Those 777s in that old livery sound amazing!
Babicka Fantastica how can a livery determine how somethig sounds
@@soarandskor.aviation no he's referring to the 777 that has that soecific livery
@@soarandskor.aviation he's just identifying the plane in question
The BAW 777s in the Landor livery looks super sexy.
Oh wow! The Landor 757 and 777 look stunning! As for those artistic tails, well, I can see how they would confuse ground controllers :P
Just went through Heathrow Terminal 4 last year. It feels so dull and lifeless there without British Airways. And the magic and glory of the Landor livery was sorely missed.
Back when British Airways were still a hallmark of the airline industry and they were the real “Worlds Favorite Airline”
Those Ethnic tailwings certainly were something.
I liked them too. Amazed at how many don't. Apparently Margaret Thatcher didn't like them and this may have influenced BA in going for the flag.
Very cool tails. But ultimately it damaged the brand whose existing customers claimed it made BA 'less British', hence the move back to the more 'patriotic' flag symbol, albeit a modernised version
dunno if anyone cares but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can watch pretty much all of the latest series on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my girlfriend for the last weeks :)
@Alejandro Kenzo yup, I've been using InstaFlixxer for since november myself :)
Those tail designs on the 747 just look incredible.
They were until Margaret Thatcher gave her distaste of the colours along with the general public by putting a handkerchief on the tailfin on a plastic model of a British Airways Boeing 747-400. So British Airways decided to paint the tailfin on each aircraft in the entire fleet in the Chatham Dock Union Flag Livery including their new and existing aircraft in the fleet just like on their Concord fleet because that livery is still an absolute beauty today 23 years on. The reason why because the Chatham Dock Union Flag Livery is very patriotic and traditional to British Airways.
3:40
Best livery ever.. travelled on a 747 with that livery from JFK - LHR in June 2000.
Amazing video. Thanks for sharing!
Those 777s with Landor livery, oh god they look beautiful!
Nothing better. Beautiful
I’ve always thought my wife is the most beautiful creature - until 0:25
That livery on the 777-200 was stunning
Excellent stuff. I actually learned how to speak while onboard one of these Boeing 747s (Singapore Airlines) when I was five. I used my primitive English skillset to talk to a "Singapore Girl" (a Singapore Airlines flight stewardess). In fact, She was the first person I had a conversation with (and NOT my mom, who was sitting right next to me).
Late learner, yes. But does that really matter? I don't know.
Ayoye!.. incredible , it was special the colours and how it was robust..love it, thanks for the post
This is such a great video . Thank you JP
Good to see 'Zulu Kilo' in there. I was at the unveiling of the 'Utopia' livery in 1997, I nearly vomited that day, I still feel the same when I see these tails today.
Yes, those tails were, and still are, absolutely nonsense. They are called BRITISH Airways for a reason. At least Chelsea Rose looks pretty good. Most others are just garbage (although I think Waves and Cranes looks ok-ish)
I love these beautiful painted tail jobs.Awesome video guys
Awesome Catches mate! Loved the good 'ol days
I love this queen... ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
my favorite livery of British Airways is the Landor Livery, Negus and BOAC. even the recent chatham dockyard livery
Love the RB211 powered 747s
Everything about this video is excellent
The Landor scheme was so classy
awesome vintage spotting , like the 757
Some of this footage dates from August 2001 as the BEA Trident three G-AWZK rolled out in her new colours that month.
I loved seeing all the different tail designs when I lived in Miami. My face was the seagulls with the rainbows.
Beautiful. ..thanku ...love an god bless x
flew to heathrow many times that year with my old job.cant believe its 20 years.
The Landor livery made the 777s look stunning
Would be nice if British Airways brings back the Utopia tail liveries! I loved it!😃
So did i.
I remember flying G-BNLI from LHR to MNL via HKG back in 2000 such good times
Thanks so much for this video. So relaxing and inspiring. 747 is the correct answer! :)
In that year British airways already have 47 of 53 boeing 747-400 active service
I wasn't a huge fan of the world tails back when they were introduced. This was most likely due to them replacing what arguably was the best airplane livery ever conceived. Considering how bland, uninspired and homogeneous contemporary liveries have become, I now have a renewed appreciation of them. In fact, had they been introduced at any other point in time - I'd laud them as a masterpiece. I wish BA kept at least some of them around. At least they will live on through your videos and enthusiast photos. Who knows, maybe one day some airline will do something like this again. One can dream.
