I've recently passed my class 1 all I need to do now is my mod4 CPC and send off for my tacho, This video has helped me out loads giving me ideas how the trucking life is going to be like.
This is an interesting video, I'm a software developer and I'm considering training as a driver or something like that. The idea of just being on your own all day, going from place to place, appeals to me.

Don't think it's as simple as that. Do a bit of research and you'll realise it's an extremely challenging job both personally and professionally.
Don’t ….long hours work till done shift is shit not all the jobs are as good as they seem unrealistic times for delivery slots 😩
I’d start my day and according to my schedule I was already behind before I’d even left the depot
went the same route. Never looked back. Half the money, double the fun. Plus I lost about 20 pounds, and got in shape.
No stand ups, no scrum ceremonies, no bullpoo.
It's just you, the truck, the road, and the cargo. Get paid for standing in traffic, no stress. The first job might not the so much fun but it gets better.

For future reference it’s a trailer brake not a handbrake and the coupling method you friend taught is referred to as split or close coupling.

I'm 14 thinking abt what I wanna do after school and this video really made me wanna do this if I enjoy driving I'll do this
I was taught by my driving school to couple/uncouple making the extra space on the catwalk. I think it's called 'split coupling'. Sometimes it's the only way if there's not enough room between the trailer head board and unit.

Hi Kev, I found your channel this morning and have been binging. I love you content! I have a question, why do you work for agencies and not a single company? I'm aspiring to start driving HGVs in a few years and was wondering what the pros and cons are of each, and why (or even if) you chose agency work. Thanks!
Simply because I have a main job and tbh this works around my hrs child care and all sorts of other complications, I choose my work and hrs and negotiate for highest rates only 🤫😂
I can’t be the first to say this, but technically, you can’t put the tachograph on break and then do a vehicle check. Vehicle checks are “Other Work” and the way you have filmed it, another little check on the way back to the cab, your break would actually be negated as you were doing other work while your tachograph was recording a break!!

I get £20.72 an hour as my regular wage. Plus £54 a day weekend premium.
That is what I thought, seemed low when he said only £20 a hour for a Saturday so I assumed he was getting X1.5 wage. I can make £21 a hour on a Saturday just in the factory I work. Thought HGV driving would pay far more than that tbh.

That also means that normally the payment is shit
The trouble is when people are getting payed 20 per hour for a Saturday bank holiday rate, no wonder the pay is rubbish , drivers are putting up with poor wages when you are getting young drivers working for this poor money especially SATURDAY BANK HOLIDAY no hope for decent wages .
So i passed my class 1 a couple of weeks ago, quick question....when your picking up a new trailer how do you know how high it is for your in cab marker?
Amazing news well done buddy if you can’t find a sign on the outside of the trailer and or near the trailer airline system Then ask someone in the office or fellow driver

thinking of getting into hgv driving, im 28 years old, how much does it roughly cost these days in total to fully get started? i heard about 2000-3000 is that right? also should i go straight into class 1 or do some class 2 first?

How come you don’t use Waze or google maps instead of Tom Tom ?
You need a trucker satnav that is able to take into account your size, mainly height so it dost try and take you through a road with a low bridge
