Thanks!!!
That sounds perfect. Im sure that's how he played it. He was punk rock. He was efficient. The whole song just sounds smooth the entire way through.
Bradley was a great singer-songwriter that had a heart-breakingly beautiful voice and was a tasty little guitar player too. So many great riffs and solos in their music. Eric Wilson is a MONSTER on the bass and Bud hits like a truck. The last Great Band of the 20th Century. (R.I.P. Bradley & Lou Dog)
This was the first song I ever heard from them and is still a favourite of mine to play, so much fun and a great song to jam on as well. Definitely one of Brad Nowell’s best riffs, he was a great guitarist and it’s a shame he doesn’t get enough recognition
The Santeria solo was actually one of the first solos I ever learned when I started playing guitar when I was younger, and I still use it to warm up sometimes because for some reason playing stuff I learned when I was really young really gets me in the zone and is always a good warm-up for me
Was just working on this solo yesterday. That hammer-on part up all the strings is quite tricky
For you, Brad, and me. Something crazy about it.
Love your show Mike. Keep shredding
I learned this song from a GW magazine in the late 90's. I play the (B) chord at the 2nd and 4 fret with the open (A) shape. I never even considered playing the (B) ath the 7th fret.
Love this song and great lesson!! I always been strumming the whole chord so this is a huge game changer for sure 🤙🏼
Bradley was so great. Underrated player
Love that guitar!
You should cover more from their second and third album! All of them have such great guitar playing that nobody talks about.
Also like, alot of ska bands have amazing guitar playing nobody talks about
This brings me back. When I first started playing guitar, Sublime was one of the first bands whose songs I tried to get down. This video makes me wanna play this now 😊
another great video
looking forward to the verse sections, for some reason I struggle with it a lot!
This is so good! I’ve learnt this for a cover band and you’re right even tho I was close there is some detail! Try rake of the chord after the first note! Thanks Mike
Damn my college band played A LOT of Sublime and I doubt I ever picked the same pattern twice on this song. A crowd favorite to this day.
Glad to see it make a return. Fun solo as well.
It would be awesome to see someone like you talking about their song "Ebin". I don't know if Brad wrote the guitar part or not, but they have some great parts.
More sublime lessons please!
This lesson was Sublime!
🙏❤️ Live from Scotland ❤️🙏
Is that a TV White Junior? or is it the lighting washing out the yellow???
It's pretty yellowish so it's probably the lighting. I was gonna have it painted white but now I'm liking the darker tone.
It looks particularly white in the close-up and I know that mine can look quite washed out in particular lighting circumstances, but not to that degree. The white ones seem to be quite rare in both original and reissue form, with the vast majority being either cherry or yellow. What does it say under your Les Paul silkscreen...it looks like one word, but the TV Yellow ones normally say "TV MODEL"@@TheArtofGuitar
I wish you guitar content creators showing how to play anything ... would always start with the actual whole thing in the beginning of the lesson , not at the end 😎👍
It's this level of detail that's the reason why I subbed. Among other reasons also😁
I had the strong urge to start singing at the end of your lesson. "I don't practice Santeria,"
10th!
Well I got some diarrhea
Cuz I ate some Taco Bell.
I lit a couple matches but still...
That bathroom smells.
Yeah, that's not happening, with my inabilty to not hit chords right (my fingers hit strings they aren't suppose to), my Carpel Tunnel/Arthitis issue (causes me to do songs in sections and then edit them together), there's a reason my album series is called Bad Acoustic Covers. I try to remain simple but still close to the orignal. As for this song...ua-cam.com/video/amdxuA5fjBc/v-deo.htmlsi=H_eeWi-vFsAQoX0w
I'd love to learn this song, but I don't practice Santeria. 🤷♂️
I can't play the chorus nuances to save my life. He plays a distinctly different rhythmic phrase for each part
You play Sublime??? That's sublime in my opinion!
I covered their Bob Marley cover "Smoke two joints" (ua-cam.com/video/I-xdQyHSegg/v-deo.html ) and "Santeria" back in the days.
Poor guy took all of his money and gave it to Charity. Charity was his dealer, btw.
I know I'm in the minority but boy I hate sublime so much. Nice playing though.
Same, but that intro was a nice riff
lame. Sublimes good if you arent old.
Welcome to think that, but that is a red flag as to whether you're chill or not
Hahhhh me too. I like Santeria though
@@gupster24I thought it was the other way around. Sublime is cool if you're old
Is "Sancho" the guy that your girlfriend is seeing while you're in prison? Or is "Sancho" just a burrito-esque dish? I'm lost here.
Sancho is the guy your girl is cheating with, in prison or not. He's the side piece
