Hi James, I've never seen your videos before but when i watched this one i assumed you had thousands of subscribers because the quality and and structure of the video was so good. Deserve a lot more but keep it up 💪💪💪
Thank you for the awesome comment bud, I do really really appreciate that! I’m glad you think the quality of the videos are good 😎 hope you enjoy future videos and thank you for your support 😊👍
quality video mate, i’m 19 and currently unemployed but after watching this video i’ll be aiming my career towards being a HGV driver. looks like such a laid back and enjoyable career, any advice for the future?
Hello there pal,I would tell you to become a class 2 driver first enjoy that then go for class 1. Even as a glass 2 driver there is so much you can learn and do. I my self plan to do class 2 get my ADR ticket and then look at a career in tanker work starting off on milk or flower. After which I will plan on to push into ADR work like acid or fuel. Once I am transporting fuel this is when I will start to look at class 1. Long term goal is class 1 tanker driving.
I'm a class 1 driver, for tesco um your better of starting with a class 2 and going with an agency for work after.... the oay should be about £15ph with an agency. After you've got a years experience go for class 1.
@lewys9204 I heard you can go from a car licence straight to class 1 now 😂 how is that going? I can't see many firms taking on someone who has went from car to class one. I'm a class 2 licence holder but don't work in the industry as the pay is appalling where I live I can get the same working in a factory with zero stress and zero responsibility I also do some PCV work for a mate which also pays more than class 2.
Quality content. It seems like any driver these days thinks they sick a camera on and speak and they’ll get views. And the ones with subscribers don’t make any effort. Top work.
Hi James! I failed my first theory :( any tips!? Also, your vids were the original aspirations to become a hgv!! Many thanks and keep up the great vids!!!!
Not to worry Jake mate!! My main tip would be to try and not OVER revise. Don’t fry your brain with info, revise casually and at a slow pace and you’re more likely to take in more info 👍👍
I very much approve of your flag in the cab there I remember my first day on class 2, I was buddied up with another driver He got in, card in - and drove off pretty much straight away I said what about your pre-checks? He said it’s a 2019 truck! (This was 2019) I thought, so?! Needless to say it’s ALWAYS worth checking over your vehicle prior to starting work as who knows what’s happened since you last used it Been a class 1 driver since 2020 too
Hiya mate im 21 and looking for a change of job, thinking about doing my class 2, ive been driving a car for a couple years no problem, but obviously its a big jump to then try drive a huge lorry, was woundering just how difficult it is, i dont know if i could manuver something that big
My thoughts exactly mate when I got into the game. But once you sit behind the wheel for the first time, you get the gist as to what to do! It’s not as hard as it looks!! But of course, practise makes perfect! If you’re thinking about it mate and you enjoy being out on the road…. Do it!
@TruckinWithJames I done delivery driving for around a year, obviously in a car so it's different but I loved it so much, loved being out on the road while working, work in a warehouse now and realise just how much I miss my driving job, definitely don't like being in one place all day, and always think back to my job in the road so I know I'd definitely like that aspect of it
Once you passed your hgv test how did you get a job? As I want to change my career and always thought hgv driving would be a good job, and this video definitely makes it seem decent.
Hi mate, I did an apprenticeship with a company which means I walked straight into a job 👍 but alternatives would be looking into doing something like Agency maybe to build your experience 👍
Hi just came across your video I'm starting a hgv course next week, do u have any tips/ advice. Is the course hard and do u always do long days etc. Any info would be grateful and of course I've subbed 👍
Hello 👋 well good luck with your course and hope it all goes well! The best advice I can give you mate is to take your time, and do not rush things. If you rush, you have more chances of messing things up. Truck driving isn’t all about long hours driving and spend most of your time on motorways. It all depends on what job you get, I spend about 60-70% of my day driving, but I only work 7-5. 👍
Hi James great video. Looking into doing my licence at the moment. All the trainers/recruitment companies obviously sell themselves to find you a job easily. My question is it that simple to get a class 2 job with no previous experience? Obviously I'd be searching for jobs every day as well. Is there anything I can do to stand out?
Hi Dave thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed the video 😎 good luck with your test and everything mate!! I was quite lucky in that sense, I did an apprenticeship for my license so walked straight into a job. You might find that certain companies will and won’t take you on based on their insurance situation. I’ve noticed a lot of the bigger companies will take new passers on, but a lot of the smaller companies won’t. It all depends on the area you’re in etc. hope this gives you some insight mate 👍
@@TruckinWithJames Hi mate, how long was the apprenticeship and rough wages after tax? Looking for a change. Also what are the rates after you qualify. I think your UA-cam career might replace your full-time job. Was surprised how positive you were in the entire video. Great content 👌

@@insaiyan634 I wouldn’t rush into your class 1 mate 💪 there’s plenty of opportunities out there for both, but I think you will have much better luck with the class 2! Also for example, a lot of class 1 drivers around my area are on the same, if not less than me in wages 👍👍
