      As a test I have BVRouge in series, 170:180:180 And a Renogy 100 watt pannel. Yielding 660+ watts input on Pv to the ac200p. I run whole house off it, use the eb240 near midnight to ac input on it an extra 450 per hour. The two total run everything 16-18 hrs.
      Getting extra eb240 cheep now for extra power. Portable. I plan on relocating to a frestate with sun.

    Another great great video Tom. I had asked Bluetti 2 times about using Lifepo4 to charge the AC200 and they said NO and now I know why thanks to you. I'm pretty sure it will work, it just don't know when to stop so it might ruin your Lifepo4 battery. Hoping on your follow up video that you will test out the 12v cigarette charging. I think a lot of users who doesn't have solar in their van will use this method to charge the AC200.

    Its 4-20-21 I use 170/180/180 BVRouge and Renogy 100 watt input to ac200p. About 650 watts under average 300-500 load. In four hours its at 100% charge.
    I ran today dishwasher two hours at 250/950 w load with all inputs , used eb240 to brick fed in 450+ watts total input was Almost 1100 watts using 1350 output to house.
    Eb240 used 3 170's and a renogy 100w input.
    Yes. Whole house running off the ac200 p.
    No air conditioning yet needed.

    Hmmm... I got a 60V, 10A power supply for my EB150 Bluetti. Unlike the 48V model, the voltage is only adjustable from a small trim pot, and there's no digital display. Not as versatile, but its one and only purpose is to charge the EB150 as fast as possible. It looks like I could use the same PSU on the AC200, but if a standard power brick gives more than 600W through the solar input, I might as well do that. Having a spare AC adapter is always a good idea anyway.
    One concern is that those "aviation" plugs don't look like the standard aviation plugs that I'm used to. They're the size of a thumb, while the regular ones are the size of a pinkie. That may be necessary for the voltage / current involved, but that makes it a non-standard part that can't be found in normal retail channels. It would be nice if they offered the plugs separately to have as spares, in case a field repair is necessary.

    Were you able to test the output from the Bluetti SP120 panels, or have the clouds been misbehaving?
    Also, it would be nice if Bluetti sold the DC-to-XT90 separately, or included it as a stretch goal.

    • @nfdsouza
      @nfdsouza 4 роки тому

      @@HOBOTECH Ah yes, I just thought from your comments regarding the conditions (partly cloudy) that perhaps you weren't getting the output you thought you should.
      Do the nylon hangers seem reasonably strong for the 6lb weight of the panels?
      And is the zipped up pouch for the cable (on the back of the panels) reasonably dirt and water resistant or waterproof? If left in the rain, do you think the "fabric" will dry out quickly, or be a soppy mess for hours?
      I like that these panels have long (3m) leads. Most portable panels seem to only have a few inches.

    • @HOBOTECH
      @HOBOTECH  4 роки тому +1

      @@nfdsouza They would certainly do better on a perfect day but how often does that happen? The hangers will hold just fine just not sure with weather how long. The fact is has no USB or adapters makes it more water resistant than most. I believe it will work in the rain just fine as long as it is not left on bare dirt.

    Can you tell me which Anderson plug I have to get to connect stuff to the 30 amp (aviation to xt60/xt60 to Anderson) outlet because there seem to be a lot of different ones on the market.. Thanks in advance!

    Thank you for great review! This is the best review of AC200 currently available.
    Did you have a chance to retest DC output inefficiency you reported in your first review of AC200?

      It is unchanged. It was too late in production to add a separate USB toggle.

    Great video as always.
    Did the manufacturer ever get back to you on "hardening" the case? Did you have any feedback from them that they will strengthen it. Seems like alot of cash to pay for a promising product for a casing that can break. Thanks again!

      You're confusing me with Jehu. I don't have any problem with the case. Treat it like a computer and just don't drop it.

    Tom would you prefer the factory replacing the 8mm plug on the ac200 with say the aviation style or XT style to standardize the power inputs?

    Question : can my Jackery 240 - 60w Solar panels power a J500? Or, do I need to buy more solar panels?

    Need advice : Bought the Max 200 and one battery B230. 4 panels total 800watts. On weeks of rainy days, 800 watts is not enough for the refrigerator as I'm completely off grid. Is it possible to use solar panels directly to the B230? While the 800 watts directly to the Max unit?

    I may have missed it in the video...How many watts are required to get the AC200 to solar charge? I am trying to select panels for mine. I am looking at two 24 volt 300 watt panels from Renogy. Thoughts?

  • @mrchrisknight315

    What if you used the alligator clips on a 48 volt lithium battery? Or even you used the charge enhancer and plugged it into a b230 battery that was connected to a ac200 max. Just wondering if it would work. I just bought a ac200max+ 1 b230 battery and trying to figure out if it's worth spending the extra money. For the alligator clip and the charge enhancer.

    Can I use two different wattage panels to charge my River Pro? Or, a general question, can I do this at all with any battery pack? I have the Ecoflow 160 watt panel and I want to buy another cheaper, lower wattage, like 100 or 120 watt, panel to mess around with. I want to collect solar panels as I can afford them, one a month or so.

    I subd a week ago and am really loving the vids. Wanted to ask about the Bluetti solar panel performance. I had some Goal zero nomad 100s that went straight to 0w when a cloud came over and they weren't sealed from light rain etc. Are the bluetti panels better? I have more expensive overland solar and safiery panels that put out power no matter what condition almost.

    • @HOBOTECH
      @HOBOTECH  4 роки тому

      Not a fan of GZ really. Their stuff is overpriced for the performance. The Bluetti panels are simple yet effective with a high Voc and use top grade cells.

    Do you know of an adapter that can convert the Jackery panels to MC4? Otherwise I was planning on making a couple so I can connect them in series to the AC200.

    • @HOBOTECH
      @HOBOTECH  4 роки тому

      Nope. You either need to make an adapter or hack the 8mm off and put on MC4.

    This charger as heavy as it looks it could have a cart on wheels built with it just like a suit case it would be even more compact and easier to move it around. Even better if could have a tougher case that withstands a light shower. When weight becomes an issue a plastic shell instead of rubber becomes an issue that it could crack. Cheers.

    Sorry, I hit the wrong button by mistake. Since I cannot charge on 120v from the Jackery 500 to the trailer via the trailer's 30a cord will a cord with a male 12v cigarette adapter on EACH end allow the trailer's 12v system to accept a charge from the Jackery's 12v female output and introduce it into the trailer through the trailer's already installed female 12v cigarette receptacle? Whew! I'm hoping to be able to feed 12volts into the overall 12v onboard system to run the refrigerator on propane for several days. Can this make the 12v supply last longer or am I all wet? And do you know a source for such a cord?

    MC-4 connectors can be completed by anyone who has experienced Crimping Connectors. Needing nothing more then some Needle Nose Pliers and a Pocket Knife. LOL Just a Basic Crimp on Terminal. The little plastic tools just make things easier. A Crimping tool can be had for under $20.00.. Chances are anyone attempting to do so would already have a tool capable of doing 10 AWG terminals. Pritty much a must have if your going to mess with Solar. Those Aviation Type connectors are a different animal. Yep, I've done those too.

    • @HOBOTECH
      @HOBOTECH  4 роки тому

      Most don't want to go buy a $20 crimping tool to crimp two connectors. I did because I make enough cables to justify the expense.
