Thankyou so much. There is more straw that's in "better" condition in the old donkey shed so we will use that. The stuff we burnt was, in the main, a bit dusty and mixed with oil and other unidentifiable rubbish. Cheers J

You will need to build a revetment for that bank or reroute the track, otherwise the track will end up at the bottom of the slope.
Hi Noddy, hope all is well. We are going to sink concrete rings in to collect the spring water from the water mine (spring) thats below that area. We will then back fill around the new well with hardcore and gravel, effectively covering that entire area. The water mine is actually made from a concrete arch so that bit is strong, its just the bank to edge that's giving way. Thanks J
Захожу на ваш канал и отдыхаю ... Из глаз не течет кровь , не хочется писать про неправильные работы и технологии и прочее... Все логично и правильно. Немного медленно , но это ваш ритм и он успокаивает. Поддержу предыдущий коммент- облицовку канала водяной шахты надо делать сейчас. Я понимаю , что сейчас много воды в канале , и делать это летом гораздо удобнее , но у вас начинается строительство и будет много доставки материалов . Дорого может осыпаться в самый неподходящий момент. Может быть стоит поставить 2 листа фанеры по краям тунеля , распереть их между собой и наливать сверху бетон ? Бетон прекрасно застывает под водой , если нет размывания потоком воды .
Hi. Thanks for the message. We have a plan for the well which will fix that erosion. That should be fixed by the end of February

If you mean where the bank is falling away then no that's not the plan. We will sink some well rings into the ground and back fill effectively sealing off that water spring while channeling the water from it to the new well. Thanks J

Couldn’t the straw etc be used to start a compost heap keep safe
Yes we will be starting a compost heap, but not got around to that yet. There's more in the other part of the house and that will be composted
