Your take on not passing on snowy roads with a left to right wind, to avoid a whiteout for the vehicles you’d pass, makes a lot sense….kudos to you Josh 👍. …..Drive Safe and Don’t Rush!

You don’t know how refreshing it is to hear a truck driver complain about how fast other truck drivers are driving in a snow storm , knowing they can’t see anything. Thank you!

I like your views on driving during the weather and even if it’s bad some people don’t have the common sense to think about other people that are out on the road some people are in a absolute rush to go absolutely nowhere I am from upstate New York and when it’s snowing bad it’s time to pull of the road thank you to each and every truck driver out there you guys are the back bone of our country

Lots of white out driving in upstate NY. Gates closed on 81, "luge run" driving with headlights out and marker lights illuminating so I could see berms . When I did pull lover to sleep, get WAY out of the way from plow trucks, half the time you can't see Anything, especially those plow guys seeing you.

Duluth is one of my favorite places to visit along the North Shore. Like you, I hate driving in snow and windy conditions. Glad you pulled over so you weren't driving in a big winter mess. Getting home safely to Brit, Theo and the fur babies should always be your main concern. Hope you're getting over your cold. Take care and drive safely.

First time watching, I enjoyed it. Safety in this business sometimes slows drivers down, dispatchers don't always allow for weather and the customer is guilty of this too. Not a excuse, just a reality, with that said you will drive a long time, take that from someone who just parked his truck after 49 years and 5 million or so miles . best wishes for a safe and happy life .

    B. I got a flatbed job! I’m going to be training for a month with a buddy of mine to make sure I learn what needs to be learned and so I do the job right! Looking forward to this new adventure!

I'm old and remember driving in northern Michigan through blinding blizzards. We would be ecstatic because we saw a yellow line on the road or a mailbox preferably on the right side of the road and we knew we were still on the road! Now this was done with rear wheel vehicles, no front wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. It could take 12 hours for a six hour trip. Best thing to do is get off the road if you can.

You could dress as one of those orange and white constrction barrels they use to mark construction zone. My hubby and I call them Schneider eggs as they are the same color of Schneider transport trucks. Bright orange. Be careful in that snow. Keep the rubber on the road and that stick under control. Rest well and enjoy your bit of time at home during your reset. I am so happy you got safely to the spot you stopped at for the night. That looked scary.

Recent heavy snow in Wisco. Had to make a 40 mile round pharmacy trip. I'm in a 4x4 Tundra so not too worried. All alone southbound on xway. Northbound closed. Why? Hotshot trucker knifed in the middle ditch. Few miles later hotshot trucker 2, also northbound, in the side ditch, knifed. Lots of four wheelers who shouldn't have been out were sucked off the roads by the ruts. BTW for low visibility try yellow tinted glasses. Honest 35% better vision in rain, snow or fog...not stylish but I will not leave home without them. State cop turned me onto the glasses.

Hey Josh, that’s how you can tell the difference between a steering wheel holder and a professional truck driver, especially a professional truck driver with more than a decade of experience. We know when to stop they do not. Hence why they are the ones do you see jackknifed laid over on their side flip completely over or in the trees?

Nice video, I'm a old trucker, still driving, most of my old driving buddy's are dead or retired, back in the old days we never pulled over because of bad weather no matter how much of a blizzard there was, and I at least always made it thur, so you can imagine what I went thru in my life, we didn't have heated mirrors, most times no power steering because the trucks didn't have it and in below 0 temperature the heat in the truck didn't work, barely, air windshield wipers, air windows, most times a 36" cracker box sleeper. And I never wrecked always made it thur the worst, Lol, I'm still Driving, can't believe what has become of this trucking industry. It's a Joke. Well the pay is Finally much better, Beats Driving for 18 cents a mile.

I had to drive from Rapid City to Sioux Falls today during a snowstorm (wife talked me into a bad situation). It was about 4 hours of almost whiteout condition. Had to stop 3 times to get slush off my window. Passed maybe 6 rigs and about 10 vehicles slid off! Almost slid off myself but got lucky. I know what you mean about the truckers passing, I had that happen a few times. Anyway I loved your video - just wanted to see a trucker’s perspective after being on the road today. And rerouting travel plans or waiting it out is definitely safer, if possible.
