I love watching your family. It was nice of the company to send you a dehydrator. Hope you are still enjoying it. We bought one to make wraps made out of fruits and veggies. We were having difficulty getting the wraps to release, so we purchased a few silicone trays. They helped a lot.
Hi Jeremy and co! I am unexpectantly off work today so was so happy to watch this video to give me some great new ideas. Am making the chia jam , and the muffins, and the granola bars and maybe even the apple crumble if I have enough time. If not , definately another day! Thanks for such great content! 🙂 Anna from London, England.
Thank you for a yummy recipe. I just made the granola bars with a few changes. I used half a cup of dates and 2 fresh figs. October in Portugal brings fresh dates. I also added 1/8 t nutmeg and 1/4 C hemp seeds. The granola bars were delicious. My darling hubby loved them. Thank you.

Hi! I'm quite new to the Channel; I'm Tanja from Heidelberg (Germany). Your weight loss journey inspires me. I'm obese and have to lose about 40 kg (ca. 90 lbs) to be in a healthy weight range. I already lost 4 kg (9 lbs) by switching my diet to much more vegetables, whole grains and legumes! And I don't feel like starving all the times. At the moment, while I'm watching your video, I'm making some vegan fat free pancakes with aquafaba and whole wheat flour. :-) I use them for sweet and savory meals, either with loads of veggies for dinner or for breakfast with fruit, a bit of peanut butter, maple sirup...
Hey Tanja! Sounds like you're doing great so far! I love that you're still eating food that you find enjoyable and not scared of having some nut butter, maple syrup, etc... that's the real trick, enjoy the food in a healthier way as opposed to eliminating things. That's the path to a REAL lasting change and you're on the right path!!! Keep in touch with all you've got going :)
Great video as usual, will definitely be trying those muffins. How about showing how you make your kombucha, it was great the video you did with the kombucha making company but it would be good to see how you make it at home.
For the Chia Jam recipe, I would recommend you let the mixture cool before adding in the chia seeds, so that they won’t lose their heat-sensitive nutrients :)
Hi Jeremy! Thank you for this delicious video, you surely put a lot of work in all these recipes 🙂 I will definitely make the muffins and the granola bars. Thank you for the apple crumble recipe as well. And here's a little tip: If you turn your nut milk bag inside-out before you use it, you can clean it much easier after using it 😉Sending you and your family love from Germany.
My pleasure! I often do this trick as well with the nut milk bag, but sometimes forget :) Thanks for the love from Germany, right back at you from Canada!
Hi Jeremy! Love the idea of using a egg slicer for the bananas! My banana chips always take a long time in my dehydrator, but so worth the wait! Thank you for another fun, informative video 😊
Love the idea of using a nut butter for the crumble on top of the apples! I've never had success replicating the banana chips of my childhood. I'm beginning to think they were deep fried (and soaked in sugar).
Please check your ingredients list for this recipe. You have listed one small Russet potato. In the video you are clearly adding more than that. Thank you for the wonderful videos!
Actually I was making a double or triple batch here - sorry if that wasn't clear in the video - it might have gotten edited out from the bigger video that it was originally part of.
that dehydrator sounds like an excellent thing for kale chips. I'd make more but they're so inconsistent in the oven and I need to watch them like a hawk! Oh and since I'm not at all a fan of dried cranberries, I tend to use dried blueberries instead. That would sure be good in your recipe for granola bars. A couple of my staples are homemade granola (to top on our smoothies); some form of hummus (I make it different all the time, even using more than 1 type of bean); some sort of grain, bean, or legume for the week made in my instant pot; and I always wash and cut up my vegetables from the market each Saturday so they're always ready as a snack -- or to cook with. Cheers!
Lots of great ideas, so thanks! Two reasons I've avoided dehydrating food are the huge amount of electricity and time needed. Seems super inefficient to me. I'm a low-tech type on a budget, so think I'll stick with the oven-based options. Thank you for a great variety of snacks and classics!
Totally understand this stance - though from the research I've done the dehydrator uses a fraction of the energy of a stove. 12hrs of my dehydrator is less energy than my stove on for 1hr. And as for time, it's really just something that can be done in the background, so neither of those things feel like much of a burden for me. But if you're finding success in your oven that's awesome! Still lots of snacks here to try :) Thanks for writing!
Hi Jeremy. Great video. I made your muffin recipe this morning and it’s delicious. I used apples and walnuts. I never thought of cooling them upside down. 🤔. Thanks for the tip, it worked. Next time I’ll try your suggestion to use pumpkin purée and will use pumpkin pie spice. Now onto the Apple Crisp! I have app,es to use up. 🤗

