would one day kill JD. I'm not going to go into everything. Do your own research.

I believe Children's Hospital bestowed one of their highest awards on him for his charitable donations and charitable work over the years. You can tell he is incredibly uncomfortable having to speak about himself in this way. When you look up pictures of Depp surprising the children at the hospital, they not paparazzi pictures. They're pics taken by the friends and family of these sick kids. There are a handful of actors who prefer to approach charity in this way. I know Keanu Reeves is like that as well. Sadly most actor's can't be bothered if their not showing up in a crowd of paparazzi with their Publicist at their side, or they're walking into a 50 thousand dollar a plate gala dripping in diamond s that could feed an entire village in Venezuela for a year! It's pathetic. Most of the time their Publicists are getting far more money out of these celebrities than the charities are.
My husband just reminded me that Depp was awarded the "Courage to Care" award by Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. He also just told me that Depp has a standing annual donation of 1 million a year to the Children Hospital in London. I didn't know about that last one, put that's so rad!
He did a Make a wish for a child who's parents got married he wanted JD to be his dad's best man.