Excelente vídeo.
It will be heartbreaking to see the British Airways 747s leave In 2024
Did you notice all Landings 🛬were very smooth ? 🛬🛬🛬
YES
If only I could travel back in time with my modern camera equipment...
Some of those British Airways B747s are still flying today 😄😆
not now :((
Thanks a lot man you jinxed it
@@speedbird1598 Sorry 😭😅
I wrote that before Covid was even a thing ..
I miss those tails. Was really fun as a plane spotter. Would be nice if BA brought a few back
Ohh the Nostalgia..
BA world tails my absolute favourite even to this day and well ahead of its time
where's the Concorde😥
It was grounded that year, remember the air France crash?
@@GlaringDiamon air france crash was in 2000
Maybe it wasn't schedule. When they recirded the footage
Nice to see the coulouful tails
And also complete have all 28 Boeing 767-300ER
The good ol’ dayzz
Those were the days when the Rolls Royce RB 2 11 were powering most of the BA fleet
I honestly like the ethnic tails and Landor out of all of the liveries ever for Ba
Great Old days.
Very nice
wondering when we get a full video of the angle from 6:45
I like those world tails on a 747. In my opinion, other models should be painted in Union Flag livery.
757🤘🏻
Can’t believe there isn’t Concorde in that!
Look at 3:28 😍
Why did they not bring back the tail designs for BA100?
how r u disliking this tho ???
Adjust your seats and pound your last whisky. Its the Beatles back from the U.S.S.R.
💓 the Trient Three
Are their any of these left?
God save the Queen (B747)
Back when u plane watched at Heathrow and saw all the BA planes and they weren’t all the same THING!!!
Basically the same livery as today lol. BA needs a new livery.
when british airways was great.
Where’s the concored
7:07 behind boeing 777 have a ufo
Thats another plane
Water Dreaming
You can hear the 777 miles away
0:30 is that G-ZZZE, which may just be the least-loved 777 of all time?
Also, why did BA's 757s have a black ring around their radomes?
Ulrica HydmanVallien?
I remember that silly tail fin livery BA had back then. Looked so stupid. Apparently it got complaints by some ATCs because of identification issues.
I think they looked nice, different tail livery for every plane
@@GlaringDiamon The designs on their own looked nice, but to me the concept was silly and most of them didn't match the BA logo.
I was born 4 years too late
Who has created these ethnic tailings?
Current BA livery is just lame and boring just like its customer experience has become in the late 2010s
not A380
The A380 wasen't out then
@@Speedsnapcreations but it was in the makings at that time
Ppl forgot who have always dominated the sky smh boeing always being on top just wait after all these is resolve
What? Airbus came after but they have already nearly made up for lost time. Check the A320 family total orders
Chatta290 yea ik that but boeing always has strong sells on top of airbus for all their aircrafts only one that come close is the 320
Anderson Rodriguez have you not seen the A330, A350 etc? The only one which didn’t sell well was the A340 due to regulation changes allowing twin engines aircraft to cross vast oceans, hence the B777 became a success
Chatta290 true Nd remember boeing had the 767 757 777 747 737 booming in sales especially 90s early 2000s
Anderson Rodriguez then airbus came along. The B757 and B767 could be replaced with the A321 and A330. The B757 should have been developed further, such a fantastic aircraft, unlike the B737 max. Airbus now have the most quiet and comfortable aircraft thanks to the A350 and A380, pretty much agreed by most travellers. Not a fan of the B787, over rated if you ask me. I would take the B777 over it any day
Those tail designs look so out of place
Ummm...no...those tails were hideous to look at then ...and still are. How could BA have changed from that wonderful , smart, dignified Landor scheme to all that woeful graffiti? Thankfully they got the “art” out of their system after a few years and standardised with the current livery which is at least slightly more acceptable.