Thank you! I'm getting asked A LOT about a cookbook so I'm going to start looking into it :) As for the aquafaba - when I boiled it down I left it on a bit too long so I could have watered it down a bit and thinned it out - but it works like this too :)
That’s exactly how I “measure” my fruit for my crisps!!! I’m not alone!!! 😅😁 (Just recently discovered you, fellow Canadians! I’m in Coquitlam, BC, a suburb of Vancouver.)
The muffins look good. I'm always looking for healthy things for my 3 year old. Somehow, he got into the habit of having a bear claw cookie, chocolate chips and vitamins for breakfast. It always fun to try to get him to eat something else.
They'll love this - and they're old enough to help make it! Let them pick the fruit and the mix-ins and help stir and plop them into the pans. When my kids were little they were always up for eating stuff if they helped to make it.
Older, computer challenged here. If I can’t do it on my iPhone…oh well, I’ll need advice. So I watch you on Utube. I’ve lost 19 lbs so far. Want to lose 50-60 more. Thanks for asking! I have a small TV series here in Canada that I'm not able to put clips from onto the channel, so for those videos I have an actual crew I'm shooting on, and higher end cameras, etc... the rest of the stuff is what I make on my own, so more of a homemade quality. And in videos like this they often blend together :)
I am loving your videos very much. I have a lot of Potato Starch and wonder if I can sub in recipes that call for Tapioca Starch. My instinct is that it would be fine, what do you think? Thanks.
When thickening a sauce you can substitute potato starch for tapioca flour 1:1. However, if a you're baking, potato starch may not work as well. It has a heavier consistency than tapioca flour, which can make baked goods feel denser.
Hi Jeremy, I think I'm going to buy a dehydrator as the apple leather and kale chips look delicious, by the way, how do you store the cheese sauce? Can you freeze it please and thankyou for the cool video, from Dee in kent, uk
@@pbwithjeremy yes that is amazing it has so many uses so I can grate it from frozen over pasta and spread it over my favourite biscuits too! Yes I need to make it now :) thanks!
Wait, so you don't use a seal at all for your soy yogurt? It's the reason i got an instant pot, but mine always goes sour. I even bought brand new seals. I tried probably a dozen times and gave up 😢
Don't throw away your soy-yogurt-whey! It has nutriens. You can use it as water for cooking ore watering pot-/ garden-flowers ore whash your skin/ bathing.
Hey Jeremy, I need muffin advice. I tried your recipe with peaches and frozen banana slices, in a silicone pan. I let rest in the pan 10-15 minutes before trying to remove to cool further on a rack. As with every WFPB muffin recipe I try, the muffins are too wet on the bottom, kind of gummy, and about ¼ of the muffin ends up stuck in the pan. Delicious though! Any suggestions? Maybe peaches + frozen banana slices were too wet? Maybe cool even longer in the pan? This happens to me a lot and with other WFPB recipes, too, so I think it’s my technique/skill not the recipe. 🤷🏼
Hey Alison! So a few things: first if you're using frozen fruit you've got to let it thaw first and remove the extra liquid from them as best you can. If you mix them in still frozen you're going to end up with way more wet in your baking and it'll end up like you said. I tend to leave muffins in the pan for about 20-30 minutes and then if they're still a little soft I'll rest them on a baking rack upside down and let them air cool and firm up there. Hope that helps!! Let me know!
Hi.. just a friendly thought.. is it possible the temperature calibration is not correct in your oven? Maybe add a hanging oven thermometer to the inside of your oven. Check/compare the temp of that thermometer to the setting on the stove when you bake. Adjust if needed. 😊
That could help too - but for sure if you put a frozen fruit inside of a muffin it's not going to cook evenly inside of the muffin because of the temperature difference of the frozen fruit - it'll take longer for them to come up to temperature - along with the area around it - so that's likely contributing to your muffin challenges.
Most of these issues are resolved for me with non-stick cupcake tins. Sometimes even with non-WFPB recipes I’d get a mushy uncooked bottom like all the liquid had sunk to the bottom and congealed!

QUESTION: For the Chia Jam, when I go to the recipe link in the description, select PRINT, and then instead of printing I save it to a PDF, the PDF is mostly blank pages. Why would that be? I've done the same thing with a couple of other recipes and it all worked fine . . . well, so far anyway.
Well . . . I tried it by first doing a search on your website and then the same steps, and the worked fine. Seems like it must be some kind of conflict with using the link in the description. Or maybe some incompatibility issue - I use a MacBook with Safari. Anyway, I'm happy to say I did resolved my issue. By the way, I just love your channel and your recipes and especially all the honest recipe reviews!

