Hi Dr. Berg, My family and I started a Agricultural Education non-profit organization back in Oct 2023. I was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer in March of 2024. Since seeing your videos regarding microgreens, we decided to start growing them and eating them. We truly believe that they have helped with my treatment in terms of building my hemoglobin and boosting my immunity. We have since started sharing them with others in hopes that it helps them too. Just wanted to say thank you for all that you do. Would love to use some of your content at the Farmer's Markets for context to give people more visibility into the powerful effects of microgreens.
I can't thank you enough for putting me wise to potassium deficiency! I switched to one of those " no salt c substitutes, and I feel much better. No more arrhythmia
Recipe: microgreens (usually broccoli sprouts for me), 1 stalk of organic celery chopped up, a big spoonful of sauerkraut (including the juice), a slice of avocado, and a sprinkling of raw pine nuts (pignolias). You don’t need any dressing because the sauerkraut juice is perfect on it.
It varies. Usually it’s about an hour or so after my main meal of the day. I usually only eat two meals per day (and no snacking) so I keep it in my 5 hour window when I let myself eat. It’s delicious! I have a friend hooked on it now and she doesn’t like sauerkraut or avocados usually, so now she does!
Thanks for this simple but very nutritious recipe . This is now my first meal of the day after my 18 hr fasting. It's awsome I add some olives and garlic n chilli kimchi.

We eat broccoli all the time but broccoli sprouts aren't something we see on every dinner table. Broccoli sprouts are grabbing wellness world's attention and for good reason. Thanks Dr Berg, great teaching. Informative as always.
Dr. Berg, Thank you for producing these videos. You have helped me more than any doctor ever has. Just started your protocol for low stomach acid and acid reflux and have seen good results and its only been 3 days. I grow microgreens and find them delicious and now I know they are definitely healthy for me. Great info.
Glad to see this info getting around more, thanks Doc. Broccoli sprouts are concentrated sources of sulforaphane, a type of isothiocyanate. Damaging broccoli sprouts - when chewing, chopping, or freezing - triggers an enzymatic reaction in the tiny plants that produces sulforaphane.
Does anyone else feel like Dr. Berg releases a relevant video exactly when a specific subject is on your mind? I have been eating broccoli microgreens religiously for the past 2 years. Now, I'm tempted to learn how to grow my own.
Good stuff! I put a bunch of seeds in my food storage. They last forever and all you need is water and a mason jar to grow them any time of year. 1-2 tbsp fills the whole jar in about 5 days.
Thank you dr. Berg. I'm very grateful for everything we learn from you. You mentioned broccoli sprouts in an earlier video, being helpful when you have leaky guts. So I bought them and just started on my first batch.

Growing vegetable sprouts in aqiponics with red lighs at night and sunlight in the daylight hour's seems to have more nutrients in what I tested year's ago. Excellent vids. Can't beat keto . and fermentation vegetables . And hanging your beef longer to mature and break down the muscle.
Dr. RONDAH Patrick really brought this to light, especially on her Joe Rogan interviews. She mentions a France product which we. Ant get in the US. But luckily BROQ is a product that is the US version which is also produced by this same company. This is what a lot of international studies have been based on.
I learned about it from one of your other videos and then kept researching. It is supposed to prevent and remove brain plaques. Ever since I grow my own broccoli sprouts and use them in my vegetable smoothies.
@Nazeer Gaad I grow mine on special sprouting trays on sprouting paper and seed starter soil. Much better results than jars. If I find the video, I'll post.
Brilliant, thank you Dr.Berg. I have a large tray of broccoli sprouts (in he spare bedroom) growing in an inch of soil almost at micro green level now. I don't like sprout so much as the little seed cases get a bit slimey and can contain harmful.bacteria. Since it is winter I use a cheap little growlight to extend daylight hours. It working a treat.....loads of salad just in one 12" x 1 8" tray.
I’ve been taking Broccomax for a couple of years to add sulforaphane to my diet. No idea if it’s helpful, but the amount of studies on this do suggest it’s helpful and beneficial.
Be careful w those broccoli supplements, make sure it's a reputable one bc when they were independently tested the majority didn't have what they were stated to have.

Lovely in salads, on sandwiches -- or just as is. Rhonda Patrick built her career on the study of sulforophane.
This is very interesting.. Few hours ago while I was watering my microgreen mix I had some questions about seeds vs sprouts. And there we have this video!! Thanks Dr.B.
Oh and one more vitally important thing when buying seed. Make sure they are Broccolli Calabrese and not Broccili Raab which is turnip I think. It is completely different and not real broccoli. Here in UK many sellers do not make that diistionc tion. Broccoli Raab is very cheap so that can be the 'bell ringer' !

Are wrinkles good for the skin?
You need to do more garden related videos like this. Not really a medical person but it's interesting to hear the benefits of what we grow.
When do u eat it? Prior to first meal, after, alongside?
How much Microgreen you consume? Like I'm asking about the Quantity.
A handful. Delicious combo!

You're very welcome!

Good stuff! I put a bunch of seeds in my food storage. They last forever and all you need is water and a mason jar to grow them any time of year. 1-2 tbsp fills the whole jar in about 5 days.
Where did you get the seeds?
Thank you!! I can't love this enough!! We need to go back to growing sprouts, it's so easy.

Expensive

I’ve been taking Broccomax for a couple of years to add sulforaphane to my diet. No idea if it’s helpful, but the amount of studies on this do suggest it’s helpful and beneficial.
Be careful w those broccoli supplements, make sure it's a reputable one bc when they were independently tested the majority didn't have what they were stated to have.

You are very kind and knowledgeable. My only problem is some of the nutrients, minerals and other phytochemicals and phytonutrients you are recommending in your info-rich videos are not easily obtainable in my country most especially my region, North Western Nigeria.
Same here in our place in Philippines. You can fine in the city but living in the country side is different thing. Some can be bought through online but sometimes you end up buying fake products
I'd think it is quite easy to grow broccoli sprouts from seeds, especially in a warm climate with good soils such as in Nigeria? Or are seeds not available for purchase?

Oh and one more vitally important thing when buying seed. Make sure they are Broccolli Calabrese and not Broccili Raab which is turnip I think. It is completely different and not real broccoli. Here in UK many sellers do not make that diistionc tion.

Thank you Dr Berg for reminding me about the amazing health benefits of sprouts .Years ago l use to make alfalfa, Mungbeans, sunflower sprouts. They are delicious in salads
i've been growing them in a mason jar, theres a screen lid you can buy and makes them really easy to grow!
Screen lid ? How does that work ?
The screen replaces the little disc part of the lid. Just buy a little screen material from the hardware store and cut it to fit. Or you can use gauze. Just put the gauze over the mouth of the jar and either screw the lid on to hold it down, or use a rubber band.
