i just saw churck norris mention mung beans a great food. I was wondering can I buy the dry sprouts and use them in cooking without sprouting them? Can I cook them in a pressure cooker and use in foods like I do with cooked beans? Thank you
Hi There. Chuck Norris - no way! According to Ayurveda, mung beans are one of the most easily digestible beans you can eat. Due to their small size you can cook them quickly without soaking, but soaking is even better, and sprouting is also even, even better. Here's a link to some of my recipes using mung beans. Good luck with it! www.butteredveg.com/?s=mung+beans
Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you
You are also welcome. Thanks Scott.
When you soak and cover them for 12 hours, do you keep them out of the refrigerator at that time?
They are out of the refrigerator the entire time, until the sprouts are ready. Then I either cook them or put them in the fridge.