My pleasure! I often do this trick as well with the nut milk bag, but sometimes forget :) Thanks for the love from Germany, right back at you from Canada!
Feed me Seymour” 🤣🙌
Yaaassss - was waiting for someone to pick up on that :) You're my new favorite :)
I love your videos! You and your family are "so real!" 😊
Thank you!
Would love to have an updated banana chip recipe! 😁
Thanks for being a man of tour word I asked and you delivered great video
Any time!
I would put those dehydrated cinnamon apple peels in my granola for sure!
Great idea!!!!!!!
Hi Jeremy! Love the idea of using a egg slicer for the bananas! My banana chips always take a long time in my dehydrator, but so worth the wait! Thank you for another fun, informative video 😊
What do you do for your banana slices???
Loving your videos! Are you going to review the Forks over Knives Fall edition? Please 😊
Sadly I think it's a bit late for that now - but I'll try to do the winter one!
Love the idea of using a nut butter for the crumble on top of the apples! I've never had success replicating the banana chips of my childhood. I'm beginning to think they were deep fried (and soaked in sugar).
I think you're right, sadly.... but I'm going to keep at it and see what I can do! :)
They were
Please check your ingredients list for this recipe. You have listed one small Russet potato. In the video you are clearly adding more than that. Thank you for the wonderful videos!
Actually I was making a double or triple batch here - sorry if that wasn't clear in the video - it might have gotten edited out from the bigger video that it was originally part of.
Such great ideas. I'm so inspired! Thanks so much.
Oh lovely - thanks for telling me - that made my day!
that dehydrator sounds like an excellent thing for kale chips. Cheers!
Thanks for all of this! The kale chips were the best I ever had - the oven version ones are never good. Thanks for the tips on the dried fruit!!!
From your inspiration I just made apple cinnamon Scoby fruit leather!! So yummy!
Nice!!! So glad you like it!
Thank you, I will definitely try the muesli bars and the nacho cheese. Not together though 😂
I bet they'd still taste awesome ;-)
Oh so glad this worked out - those sound great!
And you're welcome for the tip!
How did the crumble turn out????
@@pbwithjeremy
The crumble was a hit too! 😋. Thanks for the recipe Woolie. (Not sure if I spelled correctly)
BTW, great interview with Chef AJ. It was interesting to learn more about you, your career, weight loss story and background.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the interview. And so glad the crumble was a hit. And yes - you nailed the spelling of Woolie :) Or at least how I would spell it :) @@Marilyn7733
Hi from Washington state! When is the PBwJ cookbook coming out? You're the best Jeremy!
Question: why is your aquafaba so thick?
Thank you! I'm getting asked A LOT about a cookbook so I'm going to start looking into it :) As for the aquafaba - when I boiled it down I left it on a bit too long so I could have watered it down a bit and thinned it out - but it works like this too :)
Great video, as usual on your channel! I am going to try the fruit crumble--so easy but looks so tasty for breakfast. Thanks from Nan in NYC.
Thanks Nan! Let us know what you think of the crumble!
That’s exactly how I “measure” my fruit for my crisps!!! I’m not alone!!! 😅😁 (Just recently discovered you, fellow Canadians! I’m in Coquitlam, BC, a suburb of Vancouver.)
Hi Susan! Glad you and Woolie use the same measuring cups! Hello from Toronto!
I’m an old RN and monitoring my glucose. Technically pre Diabetic, but may have crossed over. You’ve been a part of my new program. Cuz I’m aiming for healthy lipid panel results as well as glucose. I aim to enter my 70s with health. AND AVOID the modern epidemic of the aged, senile dementia. And you sir will be a part of that.CUZ that’s going to take lifestyle changes. And I’ve already been in over 2 months now. But here’s the bottom line: this lifestyle MUST be enjoyable. Aka, FUN. Since I’ve got under 30 years left du to the mortal part of the life cycle, and I’ve yet to ride a raft down the Colorado River.
😊😊😊😊😊
I LOVE THIS.
YOu rock - congrats on that 19 pounds!!!
So happy that we can be part of your journey! Let me know if there's any content that we can make that would be helpful for you.
100% Agree - it HAS to be enjoyable - and it totally can! Good for you for taking your health into your hands at your age. Huge respect!
@@pbwithjeremy Appreciate that, thank you.
I have gone gluten free last year. Only regret i did not do this earlier
Hi There, I am Susan from Long Beach, CA. I would Love for you to make some comfort fall casseroles.
Hey Susan! I've got a new cookbook review recipe I'm shooting now that has a bunch of casseroles - so hopefully that'll help!
Hi, I really enjoyed your video!! I’m going to try your jam it looked delicious 😊
I wonder if the bananas would work better in a Freeze Dryer? I bought some freeze dried mangos from Trader Joes and the texture was light, airy and crunchy. They were really good! I know the freeze dryers are very expensive but worth it if you’re going to use it as a way to store food. Have a wonderful day!!
