Johnny Depp expert: Amber Heard showed 'extreme defensiveness,' exaggerated PTSD symptoms

  • Dr. Shannon Curry, a psychologist hired by Johnny Depp's legal team in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, returned to the stand during the rebuttal case. Curry told jurors that testing on Heard showed that she tried to minimize her mental health issues, showed "extreme defensiveness" in answering certain questions and scored so high on other tests that you have to eliminate the result altogether because it suggests feigning, or exaggerating, symptoms.

      This comment is so underrated!! I too absolutely loved how she highlighted how hard it can be to suffer with PTSD. You’re not like Heard, posting work out videos on her Instagram, becoming a mother.. she’s delusional & seeking attention in the worst way. PTSD is crippling, coming from my experience with it 💔

      @@PaigeAshliegh Eh, while I agree woth the assesment that Heard was likely faking it, a lot of people with PTSD become mothers and display a seemingly perfect life in social media.
      PTSD doesn't always manifest in introverted behavior- sometimes it can manifest in attention seeking as well. And, well... Anyone can be a parent. It's important to remember there are many forms of trauma and many ways this trauma can manifest in people with PTSD.
      There are no "right" or "wrong" ways your trauma can manifest.

      As someone diagnosed with ptsd and with family members that do have it I can agree with both replies. Ptsd is so debilitating and some days it’s just hard to live. I react with staying in my room and locking myself away from the world. Someone else I know, who is also a mother suffering with ptsd can go out more freely. Post photos online being happy with family, yet still suffering when the symptoms get bad. Everyone reacts differently and there’s different types of ptsd. It all depends on the person. But it’s because of the knowledge I have in it that helps me see this woman is a fraud(Amber Heard). Yeah everyone has some form of trauma but THIS ain’t it

    • @CynCB
      @CynCB 2 роки тому +4

      @@geno9456 completely agree, We also have to remember that a PTSD diagnosis can be a stand alone diagnosis or it can come paired with several other diagnosis that have resulted from said trauma & that can definitely impact a person's life and behavior ( I am diagnosed Severe PTSD, Severe Anxiety Disorder & Mild/Moderate Agoraphobia ) Also it should be noted that 2 people can go through very similar trauma and one might develop PTSD & the other might not 🤷Everyone responds different to trauma but yes typically it does severely impact one's life & functioning

    • @Hidakaku56
      @Hidakaku56 Рік тому +1

      @@sashatoso3175 the thing is, with how much ptsd heard claimed she had (just from the way she answered the questions which would indicated extremely severe ptsd, not just a mild/moderate case of ptsd) there wouldn’t be the degree of social functioning that she has shown.
      Yes there are fairly high functioning people with ptsd but most with the level of ptsd that heard endorsed would not have such a high level of functioning.

I know first hand how they are cause I know I was telling the truth and they said I was fine and whatever problem I had was not related to the accident how disgusting of them after they denied the medical error now they denied the severity of the head trauma I wasn’t going to let them of the hook this time no way but many time I just wanted to dye the betrayal is so intense and it’s much worst when your in pain and out of energy. I hope Amber finds a kind boyfriend not an abuser like her father and JD He’s lying 💯 What’s wrong with old man going with young beautiful girls absolutely disgusting poor Amber probably wishing for the father she never had. I feel her pain my father too was a no good piece of crap saw the inside of a school at 17 for the first time after we escaped but the worst is loosing all my animals he killed then all I still can’t get over the anger and the pain and my ex was exactly the JD abuse type of guy possessive jealous controlling force himself on you cause he’s in love with your beauty. I think it has a lot to do with her being a practitioner psychologist. I reckon she would have to explain her findings and analysis to her clients on a regular basis. Her clients most likely are not familiar with psychology terms, therefore she has to find a way to explain it so she can be understood by the average people. Hence why we keyboard warriors of UA-cam and the jury can have a grasp of what she was saying.
      Whereas a lot of professors are pure academics or haven't been a practitioner in a long time. They explain it with the mindset that their audiences are top academics as well. As a result they don't communicate their ideas using terms and languages that the average people could understand.

      HERE, YOUR HONOR! Simply compare Amber to THIS!
      'But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God- having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.'
      (2 Timothy 3:1‭-‬5 NIV)
      You CAN'T go wrong when you SIMPLY use God's Word into the equation, 'cause it's EASY to diagnose people by matching them up with the symptoms.
      COURT ADJOURNED! The results are IN! Amber's off her rocker and has LIED, 'cause she couldn't convince Johnny to stick around and help her with her career, so she threw her tantrum, fabricated a cold blooded abuse case, took it to the media to PUNISH Johnny for NOT putting up with her nonsense so Johnny was RIGHT for ejecting from that doomed jet! The only PROBLEM, is he SHOULD'VE ejected BEFORE she got wind that he was done with her. He should've SECRETLY went and filed his divorce paperwork BEFORE she had the chance to lay her trap and rig the room with false evidence and blame Johnny for it all. Johnny should've hired forensics to gather prints on everything, but could've secretly wiped everything down before leaving without her knowing, then there'd be NO prints of Johnny's on the evidence of busted bed, written on bathroom mirror, etc, etc, etc. He should've called 'The Wolf' over from 'Pulp Fiction' to clean up everything for him while Amber was out with her friends. 😁👍

    Notice how Amber is looking down, writing, using avoidance tactics...she can't bear to hear that she has any faults. True narcissistic behavior. This case is important on multiple levels for others to see how mental illness affects so many of us from childhood abuse and when untreated turns children into monstrous adults. Though I'm team Johnny all the way, I still have compassion for Amber. She clearly needs very serious help. I'm also very concerned that she is a parent...in my humble opinion, this woman should not be a mother until she knows how to care for herself. On a lighter note? This doctor is KILLING IT!!

The self-report and checklist style diagnosis can be very appropriate tools for treatment-based needs where trust in the client and open dialogue comes as a priority before skepticism, and that’s wonderful, but so inappropriate for forensic evidence. Great how she explained that there are tests specifically designed with the risk of dishonesty in mind, which dr curry used, and how self report tests are so exploitable in a legal setting and actually arms a malingering risk client with all the info and nuance needed to mimic the disorder more affectively

    This lady, Dr Curry, knows her onions.
    She'll definitely make a good professor. See how she breaks down her analysis, coherent, straight to the point.
    No rigmaroling or trying to twist words.
    Her impression of AH, was on point.
    Even a nonmedical person understands her explanation. When u see this, you'll know she's giving an unbiased review of AH.
    While Dr Hughes and the latest male psychiatrist were clearly biased towards JD

    WOW that's embarrassing. So basically Amber lied so bad on the test by exaggerating her symptoms that it was obvious to the psychologist that she's trying desperately to get a PTSD diagnosis. Yikes. Another score for team Depp. Just give it up already, Amber.

    There is just no coming back from this. As a nurse, Dr. Curry dotted all her I's and crossed all her T's. She did everything by the Standard of Care. This just demolished AH.

      JD's team has a lot of time left to produce more of these types. Kate Moss only took 3-4 minutes, the guy yesterday was concise and trustable... all of AHs witnesses seem flawed in at least one way each and combatitive and seem like they are part of AH's legal team with how defensive they are of AH and offensive they are to JD....
      AH has has condemned herself.
