What alternate arts or boxes are you waiting on buying ?
Most wont expect the sword and shield reprint. Around this time during the sword and shield block they reprinted cosmic eclipse, ultra prizm, hidden fates, unified minds and unbroken bonds. Most wont expect it if pokemon decides to turn the printers on
Right and I’m not saying it’s going to happen but I hope it does and I’d like to see another chance to absorb some product I missed out on during my other collection goals. We’ll see, maybe things keep rising naturally 🤷🏻♀️

For those having a whinge about everyone hoarding SWSH boxes, let's just see where ES boxes end up in 3 to 5 years from now. I'm confident to say they'll be much more than $700 usd. Demand > supply.
I believe the same just because the supply is continuously dropping BUT reprints can still happen technically. People don’t understand how much that could throw a wrench in the secondary markets. Now will they is the big question? If not prices will continue to probably climb even after a slight drop or retrace. I still believe there’s a chance as some final good deals before things move up more. 😎🙏🏼
@@orionsires agreed. Although I'd be damn surprised if they were to reprint ES booster boxes as that set is almost 3 years old come August.😅🤷♂️
PC ETBs are the way to go.
No reprints. Limited availability. Exclusive promo cards.
They have everything going for them.
Even when booster boxes are reprinted the PC ETBs are not.
They were in Sw/Sh though but I’m talking about S&V.
For sure I’ve been missing out on the PC etb drops but they are certainly great to buy whether it’s for collecting or investing my thing is storage is an issue so cases/booster boxes give the most for the space. But I have some crown zenith PC etb’s 😎🙏🏼
@@orionsires Yeah the storage thing is the biggest problem that’s why I only buy 2 of each lol.

Kinda crazy though that since PC Crown Zenith ETBs we haven’t seen any reprints of PC ETBs of any set and all of the S&V ones are sold out.
Plus they don’t sell them in bulk to wholesalers like normal ETBs.
Only problem with PC etbs is they sell SLOWWWW because they are so expensive, usually 2x the price of regular etbs. I’m talking like 2-3 sales a MONTH on TCG player. Normal etbs are way more liquid.

That’s all you really need honestly the base set unlimited and base set 2 are both just as iconic just different slightly and higher print but who cares. My first zard was a creased base set 2 zard and I loved that thing. Got me back into the hobby basically just looking at one. 😎🙏🏼

Yeah I think we all noticed that, but hey it’s fair game content wise. I do think all the swsh sets will perform at this point they’ve proven themselves but now it’s a question of whats the lowest price from here going to be for these sets? Right now it’s cooling down and that won’t last forever. 🤷🏻♀️
Graded cards have a HUGE risk that people don’t think about.
But which coin collectors learned long ago.
Which is that if PSA loses its reputability suddenly a PSA 10 is worth the same as a raw card.
That’s what happened with ANACS in coin collecting.
People used to trust them.
Then they graded a lot of fakes they didn’t recognize as fakes.
Now people pay more for raw coins than one in an ANACS slab.
This is why they’ve said since 1985: “Buy the coin not the slab.”

@@jyhluk Personally I find PSA 8 cards to be the best value in terms of collecting cards.
They may not be totally pristine and perfectly centered but a tiny bit of whitening on a corner on the back of a card doesn’t bother me so much.
True but psa has a good track record in my opinion of strong cards in 9/10 and I hope that doesn’t become the case but it’s possible. Highly doubt it but I won’t fully discount what you’re saying. I understand the risks and still chose psa slabs over raw cards now this is only because at a certain point the grade matters to me to secure and insure the value but for modern I just use my binders 😎
@@orionsires Oh yeah for sure I wasn’t bashing on graded cards I’m just saying that it is indeed a risk that should be considered.
However if one has considered the risk that’s cool too I just don’t want people to be unaware of such lesser known risks.
Not sure if you know this but (according to Eli from PokeMartUSA) apparently some distributors are getting small LO BBs for sale to LGS’s for $175. Some brilliant stars as well. Could just be leftover product in warehouses here and there.
I have heard people saying that but it means more knowing pokemart stated there’s still product being distributed that’s maybe the reason for price drops but I think people are just moving on. I’d like to see swsh boxes drop just a little bit more 😎🙏🏼

Natural variations or not, there should be a small window where price falls below previous highs and allows some deals to be had and that’s what I’m hoping for. If not no worries but something to think about 🤷🏻♀️

I didn’t understand why one would spend any money on boxes when the pull rates were so bad. So I bought singles like alt arts. This is arguably more cost effective and I did buy many boxes at cheaper prices but if you follow my channel you can see that I’m spending 90% of my money spent in the hobby on theme decks, vintage binder building and grail cards. So recently I decided to pivot and direct more funds to buying sealed box cases. I always believed in these sets. Always. But at the time none of us truly knew how it was going to perform. At collect a con everyone had boxes and alt arts so they felt even less important. I had to make a choice did I want my dream collection or a bunch of sealed boxes? I chose my dream collection. Still got a decent position of boxes roughly 250-300 booster boxes and will continue adding. I could have gone way heavier into box investing but I would have been miserable as a collector. Additionally I’d rather buy boxes when they are moving already than buy them and sit still for several years. Evolving skies is the only box I will say I knew was going to work out in the future and even that set I didn’t buy enough of because the risk of Pokémon dying off again was too great. That’s the truth. So instead of buying over printed boxes I chose very rare sought after vintage cards. Gold stars, shinings, crystals and 1st edition base set cards. Hope that answers your questions. 😎🙏🏼
In a nutshell Batman is correct it’s easier to ride the wave than it is to create it and sit on product for months/years it gets old quickly
@orionsires that's actually a very good point. It is more important to understand why someone is in the hobby: collecting, playing tcg, or business. There is some merit in knowing what you want and sticking to it.
Everyone and their mom is hoarding SWSH sealed. Dont get me wrong it's the best era ever but also kinda a junk wax era. I sold all my sealed soley based on the facts SWSH is hoarded 1000x more than any other era. Moved my money into ponchos. PSA 10 alts will do well but sealed isnt going to be what everyone thinks.
I think it will perform in the long run but I do agree there’s got to be cut a vast quantity out there that it should fall a bit before rising further. But I think boxes will out perform most cards and it’s very simple, scarcity increase due to attrition box breaks etc it’s stupid but it’s how it works 🤷🏻♀️

I’ve seen this exact same comment regarding Evolutions , Sun & Moon sets etc etc. It’s always the same.
SWSH is the best modern generation by far.
Investors of sealed product unload at different price points , which causes the market to stabilise ( or dip slightly ) momentarily.
Which is why you should only “ invest “ if you’re willing to wait 5-10 years. As trying to analyse & micro manage every market bump will eventually lead you to crashing out.
@@ScottMapex swsh is hoarded wayyyyyyyyyyyy more than any other era. 5-10 years turns into 20 years with the amount of sealed product hiding in everyone’s closets. Heavy bag holders always get mad when I try to tell them
Honestly the pull rates are terrible. Hoarding sealed is not worth it, opening packs is not worth it especially if ya gotta pay over retail. Buy alts from card shops or ebay.