Thanks for the tip - I've never used a freeze dryer but maybe a company will want to have us use one some time :)
Yes, that would be really nice!! 😊
Hey Jeremy! We are Tim and Lori from OHIO. We are new subscribers and stumbled onto your channel and really love it!
Have you heard of Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero's book, Vegan Cookies, Invad Your Cookie Jar? I'd love to see you do a review of it.
Keep doing you! Shout out to your family as well! ❤
I'll add to the list - but our library system is down till January - it was hacked - so I'm going to be doing books from home for a bit before getting back to the LONG list you've all sent me. And sorry for the delay in writing you!!
Hi Char from Delaware. Can’t wait to make the granola bars. Kinda new follower. Wondering why filming in different kitchens?
Yup - our family farm - but I think Char is asking more about the shooting style :)
Thanks for asking! I have a small TV series here in Canada that I'm not able to put clips from onto the channel, so for those videos I have an actual crew I'm shooting on, and higher end cameras, etc... the rest of the stuff is what I make on my own, so more of a homemade quality. And in videos like this they often blend together :)
where to get the tapioca flour for cheese sauce and recommend your blender? thanks!!
I use a Vita-Mix - and you can find tapioca flour in most well stocked groceries stores - but in bulk stores for sure. Otherwise here: amzn.to/46sOwev
Throw some cranberries in there sometime. Yum!
Into which thing??
Oh sorry! That would be helpful!😂 The apple crumble. That looked so good! Gotta try it!
Hahaha - thanks - and great idea!
Have you tried dehydrating yogurt? And if so, does it taste like chewy sweets?
I haven't but I looked it up - it makes kind of like a leather apparently
Love your channel Jeremy. Please share each of our family members BIRTHDAYS MEAL request. That would be fun💕
Honestly - we tend to go out on birthday or order in... BUT maybe this can inspire something... thank for the idea!
Can I blend this. I prefer smooth jam! Would I just let it cool and blend or do you have a different tip? Thank you!
For sure - if you've got an immersion blender I would use that - or a small hand blender like a magic bullet, etc.... Thanks!
Thank you!
Hi Jeremy, I think I'm going to buy a dehydrator as the apple leather and kale chips look delicious, by the way, how do you store the cheese sauce? Can you freeze it please and thankyou for the cool video, from Dee in kent, uk
Thanks Dee! When you put it in the fridge the cheese sauce turns into a spread and when you freeze it it's grateable! Amazing, right???
@@pbwithjeremy yes that is amazing it has so many uses so I can grate it from frozen over pasta and spread it over my favourite biscuits too! Yes I need to make it now :) thanks!
you're welcome!
If you don’t do butter can you use applesauce or aquafaba? For the crumble?
Absolutely! That's what we do
Does your dehydrator come with teflex sheets? I bought some for mine and nothing sticks to it. They’re great. Highly recommend.
I don't know if it's teflex, never heard of that, but it's some kind of non-stick sheet....
That dehydrator looks awesome. Sadly can’t justify cost right now. 😢 Have a plastic Nesco one.
Yeah - that's what I had too. But totally understand the financial challenge!
Wait, so you don't use a seal at all for your soy yogurt? It's the reason i got an instant pot, but mine always goes sour. I even bought brand new seals. I tried probably a dozen times and gave up 😢
Nope! Take that seal off and try again!
@@pbwithjeremy cool, I will!
Don't throw away your soy-yogurt-whey! It has nutriens. You can use it as water for cooking ore watering pot-/ garden-flowers ore whash your skin/ bathing.
How long does the jam last in the fridge before it goes bad?
At least a week or so. We usually split our batch into two small jars and freeze one.
@@pbwithjeremy ah .... smart.
you don't want that gold to go bad!

How long does the jam keep in the fridge? X
We often put it in two jars and freeze one. It’ll be good for at least a week. It’s usually gone before it has a chance to go bad in our house :)
Thank you
Please do share how you grow your apples!!! I had a lot of apples on my brand new trees but some worn/fly/bug got in and destroyed 95%!!
Honestly - SHEER LUCK! We've never had a yield like this - we normally have your problem!
@pbwithjeremy 🫨🫨🫨 Well congratulations!!
Thx!!!!
Now I have to grow an apple tree. 🍎
Ha - luckily ours was already there - we've tried to start some new fruit trees with a lack of success (so far)
Try lime juice on the banana chips :)
YUM - and then sprinkle them with coconut!!!! 🔥

Good morning!
Add blueberries or cranberries to you apples and it’s delicious!

Glad you figured it out - sorry it was a pain for a second there :(
Glad you enjoyed the jam so much :)
I am fairly new to your utube channel. I live in Burbank, California. Like your recipes but am not a good cook. Most things dont come out good that i try. Sonia Parker

Same. I'll just be over here waiting....
I think the banana chips you're remembering from your childhood were flash-fried and sugar-glazed... at least that's how most mass-market banana chips are made.
I think you're right :(
