- Here is a review of the Rugged Mountain Dad's Backpack: The Teton Sports Explorer 4000. A great entry level pack for the person not sure if they want to get into backpacking!
This 65L pack is heavy at 5 lbs but it is rugged and well made with tons of features. It has been a great pack so far.... with a few exceptions. Check out the review to find out more.
If you'd like to support the channel in a VERY generous way, these are some items we are looking at for future adventures.

Thanks for the review! I will be getting this pack for future scout outings.
Nice!! Thanks for watching and letting me know!! I sincerely hope it works out for you as much as it has for me!!
each shoulder strap has a strap at its top to pull pack closer to shoulders(as needed); the two inner straps attached to hip pad are used to pull pack closer to hips/waist(as needed)
Thanks for video
Ya i believe the top ones are called "load lifters" I'm not sure that the bottom ones have a name... "load snuggers"?? Thanks for watching and commenting! Truly appreciate it!!
Loved the review. I run a 65l deuter bag that comes in at 5lbs and my current base weight is 19lbs. Who says you can’t have lightweight on a budget lol. Great video sir!
Haha nice! Thats right around what I run MINUS camera gear for vlogging! Besides... "lightweight" is a relative term right?? Thanks for being a true "Faithful Few" and not only watching but commenting too. We appreciate it!! :-)
That’s true it is a relative term lol. I didn’t include my camera equipment in my base weight because I don’t always take it thanks to the camera on the new iPhones being decent.
Well, it looks like it works beautifully for you!
Indeed it does. Id like to upgrade to a lighter one eventually!
I purchased this pack due to your review. I am a water bladder user. For the life of me I can’t figure out how to route the tube. Any ideas on how to route it?
Just to be sure i just did it with mine. There is a hole directly underneath the red velcro strips (which act as the hanger for the bag.) I routed the tube through that and the onto the shoulder strap securing it with the elastic band. If you have instagram, message me at DMS Adventures and i can send you a pic of short video tomorrow.
What is the barrel bolt for
Haha THAT, is something I rigged up to be able to hang my phone gimbal and tripod off of so I can have my hands free while hiking. I just used it a bunch today! It was cheap and it works.
