To do it the local way you will have to swap the tea mug with a bottle of homemade wine, I´ll get you a bottle of my dad´s stuff if you wanna try some.
As far as batteries go (car and tractor) and some other supplies or parts like strimmer blades or cord and chainsaw blades there is a small place you can get stuff 5 min away, in Caria, Between the Churrascaria (grilled chicken place) and Padeiros do Rock (local bread seller and café) called Fixpeças. You can get stuff there in a pinch, good prices and Jorge will be happy to help you.
Wild boar hunting usually happens during the night, hunters will have a place called "Sovadouro" in wich they will leave corn every two or three days so they get used to going there, and then they will pick a fullmoon night and wait them out. During the day they usually hunt wild Rabit "Lebre" or birds.
And as allways, if you need anything don´t hesitate, doesn´t bother me at all.
Don´t get too upset at the rain and cold, you will miss late Spring and in the Summer.
Hope everything is going well and hooping to see the next update.
    Força Nisso

What a bargain, buying the plugs is a huge time saver, it also helps you know when it's time to plant what locally.👍

Absolutely agree. We have seeds for other items but this gives us a quicker fix for now. Thx

Greetings, from freezing east Texas Monday morning. (26ºf or -3.33ºc) Mr Inspector is getting around well for his age. Sadly my 20-year-old Rat terrier passed in October. "Your work is really coming along well.".

Hi Frank. Yes chilly where you are...but some cold mornings here. Sorry to hear about your dog. Our "inspector" will have his final few years here living his best life. He really gets mothered by you know who....

We might see some snow here. It can come down to this level. Right now it's been raining straight for 3 days....bored shitless in the caravan lol

@greenerinportugal I can sympathise...nothing worse than being trapped in a caravan in the pishing rain...let's hope it clears soon so you can get on with stuff around your amazing new home. Best of luck 👍

Hi, are you going to use any of the land for animals or just grow some good old fashioned healthy fruit & veg & care for the land?
    Love Guinness by the way.

Hi Annie Mac (great DJ btw...lol)
We have plans for some chickens to begin with and I'm sure the menagerie will grow...but to be honest whilst Guinness is still with us we don't want him getting angry at pigs and goats as he's never been around them before. The other issue is flies. There are some biting flies around here and with livestock poop comes flies...
It's not a no, not ever, but right now Guinness is king of this castle. Btw...he's asleep right next to me.....again... thanks J

@@greenerinportugal Bless him, Guinness is the centre of your universe & so he should be ❤️.
Yes, used to watch a UA-camr who suffered greatly from flies because of animal farming nearby, very good reason to stick to fruit & veg & any bugs you do happen to get a few chickens will scoop up for you. Having lived in the countryside with sheep, cows & horses behind the house I'm more than happy never to be in that position again. We humans are extremely tasty morsels apparently.
Being vegan since 1982 I rather hope you won't have animals!
You appear to have a very nice piece of land, look forward to seeing how you develop it.

If we do get animals they won't be eaten don't worry. We are much more likely to end up with a bunch of unwanted cats dogs and donkeys ! X

@@greenerinportugal You sound like my kind of people, that's great to hear. I'd end up with a load of rescues too, my cats over the years have been rescues & there have been a few other species in the mix from time to time.
Looking forward to your next video.

Difficult to say as it was done as a package with other items. But you can pick these smaller tractors up for 4k to 5k depending on condition etc and the carry box is about 300. Not sure on the rotatvator or cutter. Quite often you will get at least one attachment included. Thanks x

Would you rehome the stray doggy?

    • @greenerinportugal
      @greenerinportugal  9 місяців тому +2

We would consider it...but we found out today that she is less of a stray and more of a opportunist. We think she is from some land up the road that has a small house on it. We don't mind giving her a few dog biscuits if it makes her day. Thanks

Não concordo com a expressão "Abandonada" simplesmente venderam... Tinha dono(s) com outros projectos de vida...certo? Que sorte para si. 👏👏👏

Hi, the land changed hands several times before us and nobody did anything with it. Maybe view it as they abandoned their project and sold it on to us. The interpretation in English is less dramatic. We feel very fortunate to be the new owners and restore the farm to how it used to be. The older people in the village who remember it are pleased that it will be given a new life with us. Thankyou
